The conditions most chickens live in are far worse. And if you could asked them, every one would want to escape to freedom and a life free from exploitation! Do your part by not supporting the system of cruelty, oppression, and killing: GO VEGAN! =]
HOLY FUCK! i randomly just remembered this movie and searched on google : what was the movie about the chickens animated... AND BAM! Chicken Run! I miss great movies like these.... nostalgia
I never thought I'd see a Claymation film as good as Chicken Run. But I did yesterday. It's called Mary and Max. On netflix instant que. See it, it's AMAZING
Man, i remeber this movie. This was one of my favorite movies when everyone had VCR, now, sadly, It is non transferrable onto DVD due to copyright laws, so ill only be able to watch things like this..... This remind anyone of Hogans Heros? I know im only 14, but man, im glad TV land exists..... I should save that rant for when i find another good show or movie.
In the 1960s Hogan's Heroes (unfairly) drew fire for satirising concentration camps although it was set in a POW camp and never mentioned the Holocaust.
Now we have Chicken Run which also satirises POW camps - and this time there is a hint of the death camp with chickens being marked for slaughter - but nobody criticises it as they did Hogan's Heroes. Times have changed all right!
Aardman is EPIC. plus they seeme to go good with DreamWorks (liek Disney/PIxar) too bad DW didn't leave them alone or repect their creativity.. im sad they split up :( but arthur christmas and THE PIRATES!! look great
This movie used to scare the Livin' SH*T out of me because of that pie scene when they nearly die, and when that lady nearly chops off the one chicken's head (the main character). But, of course, i was, like, 6 when i first watched this. Im going to watch it again to see if i get scared:)
@pieexplosion101 Lol, i use to see this movie everyday when i was little, and since i watched it to much teh tape got ruined so i havent seen it again till couple months ago cuz its was on tv,it was at like 3am and ended at like 5am and it was a school day but i didnt care lol, watched it anyway. The video game is was scared me XD
I haven't seen this since it just came out on DVD. Or was it video... how old is this movie? I think it was DVD.
We get to watch this in English at school and I just wanted to check out the trailer because I remember thinking it was creepy, like Wallace and Grommit. It is creepy! Their eyes are so SCARY! And what's with the pie machine? Wouldn't you just get a mouthful of hot feathers? Anyways, it's creepy but I love it.
The movie was released in 2000 just as DVD was starting to take off, and so it was simultaneously released on video and DVD. I just saw the film again on TV and the pie machine sequence made me lol with the Star Wars references.
And at the end the chickens said something like "This is heaven!" (cause they escaped the evil lady) so there for i thought they died and went to heaven. yyyeeaaahhh, didn't help ; A ;
I watched this movie long after it came out (I think I was 2nd grade that means 2006),
and I was totally obsessed by it. I watched it at least 11 times and I drew all the characters and I had dreams about it. I still have it and I still love it so I watched it again, and awww, it's still as amazing as I remember it!!! LOVE IT:)))
I remember really hating this movie when it came out. I'm kind of intrigued to watch it again though now that I'm older. Also. . I just had eggs and toast for breakfast ;)
Hogan's Heroes was controversial because people confused its POW camp comedy with concentration camps. Unlike Hogan's Heroes, Chicken Run alludes to concentration camps and the Holocaust with chickens being used as slave labour and going for the chop. But it doesn't seem to have the controversy of Hogan's Heroes, which it might have if it had appeared at the same time. Shows how perspectives have changed.
After all these years I finally figured out what this reminds me of - World War II, Concentration Camps (I'm sorry but some of the stuff in the film I found to be quite similar; I hope those of you that survived are doing well and my thoughts are with those who lost their lives in the duration of the war) and What Churchill did for women (change their lives forever by giving them increased working rights)
This movie IS my childhood. It was funny, inventive, surprisingly dark, and of course, British. And we all know Britain makes almost everything better.
ahhhh childhood. didnt notice english accents. now after watching this trailer it looks to me identical as a concentration camp. trying to escape from certain death
I used to watch this when I was like 8. I seriously watched this movie at least twice a week for 2 years. I can tell you ever last detail of every scene.
I already know this show...i have watched it 8 times.....By the way Why ginger dont escape alone and then the other day the other chickens escape...1 by 1...... ^_^
