itz all immaculate. i do believe that part three iz the prettiest, especially the entry. dont know which of them wrote that part. muzic makes everything better.
David should REALLY bring this back into the light. Have his back up band help sing the chorus cuz I know he probably cant go that high vocally anymore. Such a good song
This went nicely (faded out slowly from 2:12 - 2::38) on my mountain-music acoustic guitar medley cassette (now redone on CD) which I made in 1976 expressly for driving my old '69 V W type-3 off road and for the back roads around Calvin Crest, Fresno Dome, Nelder Grove, etc...
It's funny how Gilmour himself has always talked about this piece as "bullshit" since each member of the band was required to write an individual part of this album and he didn't have many ideas for his. I feel Gilmour improvising some "bullshit" is better than Gilmour soloing big time in The Wall. I love the Narrow Way. Every bit of it.
One of the better peices on Ummagumma. SSOSFAGTIACGWAP is much I think the most exciting part on that album. Ummagumma and Atom Heart Mother are the two greatest classical floyd albums.
I am a Pink Floyd fan for life! This song is one of the top faves! Thanks so much for having it in this version!Growing up with this kind of music was awesome and evokes memories upon hearing when heard.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE PINK FLOYD SONG THOUGH I NEVER SAW IT PERFORMED IN CONCERT...MY FIRST CONCERT WAS THE RELEASE OF DARK SIDE OF THE MOON WITH THE OLD QUADRAPHONIC SOUND SYSTEM AT SOME LITTLE PLACE IN CHARLOTTE NC. I HAVE BEEN AN AVID FAN EVER SINCE!
omg, such an light, optimistic beginning, then the depressive second part and then the third part, which reminds me the great journey of the elves in Silmarillion (especially the lyrics), it all together makes a great song and a justification for David Gilmour, who replaced the genius Syd Barrett...
@MichalFokt Gilmour taught Syd basically everything he knew about music. dont get me wrong Syd was a fucking genius of course but dude without Dave there wouldve been no Syd
You may laugh, but I have clear memories of being thirteen years old back in 1973, staring at this album cover for hours, particularly absorbed by all that exotic gear.
In another hand, Part II sounds like a walking in the hot summer day.

I was a freshman at U of I in champaign living in the dorms. The extrinsic value of
this music cannot be described with mere words alone. It was such a fabulous time
in my life.

May I recommend the book 'A Pop Revolution, the transatlantic music scene 1965 to 1969' by the invisible man. The author is a big fan of this track.

Gilmour's bullshit is one of the best pieces of the 20th century. The fool. He obviously didn't know how ahead of it's time it really was.

Highly underated piece, particularly Part 3. In my book, Ummagumma is a five star album anyway.
