This is so true!! I was a graphic designer for many years. I've learned to block out most of the idiots that think they know everything. People using acronyms and "Pantone scales" to try and look intelligent. "Some people just don't read... ya know?"
I am a graphic designer in corporate office... I mailed this to everyone in the marketing department and now people are more aware of the absurdity of what they ask of us...(doesn't mean they don't stop doing it). Such a true video
I think seeing as it starts with 'What if...' and I assume you are familiar with stop signs in real life it's not too hard to work out it's a parody...?
This video couldn't possibly be more accurate. By the end I felt as frustrated as I do at my job on a daily basis. I have gotten to the point where I regret getting into the graphic design industry. And RomanceExplosionLive nailed it in the portfolio comment!
This is the exact reason my desk has a imprint from my forehead on it.
If they make a continuation, it should start with the client arguing about why it cost so much to develop. All they wanted was a simple sign and what you gave them was overkill.
Although parody, it's sadly accurate... and precisely what's causing me to rethink my life in advertising/design after nearly 15 years. It's the ONLY trade I can think of where a client hires you for your expertise then ties your hands behind your back and critiques work while having no background whatsoever. Other than "I took a pottery class in college" I mean...
As a Graphic Designer, I see this happen on a daily basis... It's painful to have a portfolio worth of stuff labeled "First Drafts of Work before the Client asked for Changes"

Do these people work for the same company I do? Is this a parody? I am confused...this seems all too real.

I'd say you guys did a good job, but I think you just recorded a client meeting and performed it verbatim.
