@Trashcansam123 ... actually it's a death camp. Auschwitz was used as a model for this, and in 1942 over 80,000 french jews, even children, were gassed. Auschwitz was used also to assassinate Polish Jews too. Not POWs

No its not fictional. Its Stalag Luft III, a Luftwaffe-run prisoner-of-war camp that housed captured air force servicemen.

I freakin' hated this level, while it was bloody exciting, what bothered me the most were the uniforms and the weapons. Since it was in Russia, the soldiers and the officer should have wore white or grey, and there were alot more weapons than just the Gewher and the *Cough* PPSH *Cough*. What happened to the MP40, and the K98?

Still, it was bloody exciting.

It is Auschwitz concentration camp which was in Nazi occupied Poland - depending on the year this level takes place it would be very far from the front-line so no need for camouflage. The SS guards were second line troops and a Gewehr and MP34 would kill an unarmed prisoner just as easy as the slightly improved Gewehr 98 known as the Karabiner 98k or the MP40. Historically this was how most concentration camp and POW camp guards were outfitted and armed.
