  • I'm going to gesele in her bundchen

  • a couple of mistakes? LOL

  • Portuñol! <3

  • I love the 'You know' in the middle of Spanish and Portuguese.

  • I know Portuguese and Spanish fluently, and I see that words she didn't quite know in Spanish she used in Portuguese, which sound similar. She also used the nos in Portuguese, which is used differently in Spanish. ex Nosotros tenemos que entederNOS (Spanish). Nos NOS temos que enteder (Portugues). Anyway, it sounded very cute.

  • her spanish is pretty good! i understood all of it .. i heard adriana in a spanish interview and she asked them to speak english haha so americanized

  • Haha, verdade!

  • Her Spanish is really good. Considering that her native language is Portugese, which may be similar to Spanish, but is not the same language. That is really good.

  • Good god! That is the worst portuñol ever!

  • portuguese, english, spanish........

    OMG!!!!!

    she's the best!

  • She speaks portuguese, english, spanish, what else?

OMG, AGAIN I HAVE TO SAY! LUUUV HER!

    so hot!

  • I speak both Portuguese and Spanish and I must say that her effort to speak Spanish was more than decent...why do u say that she makes so many mistakes?...besides, the two languages have many things in common

  • I'm Boricua in NYC and she speaks more spanish than I do Dammit lol. I love her even more.

  • salve portuñol cabron. la verdadeira lengua latinoamericana

  • VIVA PORTUNHOL!

  • Que Bella en todos los centidos

  • well, i think she did a good job speaking spanish being its not her native toungue. i could understand what she was saying even thought she made a couple mistakes. but dont be so quick to judge, because i have NEVER in my life heard a spanish-speaker speak portuguese like gisele speaks spanish. go gisele! glad to know she took the time to learn our language.. ;)

  • you´re so right! we must learn both English and Spanish while few spanish speaker artists speak Portuguese like Shakira and Ricky Martin, they go for English and stay stucked in that. Good for Brazilians that find other languages to express themselves even though they´re not as fluent as a spanish speaker

  • Well, of course shes not fluent in spanish, shes from Brazil. Portuguese and spanish may be similar, but are essentially two different languages.

I think she did a good job tho

  • a GREAT job

  • "la mia familia" she mixes up her spanish. Her accent is dead on but she makes grammatical mistakes.

  • alright chill ppl yea yea shes brasilian i am just saying her ethnicity is german i mean admit it or not americas is a salad its a mix of ppl thats wat im saying you guys are showing inferiority complex by arguing whats true im not saying it doesnt have a culture im just saying its the new world and the cultures are mixed. just chill out and accept the truth

  • POLIGLOTA AINDA POR CIMA!

  • I am BRAZILIAN. Even though i have ukrainian, german and spanish roots......I was born and raised there.....and me, mom, grandma or great grandma DO NOT SPEAK any german or ukrainian.......

  • , language, music and culture blended in all together. Once we were born in a country and lived there for part of our lives ,doesn't matter where u came from, u belong to that culture and nation cause u calls that home. Long life to diversity what I 'm proud about it in Brazil.

  • Omg !!! What r u guys talkin about it, U need to realize that all the Americas have been populated with europeans and people from else where, just to give an example in Brazil had the biggest immigration from Japan, we have more Lebanese people in Brazil than in Lebanon, not even talkin about Italian, besides Portuguese, Italians was the biggest immigration contributing to our nation's culture, every single culture helped in some how to build our identity as Brazilians in our culinary ,

  • i love Gisele!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • monkeycake my parents moved here because my father does international business i am very happy because the contract just finished and im gonna leave this fucking place im not saying it doesnt have opportunities its just that the people here are plain dumb!!!! i mean you guys come from Europeans how can you not know where your ancestral lands locations is? you guys suckk at geography and the funny thing is its just a picture thats all it is!!!

  • actually her parents are first generation germans in brasil they speak german at home and shes a german girl shes pure german she has no other mix. after all there is no such a thing as a Brasilian or American or venezuelan they are all people from different european countries a real american would be a native American

  • Not true, She is the FIFTH generation, or seventh. First genaration germans in brazil are as rare as a three dollar bill. Sorry to disappoint you. My parents are FORTH generation of Germans and I consider myself 100% Brazilian (and I am a blond lady as well). Nationality is not a RACE, is a compound of culture, language, history and day-to-day existence. You are where you grow up, In Brazil the're as many nationalities as looks. Love this place! Impossible to even pattern a Brazilian look.

  • are you crazy? she can't even speak german!!! my mother is german and I was born in Brazil, and I feel like a brazilian girl so as she. I don't know where you come from, but in Brazil what counts is where you were born and raised... what you're talking there is that we Brazilians don't have culture and so on, just because the Europeans were there.

  • Her family proberbly keeps some german culture at home (and that's good), but they are all Brazilians as they live there. Your comments must be jealousy... the mix helps a lot, but in the end, if you were born and raised there, you're a Brazilian!

  • Wow. Her spanish isn't bad at all. Given, yes, some pauses, grammar errors and stuff, but in all, definitely understandable.

  • You do not have pride in their country and are paying for pal Brazil

  • 100% BRASIL.

  • omg, spanportuguese, so cute (L

  • wow, i didnt know she coud speak spanish too! she does it pretty well!

  • wtf?

She does not speak german, and there are 7 generations of her family in Brazil, she has nothing from germany!

So nobody is really american, just the indians...

  • actually xxangelkiss888 is right. Gisele is 100% German. She was born in brazil, but she is all german.

  • She is a sixth generation Brazilian. Her German ancestors arrived in Brazil in the 1820s, so give me a break! She is 100% Brazilian.

  • @Marllon

Still doesn't take away the fact that she is still ethnically German

  • I'm ethnically African and Portuguese, but I'm still Brazilian. I'm sorry, but can you name any Brazilian who's ethnically Brazilian?

Leo DiCaprio is American, but he's ethnically German and Italian.

I don't get your point, why emphasize her German ancestry?

  • @Marllon thats true! in brazil arent most if not alll of the people have some type of african or ameriadian ancestry?

  • @TenshiTamagoKidd15 Most Brazilians have an admixture of African and Portuguese ancestry. A fair-sized minority of Brazilians also have Amerindian admixture in addition their African and Portuguese mix.

Amerindians are 0.4% of the Brazilian population. Brazilians with partial Amerindian admixture are 33% of the population, so approximately 1 out 3 Brazilians have measurable Amerindian admixture.

Most of us are a multigenerational melange of African and European roots.

  • @FrigidArtic Yeah, but she technically still Brazilian!!!, get over it...

  • That is not true she is the FITH generation of Germans and she can't speak a WORD of German. There are about 15 MILLION brazilians (like her, myself included) who are "germans" but can't say a word of it. We are all considered (and live as) Brazilians. Our country does not care about race as other nations do. (quite racist nation brazil is though).

  • i fucking hate Americans!!! unfortunately my parents moved here for business when i was young but Americans are the stupidest and dumbest and the lowest class nation in the world!! i hate them they think Spain is in the Carribean or something the fucking map is a little picture they are THAT ignorant to even try to see where things are located fucking retards go eat your burgers and keep getting fat FUCK AMERICA

  • Lowest class nation huh?...is that why your parents moved here? LMFAO

  • You are lucky. I wish I could live in US. Instead I live in a country with no perspectives for the future.

  • what language is that she is speaking?

  • spanish....

  • American ignorance is so so hard... The think that we (spanish people) are in Mexico!!

  • linda ....adoro vc ...achei engracdo esse you know no meio mais entendo e bem difecil hehe

  • ahahahahaha, she speak "portunish"!!!

  • she speak spanish very well....

  • haha she's soo cute. The way she trys to speak fast but ends up trippin herself up. I'm the same way. I speak portuguese as a second language an am near fluent in Spanish. Whenever I try to speak Spanish and sound like a native speaker, I always trip up. Haha I gotta take it slow and really think b4 I talk.

  • She's speaking Spanish here, not Portuguese.

I think the two are quite different when spoken. English is my first language but I speak Spanish fluently but can't understand more than 30% of what I hear in Portuguese. But it's very similar written and I have no trouble reading Portuguese. For me Spanish is closer to Portuguese when written than say French or even Italian I think. But the two have entirely different pronunciations in my opinion.

  • I honestly did not know, for the longest time, that she was even from Brazil, much less spoke Portuguese, what with her German-sounding name and all. Then I went on Wikipedia and learned that a surprising amount of Germans live in South America, most of them living there for generations.

  • American ignorance is infinite. When they will start to teach you guys geography at school? Then you will not make fools on yourselves anymore...

  • I liked your honesty

  • Spanish and Portuguese are not very similar as someone said. I speak spanish and its hard for me to understand portuguese.. too fast for me and the letters are pronounced completely different

  • Well, actually they are, but it also depends on who is speaking. I only know very very litle portuguese and I can understand almost eveything I here in Portuguese because Spanish is my second language.

  • I honestly think Portuguese sounds more like Italian.

  • Huh?

  • they are similar but its hard to understand portuguese if you are a spanish speaker, trust me. they look very similar written down but when they are spoken they are very different pronunciation. and mirosalvameks giselle is speaking spanish here not portuguese.

  • First- love your user name! =) ... second, perhaps because I speak Italian, I feel that Portuguese does NOT sound anything like Italian. I also speak Spanish and I think portuguese is a lot closer to Spanish- IN WRITING. Agree w/ other posters... the pronunciation is sooo different than in Spanish and I frankly don't understand it as well when I hear portuguese, but do VERY WELL when reading it. Italian and Spanish have very similar pronunciations though. (I speak both).

  • omg she speak 3 languages

  • that is not a lot, shakira and her relatives speak a average of 6 languages each, perfectly.

  • In the video she is talking spanish, but also some words in portuguese and in inglish she sais: You know ;p

I'm spanish and I don't speak portuguese, because it's not the same lenguage, so I don't understand this lenguage completely. She don't speak spanish very well, but she do it, and this is the important thing, I think haha.

    The video is funny :D

  • YOU DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH VERY WELL

  • Of course, it's a problem? you speak spanish?

  • so she is speaking spanish......... thought it was portuguese, i mean since portugese and spanish are so similar......... and i agree she does a good job.

  • She does a good job in Spanish actually, for a Portuguese speaker.

  • I find it weird and very amusing for an ethnic german woman talk in spanish and her native portugues

  • U r such Ignorant prick.. do u know where is she from? U should better kwown first before open ur mouth..

South brazil is basically italians and Germans background..

  • First of all when people speak to me they speak to me in English. And second of all my statement was a compliment, and it was not intended to be offensive at all. And third take an English class

  • She's not German.

  • why are brazilian guys so bad mannered?

  • I find it weird and very amusing for an ethnic german woman talk in english

Haha!! Atau kalo dlm Bahasa Spanyol: Jaja! :p

  • lo dr mana? bisa bhs Spanyol?

  • Dari Indonesia lah. Dari mana lagi?

Tahun lalu aku ke Spanyol ngunjungin temän, terus aku ikutan kursus Bhs Spanyol.

    Ngga gampang-gampang banget.

Kau bisa Bahasa Spanyol? Dari mana?

  • ya elah ya pastinya dr Indonesia lah, tp dr mananya? mang Indonesia cuman sedege Depok...gw dr Jakarta tp gw kuliah di Perth, ga gw ga bisa Bhs Spanyol tp pengen si cuman kayanya susah bgt

  • Dari Manado.

Kenapa pengen belajar Bahasa Spanyol?

Terus terang emang lumayan susah sih, Bahasa Spanyol, tapi tiap orang beda2 koq. Banyak orang bilang buat mereka ngga susah2 banget.

  • que bonito habla el español!!

  • she speaks spanish! :O yay

  • What a shame.. Gisele hijacked the idea of getting her body painted and to "help" the cause of indigenous people from Emilie Barrucand, a young dedicated french ethnologist and activist who spends most of her time living with the tribes in the amazon in Brazil. Gisele should at least mention her and give her credit, if not invite her and her NGO for the press conference. Google Emile Barrucand on Google image and you'll see! It's a shame famous people take credit from those who need real support

  • gisele is the best

  • she's espanol a lot more better than adriana! but adriana is still good

  • Do you know if theres any clips of Adriana speaking spanish?

  • yeah the press conference in liverpool

  • I didnt know she speaks my lenguage, she's totally my second favorite now, she is sooooo cute, and human soo now i love her

  • I had no idea what a sweet heart she is. Not my favorite model but seems kinda sweet :- ) Go her

  • omg. i had no idea. she sounds hott

  • she has a south american spanish accent

  • To me it sounds south american or mexican because where my family is from in mexico they use that kind of accent and the word "magra" to say skinny.

  • Not many people know about it, even most Mexicans because it's a pretty small city. I'm not exactly from Chipilo, I was born in Seattle, Washington but my mother is from Chipilo and my father is from a region in mid-western Mexico where French ancestry is quite common. Mexico has quite a few little regions where the majority of the people are of, or mostly, European ancestry but obviously no where near the amount of European decendants that Brazil or Argentina have.

  • Oh, and are you Hispanic or are you just a really intelligent person who became fluent in Spanish? :)

  • I'd like to believe I'm really intelligent..ha, but no I'm not Hispanic, I'm an anglophone. But I learned Spanish in uni and in Argentina.

  • yes

  • magra = slim

  • Can anyone tell me if she has a Brazilian accent when she speaks Spanish? And is her vocab and grammar like that of a native?I speak Brazilian portuguese and am learning Spanish and I'm interested to know how she speaks

  • Her accent is extremely good, I think. : J

But she says somethings that are from portuguese, I think... She says

    "escolier"? when she meast "escoger"

and "magra" which I don't know what that means

  • Yep, she does! I'm Portuguese, but it's most easy for us to recognize the Brazilian accent! :P

  • yes, she does

  • Her accent is excellent...only on a few occasions I did hear that portuguese pronunciation come out (slightly though)- Her vocab/grammar is definitely NOT like that of a native though. Lots of mixed words with portuguese and wrong tenses.

  • her spanish is actually really good i didnt even know she could speak it lol =]

  • actually her Spanish isn't that bad. in fact not that bad at all. quite good actually. no accent. ")

  • haha she's speaking portunhol

  • actually her spanish is better than her english. she has a great spanish accent, while in english her accent is very thick.

  • Actually, her English, grammatically speaking, is MUCH BETTER than her Spanish. Yes, it's true that she has a VERY GOOD accent in Spanish, but she cannot put a complete sentence together without major grammatical errors. She also uses A LOT of non-Spanish words. I don't speak portuguese, but I do Italian (as well as Spanish) and the word "magra" does not exist in Spanish- it means "thin" in Italian; that's how I knew she was talking about being thin (must also mean this in portuguese?)

  • ...anyway, I"m sure that if she takes a simple, basic Spanish course, she'll be speaking fluently in no time. She definitely already has the accent down. Good for her!

  • Yes, "magra" is "thin" in Portuguese. She used a lot of portuguese words in the interview, but she pronounced them with a spanish accent.

  • I think this is what I already said?? ...and by the way, her accent is not "spanish"- not by far...it's more neutral I would say, but definitely from the Americas... and yes, I did hear portughese accent on some words (I lived in Italy where there's a huge Brazilian community and many of my friends spoke Italian with this accent- really cute!=)

  • Well, your envy is what is not "looking right" in fact. :P

  • Her english is much better than her spanish

  • That's a such beautiful girl !!!!

  • yeah!

    I love her!

    5*

  • OH MY GOSH GISELE ROCKS! THATS THE FIRST TIME I HEAR HER TALK SPANISH! cool!
