My '73 Ford Galaxie 500 is better looking than that one. Mine is a 4 door hardtop not a two door hardtop. In shows like Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels, and The Streets Of San Fransisco, they used 1973-74 Ford Galaxie 500s, Custom 500s, and LTD Broughams.

What's so nice about the Galaxies in Mexico is you could get the coupe, the sedan, the wagon, and on any of them, a 351W engine (not a heavy big block) and whatever transmission you want. Automatic? Sure, floor or column shift. Manual? Sure, at least column shift I've seen. Imagine driving a '73 Galaxie wagon with 8 to 10 people in it, and you've got a three on the tree! Whoever sits next to the driver is gonna get elbowed a lot!

Mi padre que en paz descanse...Mi señor padre, compro en 1979 un Ford LTD modelo 78, cuando yo tenia 4 años.!! y lo vendio hasta 1999, y les puedo asegurar, que era un carrazo, Rojo, dos puertas, hard top, electrico, aire acon, defroster, rines anchos, Todos en la familia lo manejamos, a mi me lo prestaba para ir a la prepa en algunas ocasiones,,yo lo encere muchas veces y lo llevaba al lavado de autos...que recuerdos. ahora ..el auto lo vendio mi padre, y el se fue al cielo.

eran la comodidad heca coche, una marcha muy suave, una mecanica a toda prueba, tragones si quieren, pero en esa epoca la gasolina era regalada, su consumo cuando muy generoso seria de 5 km/l y esa potencia era maravillosa, ahora no se quejen, los S.U.V. modernos de marcas americanas dan un rendimiento casi similar, no dan mas de 8 km/l y ahora la gasolina sube y sube.

Ni modo en gustos se rompen géneros. Los que alguna vez por aquellos años vivimos de la mecánica, eran estupendos autos aun con lo largotes. Fueron el símbolo de toda una época así como los de los 60´s. Mi cuñado posee un galaxie 500 mod 72 y yo un Ford maverick 77 y siguen remontándonos a esa bonita época. saludos a todos los foristas.

@hmmful1, mi padre tuvo dos Galaxies 500, uno 71 y otro 73. Ya después yo un Grand Marquis 1984 junto con un Maverick 1973. Ya no los tenemos, pero eso si eran carros. ¡Ahora solo VW y Atos! la gas está cara.

Este Galaxie no me gusta es demasiado grande parece lancha se ve muy pesado y que gasta gasolina hasta por los codos, el mejor Galaxie que se ha hecho fue el modelo Galaxie Sunliner fabricados de 1960 a 1964 y en general los coches en los 60s eran mas bonitos los de los 70s ya eran lanchas no me gustan.

Looking at the speedometer at 0:47, although the image is not all that sharp, it look like it is marked 0 to 220 KPH, instead of 0 to 120 MPH. That would be very rare to find since all of the cars sold in the US or Canada would be in MPH in 1973.

wow! a cool video..that car has the "74 LTD" grill with galaxie 500 rear markings, also not the floor shift and lack of heater/AC controls on the dash. Much differant then the armerican 73 Ford sold in the US.
