That entire April was extremely warm. If I recall correctly, there was a heat wave that April and it hit the mid 90s. There were several severe storms a couple of weeks before that (at least in the Baltimore area). I was on my way from NJ to Baltimore at the time and I remember that same line of storms coming through the I-95 corridor, but it was not as severe as what they got in Southern MD and Virginia.
I was at work when it happened, and when the hail started coming down we all had to get to the center of the store (wal mart) and it was intense hearing the wind. looking back now and how much the town has grown really makes you think how much worse it could have been
What's under the cover? Hope it wasn't damaged and if it was, hope it wasn't damaged too severely. I never seen any filmage of the La Plata tornado. Thanks for posting.

Why shouldn't we? We saw exactly what you see in the video. Does THAT look like an F$ tornado tearing up the Town of La Plata? No, it doesn't. At the time all I thought I was recording was a weak tornado passing by.
