I NEVER SAW IT "SHOOT". SORRY BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR MORE THAN A LOT OF FLY BYS AND BARREL ROLLS. I LIKE THE IDEA, JUST WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF WHAT IT CAN DO WITH THE GUN.

@wardog0688 Used a small saw and Dremel to cut off everything besides the barrel and firing mechanism. Then just hooked it up to a lipo battery on board the plane that was remotely controlled by a switch on my TX.

@olinga1 My A-10 has two 68mm EDF's so it depends on which A-10 you are comparing mine too. The A-10's out there with twin 55mm or twin 64mm EDF's probably can't hadle much more weight. But a twin 70mm or larger could.

@LoneWolfSonOfErick easy really,  plane..as a model sucks, flys nice tho i admit, airsoft stuck in the front is a lame attempt ..then. after it says target spotted. infidel...the video capture of the airsoft firing is complete shit.. completely crap. we do lot better than that so i feel its my right . to say . this sucks , and the planes gay, and the camera fitted onoards crap. blah blah blah ...disliked ;)

@LucasWitt15 Yes it was hard to aim =). The radio system I use is capable of safly controlling the plane beyond the distance I can see it with my eyes. The airsoft BB gun on board only shoots about 100 feet or less.

@batteryman54 Good question. They are actually biodegradable airsoft BB's made by Crosman. Pretty cool product huh. Very easy to find at your local Walmart or other fine airsoft supplier.

I see no way why this would jeporadize the sport, Obviously Mikey is responsible, and isn`t dumb enough to do anything harmful. You can have a gun and shoot it right? so why can`t he use a less lethal Plastic BB Gun And mount it on an aircraft, and cause less of a threat, than a crazy person with a carrying permit.

It's videos like this that is making the FAA consider putting heavy restrictions on rc aircraft. Any rc plane that can carry a payload or is rigged to shoot projectiles can be considered a serious security threat. It's fun to rig up your planes to shoot pellets, bottle rockets, etc, or drop eggs or parachutes, but posting them on Youtube for anyone to see is not a wise idea for those who wish to continue to enjoy this hobby.

If you read my other reply to the one other person who felt similarly as you, you will see this operation was conducted in a safe manor and at worst would have given me a red mark on my skin as the very low power airsoft gun only shoots at best 175 FPS.

Then I could say that your video of destroying a lipo watch?v=2spmDaexms8 could destroy our hobby as it will give someone the idea to do that to a bigger more dangerous lipo and cause a major fire that causes destruction of person or property bringing in the lawyers thusly banning the sale of lipos. Might even bring in the EPA and environmentalists saying that toxic smoke was bad for the air?

He even referred to "Youtube" videos in one of his articles. While your video was made in fun, and I must admit I enjoyed it, it does nothing but fuel the fire that the AMA is trying to contain. I actually had a video on Youtube of a buddy firing a model rocket from his Slowstick. I removed the video after reading about the concerns such videos pose

Now that I said that, may I ask something from a fan (human not EDF) perspective? :) I would personally love to see some detailed single/twin engine scratchbuild - something good for FPV - good payload and also, lots of flight time! @MikeysRC I said I love ALL your vids so I've seen them ALL already :) I've watched that YC-14 buildout like a kid unwraps his Christmas presents BUT it was kinda disapointing that too lilttle attention was given to the propeller wing. I know there are people out there that like the cool sound of inefficient EDFs but I'm sure there are lots more judging from a efficience point of view. That being told, I can't wait your next move :)

But....curious....many RC helis fly pretty fast so if the same gun was used wouldn't the "problem" of the BB's leaving the barrel the same speed of the aircraft be the same? Plus the speed of the BB's would actually be the speed of the aircraft plus the speed that they leave the barrel.

@mrbuki77 Good thinking. Actually is does have flaps / spoilerons and they were activated for all the passes over Bin LameO. The problem was that there was a cross wing and made the plane fly sideways to the target. I ever tried using the rudders at the last minuet bust it was still hard to line up.

Do you really think that putting a toy gun on an RC plane is a good idea? Don't you think that this will encourage kids to do this and maby endanger our hobby? Yah I am being extreme but IMHO I think this is a bad idea. Cool but not smart.

@E744763Productions Ahhh yes I expected comments like this. It's a 175 FPS plastic BB gun. The plastic BB's only go about 70 feet before they loose velocity / momentum. There was no one around besides me (with eye protection) for at least a 1/4 mile with to get hit. The real danger is people being reckless with RC helicopters like what happened in Florida many months ago. I'm sure kids these days are plenty creative enough with out my help to endanger the hobby if they wanted too.

@E744763Productions an airsoft gun is barely dangerous at all. anyone should be using eye protection but even with a shot to the eye with one usually doesnt cause permanent damage. besides u cant buy these things unless ur 18 in most places so whoever is supplying it to the kid (that is if u really think a kid would be able to make this properly) should be responsible enough to make sure he/she is using it properly
