I think this kind of reflection in moden times has came from people like J Krishnamuthi and Osho Rajneesh. Although they did endorse some colonial constructs on Indic traditions. As they stressed upon experiential process they were true to indian traditions. And these two have been quite influential in shaping thought on India worldwide.
