It's said that this system had a much higher success rate against TBMs and even MRBMs than the Patriot system. It is said that it achieved a 92% kills against ballistic missiles, a performance that Patriot never even got close to. I think it was a big mistake for the US army to replace this system with the Patriot. They should've kept both of them in service.
@StiviGun1 I don't know where you got that crap. The Hawk has never been documented to have been used against a ballistic missile in combat. It, like the PAC-1 and 2 Patriots, was never really designed to engage ballistic missiles. It's not even particularly good against aircraft. The original missiles achieved kills around 25% to 33% of the time (theoretical kill probability .56). The improved versions upped this to about 60% (.86 theoretical) under combat conditions.
Nice video! served as launcher crew for 1 year on the ph3 with a kongsberg BFDC, impressive system, but practicaly decorative nowdays, quite limited mobility for a mobile system and not fire and forget, not to mention a quite large balistic course rendering it useless against close threats
Russians talk so much shit about their advanced technologies while feeding soldiers dog food donated by Western world and paying soldiers $5 per month
might have been phase 1. When I went through training it was just the ICWAR, HIPIR and the PCP. I guess they might have used PAR at the BDE level..who knows. Thanks for you service brother.

@Nater245689 Someone on YT told me about this. But where did you get these figures? Do you have a link?

Lol, it's amazing just how big those missiles are. When not next to a truck or men for comparison, they look like they're hellfire-missile sized xD

This was replaced by the Patriot system. The hardess part of this system was running those bulky cables to each piece of equipment.
