@honesty1795 It's a metaphor. If you're going to ask questions like those, you might as well ask how he tripped over the bread and why it made him go back. Those questions are meaningless, since the movie is not meant to be realistic. Have we forgotten how to read metaphors, for Christ's sake?
guys i gotta ask you one thing. currently i am doing beng (engineering) at a uni in liverpool.(i am from india btw) and i just want to know if i can apply for the MFA degree at tisch school of the arts considering that i am doing engineering. would be great if someone has the answer to this question. thanks in advance. cheers.....
Actors from a local amatuer circus? I bet you shot this with $10 budget which you spent on buying chocolate-chip cookies and tried to assemble the Oscar-winning actors in Stop & Shop.
Did you have to get the rights to this song or not? Just wondering because I am applying to emerson college and I have to make a portfolio also. I have a few videos that have actual songs on them and I didn't know if I needed to get copyrights or anything for them. thanks!
Dude, this is so chill it's awesome. Ya know, it's not like it has an intricate story or lots of characters or anything like that, it's just two dudes having epic bro time. Haha.
I think your shots could have been a little stronger from 7:00-end, excluding the frontal shot @ 8:36. Maybe some more close ups like you had around 2:10? The acting was impressive, and the vid/audio quality is superb. Clearly NYU peeps thought this was awesome, too. Great job, man.
This is really good! I love how "real" you made it, a simple plot line and beautiful scenery. I've been thinking about going to Tisch myself for photography. Even though I have lots of time to think about it, what do you think of it so far? Oh and awesome Strokes soundtrack :)
@527veronica Hey, I saw your comment from my old channel and I wanna say thanks. I haven't been to Tisch yet as I start in the Fall of 2011 but I'm quite excited. I may not do photography, but I know their program is world class with many wonderful opportunities. So consider it, research, and even visit the campus, I'm sure you'll find how great the program is!
@GetYourPyon I plan on going to the drama depermant of tisch but I still wonder, did you do an early descion ap? And if so did they give you a good amount of finical aid.
@AbiBerkarya Ya the camera mic on the dslr are really crappy so I bought a H4n field recorder for like $300. It's really worth it. Thanks for the comment!
This is so impressive! It keeps with the title, as it should! And the framing is for beauty, yeah, duh that's the point of films; you watch for life magnified. I like it, man. Keep it up.
pretty good! the dialogue at the end of the story (next to the lake) should be a bit louder. The ending seems kind of corny, but that's just my opinion. I'm a bit confused though at how the bread got there to trip him. Just seemed random to me. Good job though and hope you make it in!
@gosainsuhit It looks like shots were framed for beauty. It doesn't matter bc they don't judge on stuff like that. Framing isn't that bad, it's just kinda odd at some points and some issues with head room.
Well Done dude.. Though your beginning credits were a bit drawn out long as that Dmytro guy said. I also think you could've made the dialogue a bit more energetic, in the sense that it seems more natural. That way you have less of a chance of boring your viewers. Other than those two things I say once again, Well Done! It's nice to see good work and true talent. PS. Your audio is really clean... Is that post production? Man! I have these annoying audio problems when I use my Sony Hx1.
this was pretty good and well made. I too am interested in applying to NYU for Tisch in the film program and was just looking up some past or new submissions.
When they argue near the river it would be better if they had some movement so camera would move too, because you have too much dialoged when they are just standing. Some movement will make the scene more interesting.
The ring tone should be little bit quitter and not stereo, because it gives up that you just added the music. May be it is better if someone actually called him?
When they have the dialogue you made a mistake of not following the 180 degree rule, it is very important.
In my opinion the beginning - cast, directed by.... - is a little too long for a 10 min. film. It will annoy the judge, because he has to watch 100 other portfolio films.
Also, when he says, “It is crashed” it is better to show a close up so we can see his emotions, reaction.
I'd like it if you tell me how you recorded the audio. like what did you use and how it became so clear? nice work by the way.

@mkp279 What!? That was the best part. I thought it was intentional. Gives the film a Tom Sawyer like feel.
