@ObamAtheist i, like many atheists, am very much bible literate. reading the bible beginning to end was when i first realized i was a skeptic. a book full of impossible unbelievable stories that depict an evil god that loves us. a god that has been neither good or benevolent in the book. a loving omnipotent god and all he came up with for his last trick was to let a bunch of newborns slaughtered so his only son could get beaten and crucified? i wouldn't even have respect for such a beast.

@ObamAtheist as for abortion. why do xians make it sound like it's some kind of heathen sport? nobody should take abortion lightly, it is always a tough decision but sometimes it is the right one. abortion is NOT birth control and those who use it as such need counseling. equally important is proper sex ed. the condom, one of the greatest inventions in preventative medicine ever invented.it's iresponsable and stupid, on so many levels, not to teach this to our kids.

What deities do we worship? How do we pray? What religious holidays do we as Atheists hold dear and are protected by the government? What religious traditions or sacraments do we utilize in our everyday existence?

Actually abortion DOES saves the lives of the mother in cases of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, certain std's, Auto-immune disorders etc.

But what would I know? I was only a HM3 in the United States Navy where I saw first hand (even in the civilian sector) just how that process effectively saves the life of the mother.

Why would anyone in their right mind allow the baby to be born in those circumstances in critical condition and jeopardize the health of the mother as well?

For every abortion that occurs, there are two or more natural miscarriages from women who really want their baby. How do you explain this? Is God unable to heal a woman's womb so she doesn't miscarry? Or does God just not care?

I am not blaming God for miscarriages, they are natural occurances. I do have to wonder why God is so furious about human caused abortions, but shrugs his shoulders when it comes to the many more natural abortions.

I simply made the point that God is either unwilling or unable to stop miscarriages. The only answers I get is that the world is saturated with death and suffering, like that is supposed to make me feel better.

To address your point: I think lions kill gazelles because that is what they naturally evolved to do. They did not grow fangs and start to hunt because Adam ate a piece of fruit.

jase, no, I didn't see the trailer, but just the longer "Behind the Scenes" vid I mentioned, but there was a crying scene in that & it didn't seem bad...just like regular crying to me. I'll check out the trailer. To be fair, I am so not into preachy Christian vids, if a doctrinal message is conveyed in a Christian movie without being pedantic, love it, but if it's forced, I grown. The Moment After (original, *not* the sequel), w/ David White (this movie's producer) is example of one I loved.
