  • Kung fu is more like in the yoga and tai chi category,it's not really intended to fend off would-be attackers. BJJ,on the other hand will enable you to single handidly defeat a small military! Convert to Bjj an u wont be disappionted!

  • @clasheraz1 So let me get this straight... You would use BJJ against someone with a knife? Let me visualize this...You have them in guard trying out your latest pass, while they stab you? You would try to get someone into side control, when they have friends waiting to baseball bat you on the back of the head? Let me see... yeah, you are not brainwashed.

  • I like the demo but no one trying to hurt you stops at on strike, or would stop their forward motion in a real fight.

  • @Chijaytava believe me, if the attacker didn't stop his forward momentum, it would end badly for the the attacker. and there are answers for combo attackes as well. its a demo. plus kung fu guys are taught never to reveal their best stuff....

  • Kung Fu is definitively involves fighting technic, but somehow I did notice that those who are primarily specialized in and from them aren't in major championships of mixed fighting or showed their advantages at large. There are many from Karate. I know Karate take root from Shaolin and so forth.

  • all you need in a real street fight is to get in a lucky shot thats how many real street fights by 2 average guys are won. Most street fights are not 2 "fighters" going at each other, it happens but most are just 2 guys fighting and the lucky punch or kick ends it or one is just outclassed by a brawler. This guy is good for what it is so why don't you all just shut up and don't watch if you don't like

  • Looks fun

  • I like this vid. It's look simply but efficiently.

  • muito bom,ótimas técnicas de kung-fu.

  • @insertname25

Wrong. MMA may have rules today, but it began with none.

In fact, the Gracie challenge frequently saw kung fu vs bjj. The grappler always won.

The so-called "deadly" techniques didn't work very well while the kung fu guy was pinned on his back, getting choked unconscious.

  • @bluesdealer real kung fu is rare. most kung fu schools out there don't train the traditional way. no disrespect to the Gracies (i've taken GJJ in the past & they're great at what they do) but i don't believe the Gracie's ever challenged a real kung fu guy.

  • This doesnt seem realistic at all to me... It is just a 100% controlled and choreographed simulation... And, if it were so efficient, why don’t we see one single kung-fu martial artist performing on MMA events?

  • @rogeriomrcampos Honestly, I am so tired of you keyboard warriors repeating the same comments as the last 5 commentators. I looked over YOUR channel. A similar question would be, why don't we see one single video of YOU performing at a mma event. Look at the last 5 people to comment on my video. Not one single video of them showing their martial skills. You are the definition of a keyboard warrior.

  • @rogeriomrcampos Because mma has rules and kung-fu breaks them. Much of it is too dangerous for sport. It also takes decades to master, all by itself. Much of what you see on tv as "mma" is performed by college wrestlers who were just taught to throw a punch a few years ago.

    apples and oranges.

Get the idea out of your head that "mma" is any more of a real depiction of fighting than any other fighting technique. It's a sport.

  • I don't think the title of this video is justified. You mention a lot of other things you incorporate in to sparring against a resisting opponent: why not make a video of them and title that realistic?

The techiques shown here you are rooted to the spot and your punches are short and you have no guard. It does not allow for the fact that your opponent might even slightly know what their doing, or have a longer reach than you.

  • @Teghead this type of training is obvious designed with more self defense in mind rather than "dueling". there is a difference which you can find out more about if you do a little research...

  • "most kung fu attacks are proibihited in MMA because they are to dangerous for a arena" guise, guise look MMA is much better than kung fu specially because it works like reality where people will not kick you in the balls or slit a knife down your throat(but don't worry with my guard i can defend from the knife and get only stabbed in the arm instead of the neck much better see?).

  • @anarcojerk most fights are not to kill but to kick ass

  • If these guys were actually masters they wouldnt need a punching bag who just stands there. Theyd be able to take their full strength.

  • las vegas? i wanna see this in the UFC

  • @Xiethetuber I am not good enough for the UFC.

  • @lvshaolin isnt kung fu ban from ufc

  • que le lance golpes may tyson aver si los para XD

  • This fighting demo is similar to choreographed movie fights. It looks impressive to non-practiioners of martial arts.

  • @bloojay66 I looked over your channel. You look super impressive to me and I am a practitioner of martial arts.

  • Kung Fu sucks.. for me its just art no fight technique

  • @meloak47 I looked over your channel. You look super impressive to me and I am a practitioner of martial arts.

  • if someone used kung fu in the UFC.....KNOCK OUT OF THE YEAR LMAO

  • @paybaccthebest Are open hand strikes legal or even possible in UFC?

  • @paybaccthebest small parts of Wing Chung are taught into MMA and UFC.. But it ends up not being used by the fighter.

  • you'll never see it in sparring.....never

  • @Vbudo Maybe just maybe.....you have never seen it in sparring because you have never sparred someone who has learned it?

  • kung fu always fails in MMA

  • @AaronLani Like you train in MMA.

  • Excellent wing chun

  • i like

  • todas las artes marciales son buenas..

  • Plenty of slap down the opponent's arms and palm heel the opponent's face, which saves your knuckles in a street confrontation.

  • FUCK IT...

  • Cause we all know attackers throw one punch and lean into your strikes with their hands down!

  • nice wing chun, great for fitness useless for fighting.

  • @andrew31593 Since when ?

  • @RECONDO101st Since the dawn of time. Wing chun is retarded.

  • @RECONDO101st you must've been beat up by some little kid practioner.

  • Hi sifu, looks like good solid training. If there's one thing I'd suggest it's starting the drills much much closer. Most of the attacks are coming in from quite a long range whereas a lot of escalation (from verbal to physical) occurs at much closer ranges.

Responding to 'wrong' range attacks is something we see too often in the karate world unfortunately. Though some of us are trying to re-inject a little practicality into training.

  • @bertthepickle if this guy is the from the Arthur Lee of Gee Yung Lineage then i believe that standing arm's length apart is part of the training.

  • very interesting! i was thinking of returning to martial arts but had quit for almost 4 years now since there was so much drama in the cma and mma community i fell out of it.

  • what the hell? I just did a bit of googling, fut ga kuen is actually younger than win chen.... get your facts right....

  • @lvshaolin WTF!?

  • may I ask you which generation are you? why will you say Fut Ga Kuen is the origin of Win Chen?

Fut Ga Kuen is a more recent kind of shaolin martial art, only a tiny bit older than Win Chen...

I am the student of the 34th generation Shaolin disciple Lin Shen Jie, but when I see your punches, it's no where close to Shaolin, not to mention your palming... FAR from Shaolin....

  • also Lets rock baby

  • Wing Chun the best!

  • There isn't really a Shaolin Kung Fu style. It's just a mix of other styles of kung fu.

Shaolin is just marketing to get foreigners to pay for classes.

  • wing chung right ?

  • @MrHAPPYBOMBER most likely its from Arthur Lee's fut gar

  • hahahahahhahahhah

  • kung fu is the ever stylish yet deadly martial arts out there....

  • This is like Fo Han Shaolin Kung Fu.

  • Cool!

  • Actor Chen Kuan Tai east Asia Light heavyweight champion. Actor Carter Wong Has several muay Thai championships. Carter Wong learned karate, hung far, judo, and muay Thai so before mma mania he was one of the first to do it in the 60's and 70's and taught martial arts to Ny state police. Nuff said.

  • hihi I am here to have fun

  • que madriza

  • Whoa this looks awesome.. I wonder if Films of Fury will have anything on this style.. Does it show up in any old kung-fu movies? Because if that's the case, then Films of Fury will possibly have a highlight on it.. Have you heard of this documentary? It features like 120 Kung-Fu movies, and written by Ric Meyers (the Kung-Fu Film theory MAN!).. I saw the trailer and have been reading about it... Super stoked! Check it out bitly .com/ooGvKw Great video by the way!

  • wing chung?.... maybe of course

  • no wonder why it looked remarkably similar to wing chun.

  • Your style looks very similar to my Silat... is that what you were referring to as Filipino Martial Arts ? that kinda threw me... because Silat is from Australia !!

(LOL I mean it's from Java - the Indo/Malay Peninsula)

  • Nig Mui created the Wing Chun style when practicing in a mudjong. She cut the 'arms' of the mudjong so she could hit it (because her arms were kind of too short to reach the wood). Then she invented the style with shortened moviments. She taught it to Wing Chun, and the rest you know.

  • 0:51 My balls!

  • join MMA then post it here. let's see how'd you do with those fancy tricks. :))

  • DAYYUMMM!!! I wanna learn those moves.I'll be a super hero or a super thug.Kicking the shit out of everyone!

  • I have been doing boxing for the last 3 years and I am very interested in any kind of defensive style. So, I am wondering if you got engaged in a fight with an amateur boxer could you still pull out those defensive movements. I mean even in straight very fast accurate punches you could respond like that? Thanks

  • @Existentialexplosion Some techniques work better than others. When I spar I use a lot of Western boxing and intermix the shaolin with it. Many of the blocks can be used in an offensive manner (attacking blocks) I also incorporate my filipino martial arts into my sparring. My best recommendation is to be unpredictable when sparring and try to incorporate any and all fighting techniques.

  • @Existentialexplosion As soon as a boxer shows which hand is his jab hand (his front hand in his stance) you mirror that. So that your already on the outside of his jabs or straight punches, wu sao or tan sao is effective against straight punches or hooks. And since wing chun fighters like to keep arm length distance at all times uppercuts arent a threat.

  • @Existentialexplosion what you'll notice as a boxer if you ever have the chance to come accross a kungfu/silat fighter who actually trains properly is that when your fist/arms clash with his you will feel a lot of pain trust me i had this experience coming from a kickboxing background. in response to your first question it depends on the individual and the training he/she puts in i would give it a try if i were you, one thing i realised is that when you train with gloves 24/7 you train for sport

  • @Existentialexplosion I'm mixing muay thai and japanese jiu jitsu, i don't look too much into the grappling becuase you'll never use it anywhere unless in jiu jitsu fights. but yeah if gives you another point of view against the other fighters moves, ofcourse you can't use your jiu jitsu moves inside a muay thai gala, but you can still use the benefits from it, dodging and countering became a whole different when i started jiu jitsu,

  • Actually a good demo. Many kung fu flics are just stunts and cartwheels that would never be feasible in anything but a movie. These guys use good punching, and I can tell you that it's not bad against a boxer either. They move out of the line of harm and follow up with several punches and elbows right away, very fluid. It's actually good boxing :)

  • Great description. Couldn't have said it better myself lol

  • He get's so many extra punches on that guy because that guy stopped moving on the first touch.

  • @Archergod It's called sparring your partner is compliant so that neither of you are actually hurt if he weren't compliant he would likely have several severe injuries during a real Tae Kwon Do rank testing one of the judges was accidentally knocked unconcious when a student over comitted and caught the artery in his jaw with a side kick and that's all she wrote

  • @Archergod when the momentum of your punch is diverted, it takes a long time to recover, allowing someone to hit many times before having a risk of counterattack. This video is for demonstration only, im sure if this were a real situation they would both be fully commited into the attack

  • that`s boring! i want to see real kicks and punches

  • ASIAN ARE THE BEST IN..NO ONE CAN BEAT THEM..

  • CHINESES ARE THE BEST IN KUNG-FU

  • what kung if this whats the style ?

  • @plexus07 The style is called Fut Ga Kuen. It is the predecessor to Wing Chun Kung Fu.

  • @lvshaolin wut wing chun wasnt created from shaolin for a girl named wing chun? dindt know it has predecessor

  • @IceTigerz The young girl Yim Wing chun had to learn from a teacher. Wing Chun's teacher (the Shaolin Nun Ng Mui) didn't practice Wing Chun as the girl's name was Wing Chun so what style did Ng Mui practice? :)

  • @lvshaolin So cool. Great explanation.

  • lol oh yeah great info comment for the video. never fight with these 3y old idiots. even bjj has lots of limited practise done with a compliant training partner. one needs plenty of repetition for learning any new technique, and u will not be able to do it unless ur partner is giving u a certain impulse over and over again, acting predictably. all those 3y old need to grow older to grow more understanding, or then just end up as bitter old men who the world wants to push away.good luck with that

  • @TheWHITEDEVIL1488 And here is where you a wrong good sir; All of these hits are directed towards "Pressure Points" located all over the human body. these hits could most likely put you out for a while.

  • Looks like some very deadly stuff! :D

  • so lame

  • What a useless bull .....

  • in some counter attacks..imagine if the guy had a hiden blade : 3

  • that was not shaolin .. its a wing chun only .. remember shaolin depends on the 5 animal styles Dragon-Leopard-snake-monkey- and the white crane.. if know about those styles you would figure out what kind of kung fu you are watching... respect to you but truth has to be told.

  • @sadanjd i see a minimum of 90% of wing chun. but u have to remember wing chun is a kind of renegade shaolin style afterall, so if he chooses to call his kung fu shaolin it's up to him

  • That's shaolin and wing chun.

  • The good news is that, statistically, if you are attacked, you'll be attacked by an untrained fighter. It's true there's no such thing as realistic training. I've been training in Krav Maga for almost a year, which is nothing. I got attacked by this punk who I knew and he's a Napoleon complex bully. He beat my ass pretty good after I missed a front kick and slipped on wet asphalt. He kicked me in the head and the ribs. I survived with no serious injuries. I learned.

  • This looks like Wing Tsun...

  • Uuuwataa!

  • Your technique looks nice and smooth. Keep up your training and the positive attitude. That's what real martial arts is all about.

  • wow can u teach me dat style lols :DD very cool

  • How is this any different from Wing Chun?

  • like WingChun ....

  • the problem i have with this videos is that they are no where REALISTIC they signal the first movement way to much.

  • this guy is not even close to real shoalin monk

  • that looks totally like wing chun

  • That said, where is the realistic fighting? These are just technique demos.

  • @Niccomawf i feel same way, it's just a basic showcase of techs that can be applied in a discipline but by bo means is that realistic fighting, just because his ack of controle makes him hit his students balls

    regards

  • Grappling is a perfectly valid fighting option and part of the arsenal of any good all-around fighter. Proper grappling requires some level of skill. I think untrained people resort to grappling because it usually lessens the number of attack options the opponent has. The typical untrained person cannot defend against a flurry of kicks and punches.

  • @Niccomawf

    that's a very good point.

  • U seem to be doing wing chun o.o Could u pleae clear up my doubts o.o Or does shaolin kungfu incoprate wing chun into it

  • if only in reality people in fights just threw one punch then stood still even for waiting for the enemy to strike back. most real fights end up being more to something like grappling.

  • @jay33011211 Reason is: the average dont know how to fight so they grapple and i have seen this in many ocasions

  • This guy is really awesome... It's good to see nice martial artists as him...

    Peace...

    Keno Kurose, Aikidoka

  • ummm... I think he can't block the muaythai kick...and his leg will pain.

  • I like it, would loved to train for 3-6 months for this...

  • I really cannot comprehend why some people thinks that being fast and knowing how to counter any kind of punch will not be useful in real street fight. Is it me or they just hate Chinese martial arts because it's too flashy and they can never learn how to do it?

  • @aj27117

no it's just that everyone is dieing to submit a funny comment, just like with every youtube video.

  • I wish i could learn but even if they would let people be taught i doubt i'd be the lucky one...=/

  • Calm thefuck down it's just a video

  • The guy in red is posing, but good kung fu though. Looks like Wing Chun.

  • what so Realistic? why always only a demo and say it is Realistic? i see only a dump walk into the battle and let the dumper doing somthing

  • stupid people talking shit about ufc, mma or pride is all this and that.. Geez, all those are just fighting sports and not real life self dense. People should understand sport fighting is different from real life self defense.. All fighting styles are good but it's depending on the person knowing how to use it.

  • I could see these moves working on your average brawler who throws big, dumb punches. A dangerous attacker is gonna commit their whole body to an attack, because they just want to hurt you, not box with you. I can see self-defense martial arts working well in those situations.

But if a person gets into a boxing stance and starts dancing around, throwing jabs and feints, he probably doesn't really want to fight anyway. People worry too much about dealing with punches from a trained boxer.

  • @demoskunk BROAHHH FUCK YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE KUNG FU WING CHUN IS THE BEST ALL CHINESE MOVES ARE THE BEST YOU MOTHERFUCKER Ok I do Wing chun Shaolin Kung Fu Hung Gar Pray Mantis I know A 100 FUCKING FORMS AND I COLD TAKE ON ANY STREET FIGHTER FUCKING GAY JIJITSU OR MMA FAGGOT or any Spic White or Nigger my Kung Fu styles would work on a brawler in fact THEY ARE TOO ILLEGAL MY SIFU COULD KILL YOU ALL so I dont think anyone is more Dangerous than me or my Sifu broaahh Kung Fu beats ALL

  • @Kazuya4Mishima i dont think so,and im not just talking ,i saw a fight between a kind of a wrestler but his stance resembled some1 who does muay thai,i think hes an MMA or something and the other guy seemd to use kung fu ,wat can i say at first the mma dude attacked and the kung fu guy did some kind of a counter attack or wutever but after that the mma guy got him into the ground and locked him...

  • @Kazuya4Mishima Care to explain you logic on that one it's not the martial arts being used it's the skill of the fighter and forms and Kata aren't anything but you fighting an imaginary opponent the way my instructor taught was simple for the first hundred times your opponents are invisible for the second hundred times only you see your opponents for the third hundred times everyone sees them forms are just a way of perfecting and showing off a technique not meant to be used in a real situation

  • @undevelopedproducer EXPALIN WHAT JERKOFF? I HAVE THE FUCKING SKILLS DUMBASS and Wing Chun Kung Fu Pray Mantis are the FUCKING BEST STYLES EVER USED CHINA INVENTED MARTIAL ARTAS AND Ip Man was the best Wing Chun is the fucking best ITS THE MOST BUTAL AND ILLEGAL FIGHTING STYLE and dont fucking talk shit about my forms MY MOVES are not allowed in the UFC so any MMA fighter would be crying with missing eyes blinded and KILLED WITH 2 HITS BROAHH NO ONE EVER TRIED TO FIGHT A WING CHUN GUY

  • @undevelopedproducer FUCK YOU Wing Chun is the most DEADLY LETHAL FIGHTING STYLE KUNG FU WING CHUN PRAY MANTIS BEATS ALL Ip Man was the best China created fighting so FUCK YOU BROAGHH any MMA fighter would be kileld by my Wing Chun moves we beat them all because my moves ARE ILLEGAL BROAHH any Wing chun Pray MANTIS KUNG FU moves would not be allowed I could rip some fags eyes out blind them and kill them fi their an MMA how about I FUCK YOUR SISTER NOW in my Kung Fu penthouse so SHUT UP

  • @Kazuya4Mishima Really 'Broahh' your a real martial artist threatening a guy after he said that martial arts is about the skill of the fighter not the martial arts itself I agree Ip Man was an amazing martial artist he trained Bruce Lee who is known as a martial arts legend but martial arts is much like a weapon it's useless in the hands of an incapable fighter but when used by a master it becomes truly frightening

  • @undevelopedproducer I am I skilled Kung Fu Wing Chun FGHTER YOU DUMBASS MOTHERFUCKER AND SO ARE ALL MY KUNG FU FRIEND STUDENTS YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT FUCKING NIGGER FUCKING WHITE BOY and my Sifu was trained in the Ip man Lineage you stupid fuck dont you fucking think I know what your talking about you FUCKHEAD BROAH? William Cheung was too and he TRAINED MY SIFU and I know all the FUCKING MOVEST TO MAIM OR KILL YOU ASSHOLE

  • @demoskunk

lol true people worry about fighting a trained fighter sometimes. It's usually worse in your head then it is in reality! At the sametime never underestimate your opponent!

  • better use head..............

  • legal isso

  • Martial Arts designed for real fighting always doesn't look real in the camera. And those BS (MMA in particular) designed to look good for the camera, and all those hype about fighting against a "real non complaint" opponent are purely marketing hype to attract ppl watching their shows.

Real fights always result in serious injury or death. So practically it cannot happen outside a simulated environment. Do any of those real but mysteriously safe MMA fights resulted in death?

  • @yottky you're retarded

  • because in realistic fighting you don't actually hit the guy, just sop an inch away from his face

  • looks good!

  • I'd love to see this practitioner have an actual sparring match, don't think it'll look this pretty.

  • @qzniel Of course it wouldn't look this pretty just as when a fight goes to the ground on the street a grappler will not look as good as he would in a contolled MMA match.

  • @TakgeyonBlackbelt

The only problem with your theory is this:

1.) Grapplers actually grapple, there is nothing pretty about. No silly forms. Grab what you need to grab, and put it into an uncomfortable position.

2.) You're admission of how it wouldn't look the way it does if it was real - is proof this is staged nonsense. If in a real fight, the person attacking me threw one perfect, well-timed, telegraphed punch - I could also look awesome.

  • @qzniel The only one problem with your theory is this:

    1. Contrary to popular belief, Some kung fu fighters actually fight. You won't see lots of it stateside however. I wrote a long post on another thread about how I wittnessed the demise of a well known MMA fighter at the hands of a 50ish Jow Ga master. I am a certified instructor in Muay Thai, trained in Bangkok. I am also a blue belt in Gracie Jiu hitsu.

  • @TakgeyonBlackbelt

... and those last two things are what would help you win.

  • @qzniel If by "last two things" you mean Muay Thai and BJJ then that is the response I'd expect from a couch potato warrior who has spent no time in the ring or cage. Originally, I went into BJJ about 14 years ago based upon all the hype. I found that, although a very effective means of combat it has it's limitations. Same with Muay Thai. I am qualified to be an instructor in both. Any combat training you have will help you in the long run.

  • @qzniel Since then I have traveled all over Asia and trained in 5 different traditional styles. Many times I have been humbled at the hands of a traditional master. Contrary to popular MMA lore, there ARE actually badass traditional masters who could clean the floor with most MMA hotshots who care nothing about the fame and fortune awaiting them in the cage. The whole "Kung fu is crap" thing goes bach to when Royce Beat that Deluca guy in one of the early UFC's.

  • @qzniel Deluca was a ridiculously bad Kung Fu guy who had trained stateside and he had previously trained with Royce so Royce knew he'd be easy pickings. I know the Gracies. I trained directly under them. I have all the respect in the world for them and I know firsthand how tough they are. But I've also met others who are equally tough and in some ways I'd say way more. BJJ is a piece of the overall puzzle. It's not an end in itself.

  • @qzniel Equally, a lage portion of Muay Thai techniques are ineffective for street combat or bar room brawling. It will condition you, give you rock hard confidence, and provide you with a handful of ready techniques that are very effective. Coincidentally, so will nearly every other style out ther worth it's salt which includes most of them trained effectively and that last comment is the key. Anyway that's the take from a guy who knows Rorion on a first name basis. Cheers.

  • @TakgeyonBlackbelt

    "a COMPLIANT partner"

show me a video of you against someone else trying to beat you. Until you do so, you will always sound like someone making an excuse.
