  • How about a wire protector? How about first using the front channel of the crimping tool to give the crimp bead a nice oval shape to fit it easier into the back channel? Kind of shallow and unprofessional. After crimping it's flat as you said instead of making a nice four time folded shape to be able to hide it perfectly under a crimp cover.

  • Love the vids, and love that Southern accent...perky!

  • This helped so much! I'm supposed to be doing a beading project with about 30 kids and I had to learn how to crimp.

  • How is this a "beading basics tutorial"? She starts out talking about tools and beads and terms that I have no idea what they are or how they work... A basic tutorial should include things like explanations about terms and tools.

  • Wow that's way simpler than I thought it would be! I love crafting small objects, always have, and I think I want to make something like this for my mom for Christmas. Thanks for the video!

  • Thank you, I always wanted to make jewelry. I have a sterling silver bracelet w/BALI style beads that no longer fits me.I want to re-make it myself to fit the size I am now by stringing them and & a few more beads. Now I know what the crimping beads are used for :). Since I do not how far this will take me, must I buy all those pliers at first? I sort of want to see how it goes with my first bracelet before spending too much money on tools. What size of wire is best to use for durability?

  • @SENSUALBLISSINSFL Tho' I'm not the instructor or associated with her, I'd suggest finding a craft or bead store near you that has classes or even open studio time -- they might let you try out some tools if you make a purchase of other beads. The smaller stores, especially -- like if you can talk to the owner -- should be happy to.

  • You are adorable. and a great teacher. Ive been neading for almost five years now and it still takes me so much time to make sure my crimp is done perfect. lol. And can add your cute southern acent melts my heart????? Anyway you should be very proud of your work and your teaching abilty.... Kristy, Mew Hampshire

  • good video but all the jewelry and fake nails make it very distracting to focus on what you are teaching.

  • those fingernails make it look so difficult.

  • Your nails are so distracting, I can't stop looking at them!. They're beautiful but not for a tutorial.

  • this is soo cool

  • ewe you talk funny and look funny muahahah im soo mean

  • hi,

Can you suggest a source for buying real POWER gemstone beads. Like the ONyx, White Jade, rose quartz etc. I want to make a bracelet, but I don't know authentic bead sellers on the net.

  • Karlas' nails are great. I have long nails and always have. Guess what? You wouldn't believe all the things you can do BECAUSE you HAVE them. They're great for collecting small seed beads, as they act as scoopers . :) I'd be lost without them.

  • Karla, you ROCK!

  • hey,

Like to say a big thank you to Karla, been watching your instructions forever,

    you are the best.

too all the small minded catty, people who can only comment on her nails,

get a life, her nails are great, learn to not be so petty.

    again Karla GREAT Stuff alway

  • I'd rather have the nails than the subtitles on Expertvillage videos!!!

  • You should visit jacquelinescrafts.webs.com for beaded crafts and much more!

  • I am a visual person so thank you very much for this video. As for those commenting on your nails, wonder if any of them have ever picked up a crimp bead? It's not easy! LOL

  • Lose the nails...

  • thanks Karla you video are always easy to follow!

  • thank you!!!! love it

  • Great video and tutorial but was unable to see some of the finer details due to those long nails! Pity.

  • BEES?

  • Thank you very much for sharing!

  • Thank you for the informative video! I am interested in using a crimp bead cover, would you use the same size crimp bead & cover or would the cover be a larger size. Am so new @ this. Thanks

  • You make it look so easy. Thanks for sharing. 5***** and sub you.

  • do you have a niece named hannah??

  • you are the absolute BEST!

  • I have been watching you tube for over a week, all I wanted to learn was how to make a simple keychain, and then I found your videos, they are wonderful, easy to follow and your explanation are great and very professionable. I decided I am going to try my hand at eye glass holders and wire earrings, I know I can do it with the help of your videos.

  • NOW I get it!!! thank you for taking the time to do this video!

  • great video

  • great video

  • This is an excellent video on beading basics! One of the best that I've seen on how to use crimp beads.

  • Are all beading trays these flimsy flocked plastic?

I'd like to think theres got to be a more professional wooden or stiff plastic version of what we're all using.... Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Wonderful! I looked through several bead books and tons of vids--finally found this one. Was just what I was looking for. Needed to know how to use the crimp beads to loop the wire with findings. Lovely!

  • Very nice video!

  • i loved this video! everything was explained in very simple way and the work is nice! as well as nails ;) huh. thanx xx

  • i just wanted to ask you a question because i use just a regular plier for mooshing the crimp bead. is it bad or does it actualy matter?

  • You make it seem so easy! Thanks!

  • So cool! I love all of your vids. And I love that ring your wearing on your middle finger! Did you make it? If you did, you totally need video of how to make that ring!

  • I have seen many of Karla's videos & they are all excellent!

It would be great if Karla would make a video of how to bead around a cabochon without using any backing.

    Here's hoping?

  • Awesome! I am going to use that technique. I never thought of putting the wire back through the crimping wire. :)

  • Thank you for the video! I love the wire ring you are wearing on your middle finger. Did you make this? I would love to see a video of how to make these.

  • that wire ring is amazing, isnt it? i was watching this and looked over at my spool... i have a project for the day.

  • Karla...thanks. It really helps a lot!

  • karla your a genious i am so glad i am following these instructions.. bren

  • it was nice, but it was hard to see somethings, also in your other videos, because of the angle.

  • Thank you for this. Not having anyone with whom to work I have never tried the wire and crimp technique but your video taught it well.
