I actually first heard this on Carl Sagan's Cosmos (ep 3) and never knew what it was for years until just today when I heard a story on NPR where they mentioned its connection with 1Q84 and played this. I'm definitely interested in the book now
while I have yet to read 1Q84 , it hasn't been released in the US yet, but I'm looking forward to it! I am so happy that all this people discoved Leos Janacek because of it, he is my favorite composer, I think his works are brilliant and I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves!
i was wondering how it sounds this music. im reading the book 1Q84 im now on site 472 and since for first sites I wonder how sounds the meoldie of jacek's sinfonietta :) THX HARUKI MURAKAMI greetings from Switzerland
there were 3 moments (while reading 1Q84), when i wanted to hear sinfonietta: after Aomame started talking about it in the cab, after she realized what made the change, and after we read that Tengo used to play drum part :)
By the way, I think that the book is much more better than this sinfonietta
