i personally think the battle of the heroes music wasn't needed, it's the prequals that need to tie in to the originals, not the other way around :p but still, i like the rest of it

I like the inclusion of the music to the fight. It ties in the prequels in a much better way that what Lucas did with Vader saying Nooo in Jedi.

(not shown in this clip) I also like the inclusion of the Imperial March score and the Emperor score when Tarkin, Vader and the rest of the Imperial Leaders are around the table talking about the Force vs. the Death Star... good stuff

Showing the Falcon actually flying through space during the battle and not just sitting there like a dead duck not only makes this scene more exciting, but also logical. I wish more things like that were added to the SE, and not Greedo shooting first or more dewback lizards running around or whatever.

I generally don't like people messing with George's work, especially since this is my favorite movie sequence of all time (and Mr. Lucas, apparently, literally cut it shot for shot himself) but this works very well. Good job on creating another perspective on something I love.

Well, Adywan, you are a master of movie cut. You did overall a better job making Star Wars more epic than George Lucas did. But the music, Battle of the heroes, doesnt fit at that at all. I should have been silence when everybody knew that the old man could die there.

i like it but it doesnt make sense. If the falcon is trying to escape then why cant it. Its already clear that it can outrun most ships and we know that it did it in empire and jedi when ties were after it. Plus the idea of having no music was great because it was the first time anybody saw lightsabers in action. The theater was (i dont know im a teen) quite when observing this awesome battle. The opera just makes it seem out of place and forced. But the saber colors are better so ok.

2 things wrong i see. Battle of the heroes music. I agree it was dramatic, but it upset the established mood. At 2:48 han's gun isnt shooting but it still making shooting sounds. fix the gun... I dunno about the music

I loved the small things. It was an improvement of the small red screens that did it for me ...in fact, bringing all the displays up to Star Wars universe spec was something that I wondered about the DVD releases. Why GL would go to all that trouble to update the Yavin IV dogfights but still leave Tarkin's display console reading time in 1/24ths of a second (and the times spoken didn't correspond to the display) bothered me a little. Nice of adywan to correct that!

Great addition at 3:25! Wonderful work makes it even more dynamic than the original! Lucas needs to see this and a) hire Adywan (presuming he already hasn't!) and b) re-release this movie with changes like this.

Great work overall, but I have one question. It sounds as if the either the entire clip, or at the very least the TIE/Falcon duel, was sped up somewhat - the music is almost exactly one-half step higher than the original. Was this intentional, or is it a result of YouTube's compression?

The Millenium Falcon is now rollin and moving arround and not estacionary. Many redone shots of the TIEs and orange Falcon laser bolts firing at them.. modified display in the targeting display and the star field move to show the Falcon maneouvering

Wow! Great job! With the Falcon flying in the TIE-fighter attack scene makes it a lot better. In both the original and the '97 edition Han Solo's ship looks like standing (but hey, it's the fastest ship in the Galaxy!!!!)

I agree about the music during the duel being a bit much. The TIE Fighter attack was really cool though. I liked seeing the red lasers in the exterior shots and also seeing things outside the windows that weren't there before. It really adds realism to the scene.
