Unless the conditions are perfect (like 2am) all of our local law enforcement have agreed not to chase misdemeanor suspects and the CHP has agreed not to chase on a large section of hiway 17 (one of the deadliest roads in the US) It's not perfect but at least they wont be chasing shoplifters and traffic warrants.

Granted the police should have waited for clearer roads however the driver fleeing the officers drove off the road to avoid the barricade and then drove straight back on the road with out reducing speed, flipping his SUV. The driver fled from police so he is responsible for the results of that decision.

Cops are suppose to stop any pursuit that might put innocent bystanders at harm. But all cops want, is that special bust or some lime light that they caught the suspect. Its getting out of hand. This was a law in the town i lived in but my cousin is dead because the officer disobeyed the law. It was after midnight when the officer chased him outside of town until he ran into the back of a stopped semi trailer. The officer was later fired for disobeying the law but was not charged.

@seanmaln Don't you think it would have been better to place the spike strips where there was less traffic, or have the stopped cars move? The spikes were a good idea but they can't bring a fleeing suspect/vehicle to a controlled stop. What the cops need are large armored vehicles with an actuated steel wall that can "catch" a car. Can you picture it?.... BOOM!

@toddyallen33 Spike strips are a legitimate way to safely stopping a police pursuit. Granted the police should have waited for clearer roads however the driver fleeing the officers drove off the road to avoid the barricade and then drove straight back on the road with out reducing speed, flipping his SUV. The driver fled from police so he is responsible for the results of that decision.
I dislike the police as well, but be smart about it fucktard.

Cops are suppose to stop any pursuit that might put innocent bystanders at harm. But all cops want, is that special bust or some lime light that they caught the suspect. Its getting out of hand. This was a law in the town i lived in but my cousin is dead because the officer disobeyed the law. It was after midnight when the officer chased him outside of town until he ran into the back of a stopped semi trailer. The officer was later fired for disobeying the law but was not charged.
