Apparently. Most of the people I have been talking to are either waiting on theirs or JUST got it the past week. I don't think Akai was ready for the extreme demand this thing has brought to the table of Ableton Live users.
damn, i live in california but i am out of the country and i was thinking of ordering mine about 2 weeks before i got home but maybe i should order it now. i'll be home in about 7 weeks.
did the people who just got theirs order before the release in may or more recently? let me know, if they ordered before may then without a doubt i need to get my order in ASAP
Live 8 already has the preset for apc40 just plug n play :)
P.S the version of live wich comes with apc40 sucks it only allows a limited numbers of effects, tracks, vsts, etc.. i was really dissapointed with it.
Yes, but you must use Akais version of Ableton Live for it to work. If you put your Ableton Live7 serial into the Akai version of Ableton Live 7 , It will work exactly like your previous version. Otherwise , its just a LITE version of the software. Can anyone confirm that Ableton 8 is ACP-40 Ready ??
hey dude nice vid i just got my apc 40 today i was wondering why they didn't have a control section for catching loops on the fly. Another thing was I found out that this version of live won't support mp3s and I was a little erked when i found out you can only have 8 devices because I like to have an eq on each track and that would leave me with no other effects to use. If you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated
Well , first off, regarding your effects, youll be fine. Just make sure you have a 3 or 8 band EQ as the first effect, and you can shuttle though the effects using the Arrow keys in the effects section. So in essence, youll just hit the TRACK SELECTION NUMBER, THEN Shuttle all the way to the LEFT, and you have your EQs set. If you are wroking with 8 tracks its goning to be tough, so practice!
dude what i do is group all my effects and synths together, then put the ones i want to control bound to that. Then when i press the track select button i'm instantly selecting my group of stuff, i might have some dials doing highpass on the synth and others controlling the sidechain trigger volume. Mabey another highpass filter so i can cut out the bass etc.
stopped me getting lost by not knowing which effect I had selected
For your loop question, I found no necessity to have the TAP TEMPO ir Either NUDGE, So I reassigned them as follows: TAP TEMPO : Loop OFF NUDGE LEFT: Loops Set IN and NUDGE RIGHT: Loop Set Out
on part 3 of your apc40 review when you were searching through massive vst patches it looked like the lights around the knobs on the apc40 were changing. that lead me to believe that there might be apc40 presets for popular vst, can u confirm this?
I can confirm that it is already preset to ALL the Affects that come with Ableton. Also, The Native Instruments I were using, NI.. FM8 , Massive, and Absynth 4, ALL Responded well to having presets already dialed in, So it yes Confirmed. Youll be using the Akai version of Ableton when you get it, unless 8 is already built for the APC. You are gonna LOVE the fact that the effects are already dialed in, Saves SOOO Much time.Thx for Question
I will let you know if I come across anymore info
