  • they didn't have bells in them? how did people know when someone was calling them?

  • they had separate boxes with bells in them.

  • @coolbluelights back then there was ringer box that had the ringer and network inside

  • The removed dial is indeed a Stromberg Carlson dial. It also appears to be missing the number card holder and number card on the front. It also appears that he is installing a Western Electric #6 dial.

    Good luck on the repair. The rotary was not a SC I think it was a A&E But the customer did not care he just wanted a brass rotary that worked and looked the same age. Thanks for the comment! Dennis@ A1 Telephone

  • I am a collector from Malta and I have managed to to even build these telephone piece by piece like this guy has done, the only thing I cant do is dial with it, as the system in my country is digital and doesnt read pulses, I can only receive incoming calls, do any type of convertors excsist? where I can connect it to the phone to make it dial?
