  • *pew pew pew BING!*

  • i shot this weapon during my army days, good memories with it!!

  • Question , i have fired a .30-30 , (knocked the hell outa me to) is that bigger or smaller , i know that might sound stupid but does calibers always work in numerical order?

  • This is the fastest firing gun you can get in Australia, anything faster than a semi auto (so as fast as u can pull it) and pretty much a machine gun is outlawed :(

  • i love the ding it makes

  • wow you thumb... it almost went a garand thumb.

  • Damn dude, you can really get a serious case of garrand thumb. :O

  • @ImperialUprising practice makes perfect and as of yet, no garand thumb

  • @ak37spec You will never have to worry about it if you use the side of your (right hand) pinky to hold back the slide. Load the clip in with your thumb, and once you feel the 'release' on the slide, move your hand away. Much MUCH safer for your poor thumb than the risk you are seriously taking with that load style!

  • I have a question. Is it a clip or magazine. I'm just wondering because it stays in the gun when firing.

  • @Eddythebandkid for sure its a clip buddy

  • bam bam ba PING...

  • wear ear protection

  • MY DAD'S FAV, TRAINED WITH THIS WEAPON IN THE ARMY

  • One Nazi watched this video. :D

  • your gun is so cute

  • I love... American weapons!

  • God, how would anyone hit by a 30-06 live? that is a mean round.

  • Just a reminder, if you use commercial ammo, don't use heavy bullets. Using heavy bullets in gas operated rifles like the Garand can result in high gas port pressures even though the maximum chamber pressure is within limits. Using a heavy bullet could raise the port pressure to the point it bends the operating rod. Operating rods have become quite expensive. Better safe than sorry.

  • just a question the receiver slides immediately you slot the cartridges is that normal? 0:45

  • @josephsaliba79 i think i know what your asking and i noticed that two things will happen, the first is that the first round will hold the bolt back, so a simple nudg to the charging handle will chamber that round. as for this rifle, all i do is push down on the loaded clip with confidence and that first round chambers every time. its normal and great!!!

  • @josephsaliba79 Some time it does , some time it don't . It depend of your clip .If the clip is realy stiff , It will not chamber the round and you have to push the handle foward . If your clip don't hold the rounds too tight , It chamber like this video .

  • *Blink* is a sound of victory

  • Love M-1's but before you chamber your thumb which by the way can be painful, try this. As you depress the rounds with your thumb place the side of your hand against the bolt handle, remove the thumb and release the bolt with the side of your hand. No M-1 thumb.

  • those round are soft point

  • 0:28 poor american soldiers if they had it so hard to fill their mags in WWII lolz

  • Somebody gets hut at 1:14

  • @askoo353 no one gets hurt, what you heard was my youngest brother being a kid.

  • @ak37spec HHHAHAHA

  • @askoo353 yeah i heard it too haha

  • Somebody gets hut at 1:15

  • @Archerpyro

    That's interesting.

You should start by eating his ass!

  • I want to eat your dog for dinner.

  • beautiful garand you have there :D

I Want one so bad !

  • 2 things I learned about the Garand:

    1. Loading the clip (yes it's a clip) automatically closes the bolt (which I did NOT experience with my M1A).

    2. Garands are pretty loud.

  • -8 balas =/

  • Is it possible to use the clip with less than 8 rounds loaded. My range has this retarded rule where you can only load 5 rounds at a time into a rifle or shotgun and you can load as much as you want into a handgun which makes no sense.

  • @AK107DX I'm afraid not, but I HAVE seen 5-round hunting clips for Garands.

  • @MadSpectro7 Nobody really enforces the rule anyway. It's a load of BS.

  • Hey man, I own a couple garands and love them. Just a heads up. Don't load commercial ammunition into a M1. They are loaded to hot for the gas system and you can bend your op rod. Try to find m2 ball surplus or you can use the hornandy m1 garand ammo. Just a word of advice. I hate to see m1's need to be repaired.

  • @GymDK that particular dog lives a better life than most people. he doesnt work, eates the best foods and not to mention i bathe him.

  • sory how can i find it as a tommy gun

  • If you want to learn how NOT to load an M1 watch at 0:43. I quote Army FM23-5

"Close the hand into a fist with the thumb extended. Raise the elbow high and, with the ball of the thumb on top of the clip at its front end about the middle of the top cartridge and the THUMB POINTING TOWARD THE MUZZLE END, press the clip down into the receiver until it is caught by the rear stud of the clip latch. Swing the thumb to the right so as to clear the bolt in its forward movement." Or you get Garand Thumb.

  • @mindeloman WATCH 0:43 and learn how not to get garand thumb, DONT BE AFRAID. take good care of that trigger finger tho.

  • @ak37spec Uh, I'm confused. Is that some attempt at sarcasm? If so, it won't get through my skin. Most intelligent people can take criticism as a point of learning. Prideful people cannot. Fortunately, for your pride, this critical analysis of your loading procedure was not meant for you. You've already dug your hole in habit. It was meant for any viewers who might earnestly be seeking for information on proper loading of a M1 rifle and then be misled into injury by you. Happy shooting though.

  • @mindeloman no sarcasm, i do have pride in knowing a more simple way to load the M1 garand. by posting this clip i hope people can watch it carefully and see how its done. and to the credite of other youtube videos im not the first to show this particular way of handling business. i have another video you can critique its under ak37spec

  • @mindeloman Don't be a wuss.

  • Poor dog

  • I WANT ONE! I WANT ONE!

  • damn i love that m1 ping

  • looks like the recoil is a bitch on that gun.

  • I have a quick question. I have seen in movies (e.g. Saving Private Ryan) where they load the clip, but then push the bolt or rather nudge it forward and then it snaps forward. I have handled an M1 (never fired . . . yet) and pulled the bolt back and it locks. I push down on the little thingy (i cant remember the name) the pushes on the cartridges and the bolt moves just like in the movie. I then just tap the handle and it slides forward. What am i missing? It just snaps for you when you load?

  • @therealjhowie WATCH M1 Garand Loading clip 2 and it will show you the ways to your QUESTION

  • Nice and smooth

  • @EkatiSS..... dont worry, those gun blast dont even faze this k-9 and im always sure to be safe while handling weapons and i really think shadow (the dog) has a blast

  • That's a sweet M1. Looks brand new. Where can I get one?

  • @cebuboy1976 its brand new and i got from the sweet people at the Civilian Marksmenship Program

  • This might sounds crazy but can you make a longish "relaxing sounds" video loading bullets into clips and magazines and cleaning guns?

  • @DamazViccar CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO I MADE, its under the name, M1 garand, loading clip 2

  • Impressive reloading skills my friend yehhhhh

  • Not gonna lie. I loooove the sound of the clip being ejected :)

  • @SlimySnail44

It betrays your position and the enemy knows you are about to reload.

  • @skillsz0rs I know. But not in combat, I think it's an awesome sound.

  • @skillsz0rs No, I think the gunshots would give away your position; not a tiny little clang noise.

It isn't that loud, and I guarantee you that the fat, bald guy on the History Channel was talking out of his ass.

  • @DAVESTAL94

I think you have never been in a battlefield before. Gunshots are coming from everywhere, and such clang is easy to locate and you know the person is reloading.

  • @skillsz0rs I haven't, but I can guarantee that you haven't either. I am an avid shooter, and at the range (indoor or outdoor) if you do not have hearing protection, you will be oblivious to a little clang while 30-06 or 8mm Mausers are going off. Firearms are VERY loud

At 50 yards, with NO OTHER NOISE in the background, the "ping" is inaudible; and it will be inaudible at an even closer distance if the Garand operator isn't on something with a rock solid surface to make the ping sound.

  • Springfield or "H & R ARMS CO. or other armory?

  • springfield armory indeed. get your hands on one and post a vedio.

  • @ak37spec how the hell did u load it with that without getting Thumb?

  • Bang! Bang! Bang! Ping!

  • I just picked mine up, cost me a pretty penny. Totally worth it, one of the best rifles produced in this century.

  • Nice rifle, looks like it's never been touched. Def after market but still the M-1. Shoots like a dream huh? you can beat the hell out of it and as long as you can give it a little cleaning once in a while it'll never do you wrong.

  • CMP special grade M1 and surprisenly, a very light rifle. its does fire smooth and with ease. feels great to the touch wheather its being cradled or fired. highly pleased with the whole system and highly recomended. a sleeck rifle that once made a non gun enthusiast smile.

  • This is one of the better video's showing how to load a clip. Thanks!

  • i have alot of this rem core lokt 150 gr is this safe for my m1!! lol plz help

  • @kp7100 its ak37spec here< wondering how many rounds of those do you have? i put about 150 rounds threw my M1 Garand and no problems came about. just make sure to give that weapon some breathing time in between and next time you stock up, make sure to get the good stuff. have fun buddy. death to them watermelons.

  • @kp7100 Commercial ammo doesn't have the correct pressure curve for the M1. If its too high you can damage your op rod over time. If its too low it may not cycle reliably. There is a fix though.... you can buy a $30 adjustable gas plug for the M1 and tune it to commercial ammo like the Remington Corelokt. You can buy GI Surplus ammo for cheaper from the CMP.

  • @kp7100 Most commercial 30-06 is too high pressure for the M1 gas system to handle and could result in a bent op-rod. You might try getting a Schuster adjustable gas valve from midwayusa [dot] com if you want to fire commercial ammo without worry. Also you might try looking on the CMP forums for advice on what types of ammo to use in the M1, they sure seem to know a lot more than I can tell you in just 500 characters!

  • I hope the gun doesn't fail me once shit hits the fan! Right on..rugged weapon?

  • @ak37spec did you atleast find the clip educational??

  • @ak37spec Be careful what you feed that thing because you really can bend the op rod running most commercial ammo through it. As the other guy said, federal makes a special ammo for the garand for that very reason. If i were you I would have went with a springfield M1a for a SHTF situation. You get the familiar garand feel with the luxery of 20 round mags and the ability to select what you feed it intead of it selecting you.

  • what brand of ammo?

  • its remington 30-06 150gr core lokt, very accurate with that Garand. Its ready for usage

  • @ak37spec i'm sorry to rain on your parade so to speak but there is a certain problem/potential danger with running standard commercial ammo through the M1. have you ever heard of this before?

  • @ak37spec the problem lies in the burning rate of the gun powder. Too slow can cause an over pressure in the piston and bend the operating rod to a point where it won't function anymore.

Federal makes .30-06 for use in the M1. Remington reduced recoil loads are good but accuracy is generally poor.

i hope this doesn't come across as a typical youtube a-hole type comment. Does this all make sense? I'm trying to help :/

  • its indeed a 30-06

  • Lemme guess, Monarch Brand .30-06 SP 150 gr? From Academy for $14.95? heh...

  • what caliber is that?
