thanks of this video last painting thingy i did for art i was pissed becase i felt i was trapped in the lines i predrew lol ill never do that for a paint angain
@Piratepiracy You can use either one. Oil takes longer to dry, and there is more flexibility in terms of how opaque (see-through/not) you can make it by mixing it with more/less oil. I think it's just personal preference. The colors are a bit different, as well, in terms of how they blend to make new colors. Acrylics mix and dry much differently than oils do. Just my personal experience. I don't have a more technical answer, sorry.
when you go to the site you have to pay 69 bucks for the vids. They're not free. Like his paintings...and what he says is true re where you paint, don't need to spend a lot of money on it, etc...
Hey, I've painted 500 foot murals in L.A. How you paint and with what is less important than WHAT you end up with. Too many people get caught up with how; just do it. This guy is getting on with the act of painting - as it should be. He gets it done. At least he's doing it. Practice makes perfect ONLY when you are engaged in the act, not just the doing of it. You gotta wanna.
@cinejan I soo here there! I paint and I can't stand it when someone says "oh, you lightly draw it first". ugh, like it matters...looks great when I'm done is all I gotta say. Or I tell them to do it. lol. And of course they can't..
This is nice and all, but.. How does this qualify as art? Art isn't about the money, nor is it about whether or not you create paintings for celebrities. It's about the feeling and emotion behind the work of art.. I don't see how learning to paint an oil portrait using the photo and graph technique will do anyone any good. Sure, it can teach you how to paint a portrait, but the real art is something created in the mind, not a photograph. Just my personal belief.
I liked it! I couldn't really understand what you were saying but in the language of art you don't really have to say anything to get your point across I guess so overall it was great!
Ugh of course there's a catch...people who truly have a passion for art don't make people pay them $70 to learn the craft

If you're putting pencil to paper or canvas, you're still drawing.
No, i wouldn't want to hold a paper plate that will get all droopy.

This is a great way to start out if somebody is intimidated by "ART" whether drawing, painting or taking classes and feeling vulnerable!
