Sit back, Chill out, See what all the Talks about, Everybody knows.... IT'S ON FOX!! (It's on Fox!) There's Tiny Toons and Dynamo! Plucky Duck, with his own show, Everybody knows its on FOX! Now Batman's gonna show you... He's the greatest super hero! (Oh Yeah) Eek the Cat! Bugs Bunny! Super Dave! Tom & Jerry! Everybody knows it's on Fox! Dog-city, X-men too, Merry Melodies, Beetlejuice... Everybody Know-o-ows.... (Everybody knows) It's on FOX! Pre-Power Rangers, still cool!
WTF. i dont remember that honeycomb commercial. lol. most of these commercials i've never seen. GAMEBOYS AND NES's. man those were days. OMG is that man on shaky grounds played arwin in suite life of zack and cody.
I was born in 1996, but I still remember growing up with the X-men, Animaniacs, looney tunes, and mostly the chipmunks. Even today i still pull out my old tapes and watch them.
@JHollowayNetwork I don't think so, but I know they used a "True Like Us!" jingle, which was very similar and had the same singer. Went something like ... True! True like... True like Us! We're hot like a pistol, without all that fuss! Clean as a whistle... TRUE LIKE US! Clean and we're steaming, High just like rush! Pretty as Picture TRUE LIKE US! True! True like... True Like Us! Or something like that. Had shots from Melrose Place, 90210, Martin, Roc & the Simpsons
I sure remember seeing Home Alone 2, the day after Christmas of 1992. My dad's side of the family all went out to Willowbrook Mall to see it during the afternoon.
The haircut at 1:14 is so 90s. The bowl cut with a wave rising above one eye and dipping flat to the next. Ear area beneath the bowl shaved out. Growing up in white suburbia this haircut was everywhere. School, yearbook pictures, the mall, skate rinks ect. Like many styles it eventually went the way of the dodo in popularity. Also... Shaky Ground only lasted 17 episodes. Dave Frewer is a funny guy but the show just didn't make any waves.
Wow, ya know i used to think it was crazy to record shows with commercvials and all, but now, its kinda cool. I get to relive that time period for 7 minutes! :D
Well since I'm 12 and many of you are like in their 20s and 30s I've seen all these shows and the same exact commercials and I see why Today's are as crappy as crap its because the EPA censors think that these shows are like violent and can harm kids, but I think they are and they want everything as crappy as them.
*doing the snake* "The taste, the taste, the taste is in the shape. The taste is in the shape of Honeycombs! We all love the taste!" That was my shit!
I'm 26. It's kind of sad that there are no more Saturday morning cartoons. Fox doesn't even show cartoons in the morning and afternoon like they did when I was a kid. The cartoons we had in the 80's and 90's are better than what's out today.
@overkillll OMG THAT'S DYNAMO DUCK!!!! I have him on tape somewhere... if i find it i'll upload it for sure ;) he had a ton of clips that came on before the super mario cartoons :D
does anyone remember the music videos that used to come on at the end of fox kids cartoons? I don't remember the exact titles, but there was "you can be what you want to be", " nobody wants to be a dumb dumb", "if you wanna be a spaceman it don't matter if you're black or white", and another one by the indigo girls. I barely remember them, but they were quite inspirational. I've been trying to find these videos for a long time, does anyone know where i might find them?
@twknight87 yeah I remember them, in fact, I'm in the middle of a frantic search for you can be what you want to be, you can be what you wanna be, or however else someone might search for it. I just remember the guy swinging his hair around singing "I believe that you can be what you wanna be". Can't find it anywhere
children of the mid 80's to early 90's, we are officaly old, our enjoyment of this is nothing but a colective "when i was your age" moment but those were great cartoons, now if only we could get EEK! the cat back
do you have the Fox Saturday Morning bumpers with the disturbing Fox mad scientist with the really cartoony head (of a fox)... I was so little, please don't tell me it was all a mad fever dream!
wounder how much it costs to do the animation that made the statue of liberty scream i know in the tv series Viper witch was similar to knight rider the program they used to transform the red viper into the the gray defender was expensive from what i read
Seeing those commercial takes me back when I barely moved to San Diego and seeing those in the living room and my baby Sister running to the living room to join me.
BTW- Does anyone knows if Stephen Funiture and Interior Surrounding still in business ?
Lol same here computers in a way plus before I sat down infront of the tv and watched whatever was on 24 7 lol when I was smaller now I just buy the DVDs of the things Im inteestede in Im a big movie guy a huge collector compared that I didnt watch tv till I was 6 I really got hooked :D now Im 18
iagree i got a little sister and the kid shows on now kinda suck back in the 90's i loved watching nick in my room and we got a cable box in the livin room where i could watch cartoon network and then one day in 97 comcast medd with the channel's and i was able now able to watch both channels in my room not just nick and i was so fuckin happy. now when i watch nik and cartoon network with my lil sister i just think of the 90's when those channels kicked ass.
What has happened to Saturday morning cartoons? Sadly, they have been replaced by endless amounts of paid programming, where they try to sell you the latest vacuum cleaner or a fancy new gadget that will allow you to slice tomatoes in 2 seconds instead of 3. What a shame.
i sure miss those days! that was when some shows on Disney XD (what kind of time constraint were they under when they thought up that name?) were originally on FOX, like X-Men and Batman: The Animated Series.
i was 7, in second grade, at that time. heck, i remember seeing Home Alone 2 the day after Christmas!
All my life I've wondered; why do local furniture dealers advertise so heavily during the weekday afternoon cartoons? Is that really the demographic they're trying to reach?
i bet with this recession, those kids are now adults wishing they were doing yardwork, and selling that bike. And not lost in this world we live in now.
Why do I remember these?! I wasn't even SUPPOSED to be watching this much TV at this point in my life! Have I always been such a loser? Sitting in front of the TV all day? Yes. And I'm proud.
The real question is why stuff from when I was 6 years old stuck in my mind so well...
man...i was like in 4th or 5th grade...those were the good ol days of saturday morning cartoons. Saturday mornings were therapy time after a long week of school. anyone remember the "after these messages, we'll be right back" song?
I totally remember that Home Alone 2 TV spot! I remember seeing it in the theater, I was 8. I remember the Little Cesar commercial too, you can see a bit of it in "Grumpy Old Men"
Ahhh! I vaguely remember that McDonald's commercial! I was like, seven, but it must have left an indelible impression on me. God, I miss the nineties. Someone build a time machine now!
The X-Men pilot, Night of the Sentinels, was first shown in two parts at the end of October '92, and then they replayed it as the official premiere a month later, this time in an hour long format. As the X-Men promo shows, these are a full week before the latter showing of "Night," so it just barely makes it.
Yes, you are correct. These promos aired on Saturday, January 2, 1993, which was a week before the 'official' series premiere of X-Men on Fox Kids. Two episodes of Super Dave: Daredevil For Hire also aired on this date as a special (only one episode usually aired each week). Also both 'Night of the Sentinels, Parts I and II' repeated on Saturday, January 9, 1993, which the premiere commercial alludes to. Hope this information helps.
Hahah, the furniture commercial... No payments till 1994. That was a year before I was born, but yet I am a die-hard Alvin and the Chipmunks fan... :3
