  • Hey how do you keep your temp up in such cold weather? During the summer I can do a 8 hour smoke on one fill easy, with charcoal left to burn.. However during the winter.. it seems my Weber won't last more than 4 hours before the temp plummets.

  • HI, I have both sizes the 47 and 57 and they both hold really well in adverse weather.

I probed the chamber yesterday on that about 6 hours in and it was holding at 247. The bigger one tends to burn much hotter.

I use natural lump, fill the water pan with Hot water and try the let the meat get to room temperature before putting it on.

I have the door central to one of the legs, this means the vents are even around the fire and if air to ingress the door its not all at the front.

  • Ah I see! Though.. lump charcoal burns hotter and faster, and I am not a fan of refilling charcoal.

    Thanks.
