  • If I didn't know better, I'd say this is where Canada's previous government bought its four POS submarines from....

  • De-commissioned my first submarine (USS Skipjack SSN 585) and then towed it and the ex-Nathan Hale from Norfolk VA to the sub graveyard in Bremerton, WA. Sad sight to see all the scrapped boats.

  • what do they make their boats out of cast iron? And ya the music, whats up with that?

  • @newburyportvideo Only someone who served on Submarines would understand how sad this video really is.

  • @trollman591 or someone who hunted them from the air..

  • wow what a waste some really cool looking subs

  • Great music and photos!

  • About a minute in I found I was increddibly depressed don't know if it was the subs or the bloody music .

  • Good presentation and music..

  • Well I'm off to find and steal a rusty submarine. because hell if it works and "floats" why not, plus someone would have to try pretty hard to top that, unless someone stole a battleship once.

  • they need to put them in a museum

  • nice pictures, no context. just a bunch of russian fish rotting away...

  • я не могу говорить русский моя бабушка не лесбиянка

  • very impressive video, i like it. Who is the composer of this pieces?

  • POIS É, E NAS REPORTAGENS DE TV A GENTE SÓ VÊ AS COISAS BONITAS DOS PAÍSES, MAS NINGUÉM MOSTRA O LIXO NO FUNDO DO SEU QUINTAL!!

  • It looks like an abondend town.

  • umm where are all these at?

  • @secretcrowds17 Looks like Murmansk. Im pretty sure there is something like this a few km north of the big naval base there.

  • все брошенное, печально

  • If this was truely a submarine graveyard video. Wouldn't they all be under water?

  • Американцы еще ответят за все

  • at 2:22 um, they gonna do something about that?

  • Does steel scrap have so littie value in Russia ?

  • What about the massive base at Polyarny?

  • omg are theyre nuclear powered subs among them?

    wouldnt that be dangerous?

  • damn, that place is so toxic i got cancer just from watching the video!

  • Sererodvinsk, Russia, Google Earth it.

  • I guess we can discount intelligence numbers on Soviet submarines. Google Earth the White Sea Russian Base, Sererodvinsk, only about six boomers in port. Sererodvinsk, Archangel, Russia.

  • Is this near Saint Petersburg?

  • took the reactors out and left the rest to rot.

  • во блин разнились!!! все это металлолом, это ж машины смерти!!! скок о труда! лучшиб весь этот ум на строительство домов или в науку(((

  • its a shame to see u-boats disguarded like that :( what were the menace of the sea's back in the 40's are now rusted pieces of scrap its kind of sad really

  • @wehrmacht95 They are not u-boats...

  • @therockacrossthepond one of them is, i recognise all the subs in this vid

  • Looks like Putin's election campaign.

  • главное чтоб газ и нефть бежали по трубам и всё...Инновации господа инновации....

  • WE were afraid of THAT?

  • very lazy sods. clean ya mess up!

  • dumped nuclear reactors...

    what a mess.

  • Also, I noticed most of these subs are either hotel, hotel 1 or 2,or alfas, and a few other ones I dont recognize...

  • The good thing thou is that they are being dismantled and recycled so it isn't so bad.

  • @ dorkus, most of these subs are Nuclear, which means that they are radioactive, which constantly affects wildlife and plants and people!

  • it reminds me of that mission from MW3 when the New York Harbor is flooding with destroyed ships an submarines. lol

  • Its like leaving toys in the bathtub when your done bathing...

  • don't eat the fish

  • @58impalaz what is it sir?

  • What music is this?

    Thanks!

  • This isn't actually that bad. Provided that there are no chemicals in the subs, rusting iron is actually a good environment for marine life.

  • I know some Columbian gentelmen who are looking for a good used submarine.

  • @cybermarsactual

hahah ,i think im the only one who got this xD

  • amazing video dude !

  • Is that you, Vostrikov?

  • give me a break the current administration did not start this crap it's being going on for years. All the administrations are the same big business is their focus.

  • @charliemaxville not at all ronald regan made great efforts toward smaller privatly owned bussinesses

  • This makes me so sad...ships are like women. Seeing them neglected like this really breaks my heart.

  • Russia is such a depressing, decrepit country filled with backwardness, criminals and drunks. I would rather shoot myself than live there.

  • @FlatulousMaximus Go ahead, shoot yourself, make world a favor.

  • @ghos7bear Why don't you people work to correct things? You know what is wrong--fix it!

  • @FlatulousMaximus obviously someone who has never been there

  • Take a good look boys ,for that is the future of the United States of America under the current administration of inept ignorant assholes, change you can believe in !! We are doomed...

  • @Bigsho63 Amen!

  • @Bigsho63

Мне очень больно видеть это видео.

Стыдно за то что в моей стране не редки такие картины.

  • @1777Alexander И мне тоже. Кстати у нас в Москве в Тушино стоит на приколе лодка Б-396 в качестве музея

  • @Bigsho63 yup you about that.these people in America has the slightest idea of whats going on SMDH

  • @Bigsho63 Obama is gonna make us into a submarine graveyard?

  • Art of Old Iron...

  • Russia is like this graveyard, the infrastructure of the country is falling apart and in shambles. And the decreasing population added to that . Not a great future for the Russian nation.

  • This is the result of Communism....a failed state and ideology.

  • the USSR spent billions but didnt have the funds for after care whats happens next the. USSR built and built for a war that would never come no one will give a dam untill the radiation from these hulls are taken out and properly stored.

    so sad

  • Wow, what a poignant video. I have always liked submarines, especially Soviet ones. It is sad to see machines built with the sacrifices of a nation discarded like junk.

  • Strangely beautiful photographs. A sad end to once proud vessels. However, what a waste of resources, of which all sides of the Cold war are guilty.

  • This is unbelievable, where are these locations at in Russia ?

  • Where did you get these pictures? I spent 20 years in submarines chasing these same boats seen here. It is very sad to see these boats like this. I hope some of these boats can be saved as a memorial or museum. They represent a very critical time in USA and Soviet era history.

  • this is russia..true might of this morons is new weapon: earth pollution!...

  • Anyone want to buy a cheap submarine? Low mileage, one owner.

  • @ChrisPCrunchy Where do you think Iran got their subs from?

  • many of this sub is nuclear !!

  • my god think of the pollution?

  • 0:24 wat? thats a sub?

  • Sorta chokes you up, a sad end to these boats.

  • Cool video

  • wow this gives me the creeps and reminds me of a story I read in Heavy Metal Magazine way back in the 80s :D

  • YUK! I sure hope America gets thier act together on this economy or we will be next!

  • @1boatsailor those are all russian subs this is the former USSR

  • @MrAxlzero Yea I know! Russia went broke after the 1980-89 afgan war. Iwas on a sub during the cold war late 1960's a lot of the boats they had back then were very old

  • Great vid. only I think all that metal should be re-cycled. to be used for better things rather than just slowly crumble away.

  • Meanwhile, Russian oligarch billionaires buy penthouses in New York for hundreds of millions of dollars. Look closely at this, America. This is our future. This is Detroit, St Louis, Oakland, many places in America. This is what happens by those willing to take everything away from ordinary people and leave us to clean up the disaster, whether it's financial or material. This is our future, it's happening now.

No justice, no peace for these bastards, whether Russian or American...

  • usssr superpower is dead and still there!

  • I would like to have one...

  • Bite, bite, bite, typical, lmfao, meathead!.

  • 2:25 wtf? are they gonna like cut that up or something, why is it just sitting there all slumped

  • watch china buy these too :P

  • @rjgreat06 turn them all into cheap nasty watches that last for 2 days,,,then turns your wrist green!!

  • @23takemeaway They're all radioactive. The cheap watch will turn your wrist green, then make your hair fall out.

  • Meanwhile, in Soviet Russia...

  • your looking at what will one day very soon be america as well...

  • @mxferro Doubt it, not small defenceless country with oil.

  • @mxferro Yes, and with the same idea in mind, i would brush up on your chinese language?.

  • wtf that"s a lot of subs

  • At 00:22 I think is a Typhoon, and at 01:20 and 02:38 are Alpha Class Nuclear Attack Subs. Only 7 were built.

  • Give the site to the Chinese, they'll soon recycle it.

  • I can explain why this crap is there. It was 90's. USSR is gone. For several years no foundation for recycling. No personnel. Who wants to work for free?

At those years Russia had money only for building new projects & careing in proper condition ships on service. Soon without oversight subs sunk. They recovery from the water will coast even more money.

If you have a choise to maintain your fleet to defence your country or recycle those subs, what would you choose?

  • all the money spent on wars, the people killed and maimed, yet we, the entire world continues to have wars

    doesn't make any sense, cents

and what has been the result of all the wars-yet more killing, more money spent- it's gotta end-

may let the political leader and his/her political party fight the next war

  • i think it would be cool to explore the insides. and hell what if you could get it to start up? id drive that bitch back to the US and sell it to a museum.

does anyone know why there are so many subs just rusting in russia?

  • i would be in paradise going there with a plasma cutter and trailor...then with the scrap money i would live in a paradise

  • I'd pay good money to go on a holiday looking around places like this. I thinks it's fascinating. LG.

  • @Topskinnydipper Same here but probably not to safe

  • @Topskinnydipper i would totally do that for a vacation. i could look for hours

  • Is this in Murmansk>The sub @ 1:25 looks like a Delta Class.Is the sub @ 3:14 a Akula class?

  • Looks like a location in Fallout

  • @MrZuul25 I was totally thinking that, and the music is even falloutesque.

  • Those Subs can be recycled into metal in order to make another tank or a better submarine or something. Unless rusted metal is useless...

  • I want my own sub, do you think they'll sell me one?

  • wow

  • urban exploration over there, oyea

  • I for one would look in one maybe you would find a nuke warhead :P > : D

  • America has paid the Russians for the nuclear fuel onboard their decommissioned submarines. We took the fuel to the US and have stored or reprocessed it, there is no tracing this. This was done shortly after the break up of the Soviet Union. What it did do, is ensure that the fuel was not misplaced, or left to go critical. It was expensive and not published. As for the rotting hulks, the choice of what to do with them is not our to dictate.

  • Whenever anyone mentions Russia, the words "bleak", "depressing", "corrupt", and "irresponsible" leap to mind. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

  • they could use slave labor like they used to do !!!

  • @mschiffel1 Bit like your southern states in the past do you mean!!!!.

  • fascinating. just imagine going inside one- pitch black and half flooded. scary!

You'd think they would sell them for scrap, make some money? unless its not cost effective like it is for the big freighters that get beached and stripped

  • Its amazing how after the Russians lost the cold war they just left their playthings laying and strewn all over the place!! Somebody should make them clean up their F**KING MESS!!! I hope they were smart enough to take the nuclear shit out of those things!!

  • @joetubealong Russians Lost the Cold WAR?????

    R U idiot?

  • How many are these are nuclear?

  • @gekko14 just about all

  • don't clean it! i wanna go there and see that shit!

  • love it. We re-arrange some elements found naturaly on planet earth and somehow THAT is killing the planet. You bunch of carebears. (sarcastic)

  • That tubes near the submarines , are their nuclear reactors...

  • It is not necessary to put forward a nose in Russia, the Russian problem - the Russian affairs. Who or will arrive and will buy iron whom it will be? My country is rich with iron. Yours too?

Подождите - приедете и всё выкупите, на вес золота.

  • I wonder how much money scrapping a whole submarine would net a lowly 19 year old like myself...... all I see is a waste :(

  • This is pretty much the condition of much of Russia's military machine.

  • You really have to wonder about the Soviet/Russian mind set.

They have dozens of obsolete ships, yet they don't bother to break them up for scrap. Or if that's deemed not worth the effort, why not just tow them out to sea, sink them, and improve fishing with artificial reefs?

It makes no sense to just leave then at the dock, and clutter up a harbor with their rusting hulks.

Unless they just like to look at rusting junk, as a monument to sloppy failure, but that seems unlikely.

  • @skeilak iron is abundent in russia so the money they will get from scrap is less than it takes to take each one apart

  • @Mrboomx

Iron is abundant, just about everywhere on Earth.

But you'll never see scenes like these from any other Navy.

When other Navy's ships are past their time, they scrap them, sink them, or use them for target practice. They don't let them crumble into rust, sunk at the dock.

The Russian Rust Fleet, is kind of unique in the world.

  • The moon is illuminated at night becuase us yanks leave our lights on at night and the light reflects off the moon and brightens the night of every one else on the planet.

And that is a cool mess. I would love to check that place out.

  • @madmatt784 no its the sun refelcting off it

  • You always get loads of egotistical yanks spouting crap in the comments box!! 25% of Americans think the moon is self-illumination and 15% when given a globe could not tell you where Canada is. something to bear in mind before you say how great you are!

  • the scrap belong to who?

    goverment or what?

  • why don't the russians clean up this mess???...they have millions of tons of scrap everywhere !!!

  • @mschiffel1 i heard a lot of it is radio active scrap

  • @mschiffel1 It would kill the steel market world wide. Whenever America comes back from one of their adventures the equipmnet is destroyed and left behind or dumped into the ocean to save the steel and aluminum industries. Insane yes?

  • @mschiffel1

Where do you propose they get the money to pay for the clean up?

  • @mschiffel1 there russians they only need glass...........for voka bottles

  • @mschiffel1 That's how broke russia is. They don't have the money to even clean their house.

  • @mschiffel1 Most are highly radioactive.

  • @mschiffel1 Очень многие металл основы будут создавать радиации привет

  • @MsSMOTOR Хорошо сделанный шерлок!

  • @mschiffel1 HOW ABOUT U CLEN IT?

  • @mschiffel1 Бог благословляет мать Россия

  • @mschiffel1 Just waiting for the funds from Iran. :)

  • Russian submarines are junk, always where.

  • @Goofus5453 even when they tried to copy the captured german type XXI subs after the war they made junk.

  • @Goofus5453 Quantity has a quality all it's own. some of the early Russian subs were junk, but thanks to Walker selling them our Sosus secrets. they improved during the mid 80's. good thing the Soviet Union fell apart soon there after.

  • @The1irishknight Anything they would have came up with would have been slaped together and more deadly to there crew than anyone else.

  • They look so sad yet menacing at the same time.

  • could have been sold to museums, rich people who have everything except a russian sub... or for scrap metal.

  • So thats where the single Beluga class experimental sub ended up..I saw her around 1:28

  • Where are all the empty vodka bottles? : ) Couldn't resist.

  • Looks like the US Navy: pieces of junk :-)

  • @TwintopTigra No way in hell. The U.S. Navy would never fall to that level of disgrace. Our ships are hi-tech, state of the art, & built to last!

  • @GP9railfan Grow up!.

  • @urbanfox53 Just stating the facts!! Sorry you don't like the truth!

  • @GP9railfan The facts and truth according to who?.....the states?.....lol, keep believing what you read.

  • @urbanfox53 Are you serious?!? You're in some serious denial if you are serious. I don't have to read facts. I already know from experience what the deal is. Please do not let your pride get in the way, & don't try to argue with me about who has the more advanced Navy, because you will lose that argument hands down. I have no quarrels against Russia, & I have been there before, so don't get the wrong idea. You're the one that started this childish argument, & I'm ending it. Bye bye!

  • @GP9railfan" My pride!", ur ego is big enough to float the titanic, leave russia alone, usa is 270 yrs old, lets see where u are in 2,000 yrs, oh, and by the way it takes two to argue, and dont dictate to me, i revert to my initial comment!, anyway your boring me now.

  • @urbanfox53 Whatever dumb ass. We all know who the immature stupid fuck is now. Not me!! 270 years old? LMAO! You can't even get that right! AHAHAHAHA!!!

  • @GP9railfan Ok i,ll give you that one, 234 yrs old, considering your american i added the usual exageration and bullshit!.

  • I wonder what the radiation levels are in some of these places . Thanks for a fascinating video.

  • Some appear to really old as well though
