@brycemaster You're COMPLETELY wrong... Play them both side by side and you'll hear that the tempo is exactly the same. If not slightly slower on this one... But that wasn't my point, I wasn't being literal on the music, if you can call it that. But the singing... It is horrible here, he does sound like he's been either shot with Novocain or is just drunk. If you can't hear it, then you can't hear it. The original kicks ass, this one is a sloppy mess.

to those who want this anime on dvd, you can get pretty good copies on youtube. the anime in its entirety and the three ova's along with the animated movie.

Much of the series isn't on youtube, like much of hokuto no ken 2, and also features shoddy fansubbing. I would recommend the site: "Heart of Madness" for all things HNK, and Souten no Ken/Fist of the Blue Sky.

Again, most of the ebay sales are fake or terrible quality recordings. Heart of madness is still the place to go lol.

It's your choice, and I have the series in it's only official english DVD release, unfortunately you can't buy it on ebay or amazon etc. so its a choice between DivX quality with decent subs for free, or bad quality, terrible quality subs, chinese knock-off dvd's.

The movie just got re-released within the past month in America on DVD. Finding it in a Suncoast or whatever should be a breeze.

It is a shame.. Manga destroyed this Anime in USA.. This anime is phenominal and nothing but spectacular.. It would be so nice to see a release of this show Hokuto No Ken 1,2 released on DVD in original japanese language, english subs, and UNCUT. I have the HK DVDs.. For the most part the subs are decent, get horrid at times.. But long live this show. A true classic, a real fucking 80's classic.

Not...really.

the HNK2 series, Bart (finally) knows how to fight (and damn well, too)..

But after THAT series ends, the manga continues...and some time WAY later, Bart DOES use some moves Kenshiro frequently abused. But only SOME (he ain't no Hokuto Shinken master). Random elite mook kicks his ass and Kenshiro had to come rescue em once more.
