  • the real deal and no synths.

  • Dino and the group is classic AMAZING!!!

  • The maracas/tambourine player certainly gives Davy Jones from the Monkees a run for the money as the most useless guy in a rock band.

  • I've listened to this song before but never saw the drummer on a video. This guy is freakin amazing!!

  • Speaking of young kids I was just blown away by a version of ( Come On Up ) by two young talented boys. Its nice to see that todays music still remembers a real band like the Rascals, Play on New genaration.

  • Today's emo kids copied and brought by the style Felix Cavaliere wore in the 60's. as you can see here.

  • Dino!!! The first to use a 24" bass drum in rock

  • Yes, that,s right . The drummer is the best teacher in the world if you want to learn how to play the drums , trust me.

  • yes.. we had to sit through Topo Gigio ("that little talking mouse") to wait for the rock groups!! "Keez me goodnight Eddie"

  • HALL OF FAME CLIP!!!!!

  • INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!

  • great song, great performance, bad clothes.

  • @standupstella worse hair!! Awesome song that never gets old.

  • sweet

  • I swear, if ABC, CBS or NBC took these great Ed Sullivan shows, spliced them together like they were happening now, ratings would go thru the roof.

"Tonite on CBS, The Beatles, The Doors, The Young Rascals, The Beach Boys, Elvis, Aretha, The Fifth Dimension and (that little talking mouse)." Hello, anybody listening ??

  • Where's Miles?

  • Felix is one soulfull mofo man...put him up there with anyone.

  • These guys were the greatest American band of their time...

  • Wow the Italian American Keith Moon?

  • Dino has a ton of talent and a Mega ton of attitude..

  • this sound could raise the dead!

  • AMAZING am i the only who think this sound so fresh and new 44 years later?

  • Great song....horribe outfits lol m dancing but still cool

  • wow! isn't this AMAZING video quality? go look at some other Rock Band T.V> appearances of this time and compare. i'm blown away. obviously, remastered yes.....but WOW!!! almost looks like this was on last night, just before american IDOL or something. lol! fantastic.

  • If there ever was a feel good song this one is it! Saw Felix last year at the 'Moondog Coronation Ball' last year in Cleveland and he was still rockin! The 60t's by far has some of the best rock & roll! Does anyone know what the other band members are now doing? Alive or what! Thx for sharing!

  • I love the little peter pan collars.

  • Such a good sound... and no bass.

  • omg the are awesome!!!

  • God their band is tight O_O -oogles drummer-

  • Finally, someone has posted the unedited version of this great song on Youtube, as opposed to the edited version with Michelle Phillips providing commentary. Thanks!

  • It don't get any better than this!

  • The singer looks a bit like Chris angel!

  • The guitar is beast.

  • EL Baterista Impresionante!.....

  • Watch the drummer in this group .....anytime these guys were on TV I would always focus on him...perhaps a little Gene Krupper influence

  • WOW! The drummer was excellent. Love his style.

  • how much of this was invented by the beatles ~ fine song ~ btw ~

  • wow.... great kicks.... they sounded hot for their time..

  • still do 42 years later!

  • omg yeah they all have skills.....this video is awesomeeee!!!!!

  • THAT GUY HAS MAJOR TAMBORINE SKILLZ!!! xD

  • Lol. :D

  • 8D GOD the drummer and the organist just KILL it XD

  • Felix's voice is incredible

  • Awesome talents and song . Thank for posting .

  • As a 10 yr old drummer, that Dino really threw us for a loop. He used a snare stand for his mounted tom (why'd he do that ?) and he put felts on top of his cymbals (why'd he do that ?). He had us all scratching our heads. Funny now.

  • @gaspo218

The snare stand for the tom makes the adjustment of the tom easier.Dino liked it lower.

The felts on top of the cymbals does not muffle them,it holds them a bit better.I use them 45 years playing.Especially if you tilt the cymbals.

  • @ralfodrum Dino was, is awesome!

  • They burned so briefly, but so brightly! Everything Felix and Eddie wrote was memorable, but you can't turn away from Dino on the drums. Thanks for posting, Buddy.

  • That was a killer organ solo.

  • Which one is Eddie? and where was Dave? They are old friends of mine from Jersey

  • @blueoceantraders

David sang on the final Rascals LP '' Once upon a Dream ''

    He was never a Rascal.

The Brigati brothers perform together occasionally.

See ''Donald Fagan's Rock & Suol revue''

  • again...one of the best live drum performances you'll ever see, he got great chops, confidence (that little fill on 1:08 says.."I'm a badass!!") just a great thing to watch.

  • I think I still have one of Dino's drumstix somewhere in my house, that I ran up and grabbed right after a show in '66. I believe it was a Ludwig 2B (rather heavy)

  • When I first heard Dino's 24" bass drum , I immediatedy went to Manny's Music and special ordered one ! My father flipped when he saw my old 20" bass sitting in the corner, no longer being used!

  • I have the same guitar,Barney kessel gibson.

  • Loved this group and songs! I was 10 years old! Loved the groups then!

  • These guys were so cool and still are.

  • I got to meet Gene today and took a picture with him, wonderful guy. I always loved this band, Eddy played Conga on one of my records back in the 70's...

  • Could they be one of the most under rated bands ever (especially in the uk)

  • @karlthec ... totally underrated ... their musicianship was superior to most bands at that time ... these guys could play really well

  • Karl DID they ever play in the UK?

  • dino was too tuff...

the rascals were one of the first white bands to use a hamond b3 organ..

and alex kicked bass on it...

    too cool.

    these guys were great!

  • WOW, Dino on those drums. A flick here and there. So fast, I bet he can turn the switch and be in bed before the lights go out.

  • @7272257 You said it! He's like an American version of Keith Moon here!

  • the drummer is a beast haha

  • Greatest song of the rock era. Better than Penny Lane.

  • the best part of this video is Dino's drumming... and plus Felix is hot!!!!

  • i live down the street from Gene Cornish. And he's going to jam with me tomorrow :D

  • the drummer's head bopping makes me lol all the time.

  • Great feeeeeeeel 5*****

  • What's interesting is that the show's director figures out that Dino and Felix are the showmen of the group and about halfway through he gets a camera positioned to feature both of them on the same shot.

  • Dino D. was one of the coolest drummers in the '60s!

  • They really were THE best band America produced during the 60's.

  • ed sullivan's voice= now right here on our stage the

  • They were sexy!! I don't know what they look like now though.

  • Eddie Brigatti is one of the best lead men of all time! Dino is a sight to behold! THE BEST!!!!

  • My late drum teacher said that Dino was teh one rock drummer that Buddy Rich wouldn't insult. Until I heard this, I had no idea that there wasn't anyone that Buddy Rich wouldn't insult.

  • @Beefheartfreak bless you young ones you said buddy rich, my god he used to come on the carson show aka jay leno now buddy was the last of the great drummers of the 40s 50s they hold the sticks the way your suppose to, this guy in the rascals is very good i remember being like 7 learning how to play, then by 10 playing rascals hot sounds on my brothers ludwig trap set, they had a really good sound had to be late 60s, buddy rich was fantastic gene krupa, sandy nelson, old names,so cool

  • "Until I heard this, I had no idea that there wasn't anyone that Buddy Rich wouldn't insult."

    Hilarious because it's true :)

  • my favorite band!

Felix totally unique as a Hammond B3 player. World class in a category of his own. Dino on drums-one of the five best rock drummers of all time! Amazing.

  • Feelix wastes modern mussic

  • yOUNG rASCALS

  • This is a generation to hold on to.

  • Great tune even today. Dino is way under-rated as a drummer..

Felix had a ton of soul in his voice.

  • I'm from Long Island, N.Y. and my older sister knew the Rascals. She would go out to the Hamptons and see them play in the early 60's..That was before they got real famous.

They were The Best band in Long Island at the time.

They would PACK THE CLUB ! Everyone loved them...

    It was A GREAT BAND..

  • Would love to do a Ska version of this song....pick it up! pick it up!!

  • Just proves you don't need a double bass drum and a million tom toms to be a good drummer :-)

  • one of best visual drum performances you'll see live, he's got confidence, style, chops, just a great thing to watch!!!!!!!

  • Drummer kicks major ass in this vid

  • Tha guy who's playing the tambourine and maracas looks like one of The Monkees's members LOL! Pretty scary xD

  • Yeah the drummer really is kick'in it here.... very good !!!

  • Dino Danelli was a drummer extraordinaire with a Ton of Attitude.

  • Dang good band

  • Yeh man Dino's da shit....

  • Drummer is Dino Dinelli, just an amazing player and obviously a great entertainer. He just shreds it on this clip - amazing.

  • that drummer is fantastic

  • I read somewhere that the only group that made the beatles feel a little bit afraid of was actually The young rascals, now I can see why :) they're great

  • I read somewhere that they were all good friends.

The Beatles were never afraid of anything.

  • I know all they were very good friends

who you think your talkin' to? I am a huge beatle fan

I meant "afraid" as a competition, cause they boys knew how good the rascals were. FI!!!

  • Actually those costumes are pretty scary.

  • Kind of like Paul Revere and the Raiders look.

  • I'm glad I was not Ringo.

  • its so good to see this again. thank you.
