She's not pulling on his mouth when the striding is right, if the pony found it uncomfortable and didn't enjoy it, he wouldn't jump. Lovely pony, great riding! The idiots criticising your position obviously don't know what it's like to jump a proper cob, so from someone who does, keep up the good work!
Keep your elbows in and old onto a bit of mane until you get used to the 'sensation' of being over a jump! And also only get out of the saddle the tiniest bit and start with some smaller jumps again until you can feel what your horse does. I really dont want to sound like a snob tho, as your lower leg is quite nice over the jump considering what the rest of you is doing :) good luck babes xx

do you know why you get left behind on the jump? it kind of looks like you lean back too far when the front legs hit the ground again, and you bounce.. maybe you need to bend your legs more when the horse hits the ground so you can stay on the saddle?

That horse/cob can jump, you can't. You getting very left behind, he'd be fine if you didn't pull on his mouth when you jumped as well. I have a cob, and he's fine, he loves his jumping, I have a video of us show jumping.

It's not that you get left behind, you just don't fold for long enough, try & stay in the jumping pos for a little bit longer! :-) just giving advice not trying to be mean! xxx
@BrightBayPony Try shortening your stirrups and keep your heels down that might help :) Also put your hands forward and give the horse more rein, you're holding him too tight which is why you're getting left behind. No offence intended. Lovely pony :)

You get very left behind, which is something I can sympathise with, I also used to get extremely left behind and have only very recently been able to go with it. My pony, like yours, likes to take off quite early before a jump. The only advice I can suggest is doing a bit of grid work and work on counting the strides into a jump. If you know your pony is prone to going long, then go with it. Lovely horse though, very honest and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. (:

@TattieAddiiction Don't mean to interfere.... BUT Bec does know this stuff, as do I...AND I can tell you... trying to count strides on Tess is quite difficult... she gets eager, and BAM leaps the jump! So you don't know the horse nor rider, so I really think you should stop being so horrid!

Bec has done well with Tess, the pony hadn't been jumping long before Bec got her, and tess is a proper point and jump pony, so willing, and if she was being hurt, she would not jump the heights she does :)
