  • 00:49 to 00:54...Holy shit!!!

  • Wow, auto-tune and lipsync all over the place! Why can't she sing live? Ugh!...I'm just kidding :-)

  • how old is ella here?? over 60, over 70?? and her voice sounds so youthful and fresh... dear lord...i love her :D

  • This is the first good video that hasn't gotten a dislike

  • Bravo!!!

  • Ella wasn't human!!!!

  • It was even cooler live! I was at this concert while in Montreux with the Central Michigan University Jazz Band. We played the festival a couple of nights before on College Night.

One of my most memorable musical experiences.

  • Wow, that must have been an experience.

I attended one of her last performances at the Hollywood Bowl --- where she fell of the stage. Well after a few minutes of recuperation, she came back --- by now, I had left the stands and was behind the Bowl's stage --- Well, she came back out and MANNN!!! and ofcourse, you know Ella's voice was amazingly CLEAR even at age 68 --- to hear her THAT CLOSE --- and she swang like the devil. Completed the show, you'd never know she fell --- too much.

  • @stevenrmc "swang"?

  • You have just witnessed cool in one of it's many personifications. Ella was a cool gift from God.

This is one of my favorite Ella performances of this song.

    Beautiful.

  • ... vielen Dank „Elfeco".

    Montreux-LIVE immer wieder hautnah.

  • Her rendition of THIS song . . . is truly

a lesson in in QUALITY singing.

  • I have seen her 4 or 5 times in Holland also sometimes with the Count.

But this video is so great. Make me so happy!

    Thanks Elfeco !

  • God Bless You great folks who post these videos your the best thank you.

  • yessssssir 00:50-51

  • I KNOW RIGHT! She was THE greatest jazz singer to ever walk the face of this Earth.

  • When u learn with Basie its not hard!

  • lol! True, very. But seriously, she amazes me. The fact that she had no serious training and cuoldn't read music is unbelievable!

  • True, most of those singers got their training from the big bands and jazz combos ---- those were like conservatories. However, I think in her case, it's also raw, god-given talent.

  • hers is just god given!
