  • Lennox "The Vulture" Lewis: career breakdown

Here are Lennox Lewis most difficult opponents: Mike Tyson - June 2002

This is Lennox's biggest con. Tyson, destroyed by British club-fighters Danny Williams and Kevin McBride more decisively than Lennox Lewis who took 8 rounds to literally push an exhausted overweight 235lbs Mike Tyson to the canvas. This is not surprising, he'd boxed just 18 rounds in 6 yrs and was pictured 03/2002 in the National Enquirer smoking marijuana with hippies in Hawaii

  • As you see, I didn't make the list...

The first time around, George Foreman was too mean and too crude.

The second time around, too sophisticated and too publicity conscious to exploit his power...

    Honorable Mention (Alphabetically ordered)

    • Max Baer

    • Ezzard Charles

    • Jersey Joe Walcott

  • 8. Sonny Liston.

If Sonny Liston truly had not lost his cool, had not underestimated a young Cassius Clay; and kept the same mind set that he had as a contender, history would have been a lot kinder to him. Sonny Liston could not believe Muhammad Ali was so fast and had so much courage. It just made him fall apart.

    9. Floyd Patterson.

The First Two-Time Heavyweight Champion of the World.

    10. Evander Holyfield.

For standing up to Mike Tyson.

  • 7. Mike Tyson.

A phenomenon. What Mike Tyson was able to do with his speed of hand and punching power is as phenomenal as what Muhammad Ali did when he was Cassius Clay with speed of feet. Tyson deserves to be in the top ten; this is where I put him, the youngest man to become Heavyweight Champion of the World.

  • Hang on?! You have Tyson as your 7th best EVER?

You say Lennox Lewis has a rubbish record? Have you ever even looked at Tyson's?

He got knocked out by a Journey man, lost to Lennox Lewis, lost twice to a fighter who Lennox Lewis beat, his best wins were against Trevor Berbick (a rubbish fighter), Holmes (old) Spinks (a light heavyweight). Other than that he beat bum after bum. His record is worse than Lennox Lewis'... yet somehow Tyson is 7th ATG and Lewis is a chump? You're full of shit

  • 5. Joe Frazier.

Only because he depended solely on his left hook do I rate Joe Frazier below Marciano. Marciano could hit with both hands.

    6. Jack Dempsy.

Jack Dempsy's very name means strength and courage. Other than Joe Louis, there is not a name in boxing or in sports with more meaning.

  • George's Top 10 Heavyweights

    1. Joe Louis.

To be honest with you, number two is way off. Joe Louis is in a class by himself.

    2. Rocky Marciano.

Just look at Rocky Marciano's record. Nobody beat him. You can't take that from him.

    3. Jack Johnson.

A big brave cat, because he'd do whatever he wanted and get out of the way.

    4. Muhammad Ali.

Put him down as the GREATEST MAN to ever box, and a hero bigger than boxing. Once Ali lost his speed, showed that he'd never developed a great defense.

  • What do Rocky marciono and Joe Calzaghe have in common? They both retired undefeated and both of their biggest wins came against fighters who were old and past their prime and who started boxing in a weight class lower than they did.

Yet you have Marciano as your 2nd best Heavyweight EVER but hate Calzaghe?

Your opinions are biased, contradictory and massively inconsistant. You're full of shit, hope this helps.

  • @illmitchjax No I don't, those george Foreman's all time heavyweight rankings taken directly and word for word from his OFFICIAL website.

As you can see, Lummox Lewis doesn't even get an "honourable mention"

    (c) GEORGE FOREMAN

    biggeorge(dot)com

  • I think the greatest fighter can not have the greatest record though. People forget that... they're human, there's a myriad of factors - psychological, circumstantial, genetic etc. etc. that by definition make all sport and all events unfair (ALWAYS), rules can only make things fair to a degree... and... Lewis is definitely up there, no doubt. And in terms of what he did, yeah, he may be the greatest in avenging etc.

But Tyson's skills were mind-blowing. He is the greatest all-round heavyweight

    Publication:The Washington Post Publish date:February 17, 1997 Author:Leonard Shapiro

SHAMEFUL SHOT: Bad enough that HBO should put on the Oliver McCall-Lennox Lewis fight Feb. 7 in the first place, less than three months after McCall was dividing his time between training and drug rehab.

    "Avenging"????

    HAHA

  • My top five...

    1. Muhammad Ali

    2. Larry Homes

    3. Lennox Lewis

    4. George Foreman

    5. Joe Frazier/Vlad Klitschco (cant decide)

  • @ManlnCognito haha Klitschco ?!

  • @shawn114 Yes Klitscho...why do you laugh? Dont you rate him? If not why not? he has over fifty victories and 50 knockouts. Certainly there’s no one around today who could beat him.

Is it because he’s not American and not overhyped by your media like the very average Tyson was?

  • @ManlnCognito Mike Tyson very average?! Right there you lost all credibility and need to stop commenting on this thread. GOODBYE!

  • @TheMightykaz A fighters is only as good as the fighters they beat. And Tyson only ever beat average fighters..he also lost to some real tomato cans, and never once avenged any of his losses. Add to that he only ruled the heavyweight division for two and a half years...so yes I’d say Tyson was an average fighter and nothing more.

What in your opinion make a great fighter?

  • @ManlnCognito RING Magazine's Top-50 All-Time Heavyweights Dec 26 2005, 05:36 PM 1. Muhammad Ali 2. Joe Louis 3. Evander Holyfield 4. George Foreman 5. Larry Holmes 6. Rocky Marciano 7. Sonny Liston 8. Joe Frazier 9. Jack Johnson 10. Jack Dempsey 11. Ezzard Charles 12. James J. Jeffries 13. Jersey Joe Walcott 14. Mike Tyson 32. Lennox Lewis
  • Bullshit

  • No Muhammad Ali is the Greatest of all time, George Foreman would destroy Lennox Lewis, I don't see how Lennox Could be the Greatest just from beating an old Tyson

  • Is Mike Tyson ready for Lennox Lewis?

    By Krzysztof Wawrzonkowski

31.03 – How is Tyson these days? How is his condition? Although nobody knows for sure, with the exception of Mike and his camp, which been saying that that Tyson is training hard and is in great condition. Recently Tyson has been spotted by the National Enquirer, partying with a hippie crowd in Maui,Tyson is seen smoking something, what appears to be marijuana, which was passed onto him by a bunch of kids.

  • Prime Tyson vs Prime Lummox Lewis = Ko'd in 2 Seconds

Lennox Lewis = Sponge Cake Chin

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward

Oh. So your another one of those idiot Tyson fans who always say that "If Tyson Was In His Prime" SHUT THE FUCK PLEASE" You talk as if you know nothing about boxing, which clearly you don't :P Do yourself a favour and shut your mouth before you get burned kiddo.

    By JIM SLATER

Lewis, who laughed off the buffoonery as "immature" and fired back that Tyson's best days are behind him.

"Fighting Tyson is like fighting a ghost," Lewis said. "Look at my last five fights. Look at Mike Tyson's last five fights. If you put both together and say who would win, boxing fans would say it's obvious.

If this were the Mike Tyson of years ago, Emanuel Steward might be a little more worried.

Steward, who trains Lennox Lewis, thinks Tyson is just a shell of the fighter he once was.

"Everyone is holding onto that image of Mike Tyson from 10 to 12 years ago," Steward said. "That Mike Tyson is gone."

  • Forman just mad cause ALI beat his ass, lennox lewis my ass, the guy beat a over the hill Tyson & got Ko'd twice by journeymen

  • @illmatic826 Lewis was a bum + a coward

Lummox Lewis = PAPER CHAMPION (Worse Than Povetkin + Gaye)

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward

I`d like to know where you get your facts from? Or maybe you have nothing to back your comments up. Maybe its because you were really upset when Lewis knocked out your childhood hero. Mike Tyson is a nothing but a bum, and a convicted criminal. But at least Lewis is well better educated wouldn't you agree? LOL

    Q+A: George Foreman

With the June 8 Mike Tyson-Lennox Lewis bout coming up, we grilled HBO boxing announcer George Foreman

    By Richard Deitsch

SI: What's your pick for Tyson-Lewis?

Foreman: If Tyson comes in at 222 pounds or under, I give him the edge. I'll take him in a knockout. Three rounds.

SI: In your prime how quickly do you knock out Lewis?

    Foreman: Two rounds.

  • "There is no doubt he is the greatest heavyweight of all time". Err yes there is lol

  • Lewis had limited impact.

    Publication: The Washington Times

    Publication Date: 07-FEB-04

He reigned over the division during the one of its weakest eras. The best fighter he faced was Evander Holyfield, and that didn't take place until 1999 - long past Holyfield's prime

The list of Lewis' conquests is hardly a Hall of Fame roster:

How Lewis held the title three times is not a Rocky story. He won the vacant WBC belt the first time in May 1993 with a lackluster decision over Tony Tucker.

  • Riddick Bowe Talks Comeback, Targets The Klitschkos

BoxingScene: I must ask you about Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson. Did you genuinely dislike Lennox and do you have regrets about not getting to fight him or Tyson?

Bowe: Lennox Lewis knows that when you’re fighting a champion there’s a 75/25 split but he wanted 50/50 and he knew I would never go for that.

  • I remember the Lewis v Bruno fight, Bruno was beating him until a lucky punch saved him. Definately one of the best ever though.

  • JoeCalzagheTheCoward is a cuckold sissy. he enjoys being beaten in every argument he gets his sissy ass into lo lol lol @ the sissy.

  • Mike Tyson .

  • All you americans are just jelous tht lewis was a brit, if he was American you would all admit he was the greatest or one of the greatest of all time!!! Why put he down, he created a legacy and was UNDISPUTED heavyweight champion! U try that eh? you wouldnt make it past the first bell!!

  • After Lewis Turns Down $11 Million, Bowe Fight Won't Happen Until '94

    July 21, 1993|From Associated Press

LONDON — Lennox Lewis, the World Boxing Council heavyweight champion, has rejected a deal to fight Riddick Bowe for the undisputed title.

"We declined that, and the Bowe fight won't happen until the summer of 1994," Maloney said.

Bowe, the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Assn. champion, said Lewis is a "pitiful disgrace to the manly art of boxing

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward you making stuff up bitch bowe wanted 80% of the purse to fight lewis basicaly that means bowe was scared you no nuthink about boxing lennox lewis beat everyman he ever faced rember that

  • @ItsDatGirlJordz Lot's of men beat every man he's ever faced, including Rocky Marciano, Riddick Bowe and Ingemar Johanssen.

Gene Tunney, Rocky Marciano and Riddick Bowe are the only lineal champions that have never been ko'd

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward lots of men havent aswell but the fact is lewis beat everyone he ever faced and was the best of his time so for you to act like hes a digrace is embarrising look at his record theres no digrace only digrace is you for sayingg such homo things

  • @ItsDatGirlJordz "Everyone"???

The COWARD only had 43 fights! He only ever fought a bunch of bums and has-beens, and he needed a favour of judges. If he ever faced any decent fighter in his PRIME, Sponge Cake chin Lummox Lewis would get easily destroyed

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward he kod ruddock who went 12 rounds with tyson and was a good fighter he beat tony tucker who was past it but still a good fighter he beat ray mercer in a close fight smashed golota after golota gave bowe a beating twice so at the time golota was good just abit stupid beat holyfield twice kod grant who was undefeated and just came of a tough fight against golota he beat tua dangerous fighter hasim rahman and vitali klitschko and was ducked by everyone

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward he didnt duck anyone... throughout boxing history fighters are not fighting PRIME VS PRIME all the way through because it doesnt work that way... Prime foreman beat up a washed up fraizer but he didnt duck him it's just the ages and the timing of when the boxers come into the limelight

  • @Tomolfc95 He hid in 2 Olympics 1984 + 1988 when Tyson was in his prime, he only ever had 44 fights and hand picked his opponents because he was a coward. He promised the world a Vitali rematch and retired like a coward. Would Ali do that? = NO, would Holyfield do that = NO, would Joe Louis do that = NO.

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward 44 fights aint that bad... vitali klitchko has 46 and he's 4o years old... if you hold a belt for that long your fights are less frequent because of all the discussions and challenges you have that all need to be considered and worked out.

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward he retired in his mid 30 like most boxers

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward fucking hell stop copying and pasteing these articles from paper like from 20 year ago u arab

  • lewis beat everybody he faced, mccall rematch? mccall was fine untill he realised lewis was gonna smash him to pieces then he started cryin hahahahah. seriously your either jelous tyson fans or thick as pig shit to not understand the brilliance of lewis.

  • Lennox "The Vulture" Lewis: career breakdown

Here are Lennox Lewis' most difficult opponents:

Oliver McCall - Oliver was 29 years old and stopped Lennox easily in the 2nd round. However in 1996 he fell into Crack Cocaine-Alcohol Problems. He had 3 drug related arrests and was under house arrest / drug rehab since December 15th 1996. Coward Lennox Lewis decided it was now "safe" to face Oliver McCall who would surely have knocked him out easily again if he was not in the throes of drug addiction

  • Measured Against All Time: Evander Holyfield

Beyond titles, Holyfield was recognized as Ring Magazine’s Fighter of the Year in 1987, was the Boxing Writers Association of America’s choice in 1990,1996 and 1997

Ring selected Holyfield third best Heavyweight of all time behind only Muhammad Ali and Joe Louis. In 2002, Ring selected him the 22nd best fighter of the last 80 years, up from number 44 on a pre-Tyson win 1996 list of best fighters of the last 50 years

  • Lennox "The Vulture" Lewis: career breakdown

Here are Lennox Lewis' most difficult opponents:

Mike Tyson - Before we encroach this subject, lets rewind to 1998 and a statement by Emmanuel Steward about the quality of Lennox Lewis's opposition-"Lionel Butler was on drugs, Oliver McCall was in and out of rehabilitation with drug and booze problems and Tommy Morrison went on drinking binges before the fight,"

Mike Tyson admitted he was ALSO a washed up drug addict in 2002!

    WHY BOTHER?

  • Every good fighter has to fight the bums to move up in rank. What about his wins against Klitschko, Holyfield and Bowe?

  • @BigDumbJerkLennox "The Vulture" Lewis: career breakdown

Here are Lennox Lewis' most difficult opponents:

Evander Holyfield -"If Evander Holyfield was a sparring partner in our camp, we wouldn't use him because he's too slow and too old." (c) Emanuel Steward 1999. Lennox cleverly waited until Holyfield was 37 years old to finally muster up the courage to fight him. Even then, got beat up like a ragdoll in the rematch by an old Holyfield and needed a favour from the judges like against Mercer.

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward You clearly never watched those fights and read the story's at they were wrote, you're the same guy who doesn't understand boxing and is just so upset the best heavyweight fighter is British, you must be really upset about that he knocked out all your heavyweight fighters and Mike Tyson avoided him like the plague... Truth is Riddick Bowe is a chicken shit coward and Mike Tyson was protected properly because they knew Lennox was too classy.

  • @POLChelseaFC "Knocked Out all your favourite fighters"????

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward lewis didnt wait till holyfield was 37 holyfield duck lewis for years.tyson bow and holiyfield avoid lewis in the mide 90s and if i was there manager id tell them not to fight lewis

  • @leatherface70 What?

Lewis was a world renowned bum who ducked everybody.

Holyfield would KO the SPONGE CAKE CHIN Lennox Lewis within 10 seconds. Even McCall and Rahman starched the spongecake Bummox Lewis

    haha

Are you joking or something? Lewis couldn't even fight

  • There's no way Lewis was the best of all time, but I do think on his day, he could beat any heavyweight, regardless of style.

  • Less talk, more grills.

  • the greatest of all time i dont think so. top 10 defo

  • i have lewis as my 3rd best heavyweight ever

  • prime foreman would rape lewis, plain and simple

  • yeah lewis is great but not the greatest of all time there a lot better than him

  • Lennox was bloody BRILLIANT. Always been a big fan.

    An all-time great? Yeah.

Best Heavyweight of all time? Not by a long shot.

  • @mikeymorgan How does that even make sence...

  • @dexxboyy He is up there as an all time great. But not the greatest of all time.

Plus what you wrote didn't make "sence".

  • Foreman is, in fact, an excellent judge of boxing ability. It's surprising, perhaps, seeing as he wasn't the best boxer; but he was the hardest puncher ever, so maybe his opinion should count for something?

  • @ericfaragh, I'm not so sure there - I've heard him make some pretty daft statements in the past. As others have mentioned, he's described everyone from Lennox Lewis, to Muhammad Ali, to Joe Louis to Larry Holmes as the greatest Heavyweight, and back in 2001 he claimed that James Page was a contender for p4p number one! I respect his opinions but they can be erratic at the best of times, to say the least.

  • You simply cannot compare fighters who are 16/17 stone, to fighters who were 13/14 stone.

As for Lewis being the best of all time..............Larry Holmes in his prime would have given Lewis a severe lesson in boxing, before knocking him out.

Pound for pound, Lewis does not even make the top 10.

  • @markyboy1704 I'm curious, do you believe that if Tyson would of kept his game head on, not fired Kevin Rooney and stayed away from drink, drugs and women, could have been undisputed and defeated Lewis?

  • @BDFPA I honestly believe Lewis was an awkward fighter, not a crowd pleaser but with Steward in his corner I think he would have stopped Tyson in his prime.

Lewis was good at staying behind his jab frustrating fighters, I think he would have frustrated the hellout of Tyson. I also think for Tyson to have beat Lewis he would have had to take a lot of punishment by trying to get inside & work Lewis to the body.

However, I simply don't think Lewis would have been able to overcome Holmes.

  • tyson only won in the first 3 rounds, get him past the fourth n he loses! his mouth cost him big time threatening 2 eat lewis' kids i dud of found a way 2 knock the count out. lewis is one of the best of all time so start getting used 2 it. iron like a lion in zion! the old 1-2 knockout - Lennox Lewis: my favourite boxer after smoking joe r.i.p. recognise Lennox, undisputed world heavyweight champion n left win that title aswel!!

  • lennox is second ali is first period

  • all you experts, theres no telling between diferent era's BUT the guy in the vid was there , fought em so he knows what is what in this

  • Vitali and Lennox are best all time, 1960-1970 were too small with no real def.

  • @FlyKozak I hope this is some kind of sick twisted joke

  • EVERYONE JUST SIMPLY KNOWS TYSON IS BETTER THOUGH!. TYSON WOULD HAVE BASHED LEWIS IN THE EARLY DAYS.

  • @ayresy89 Tyson lost to Buster Douglas in his early days, so Lennox could have beaten him no question.

  • @ojideagu no way, tyson was scared even to fight with george foreman at that time

  • @perokcojones Haha, That means George Foreman was scared of drug addict Tony Tucker and Axel Schulz (rematch) after getting an ass whipping...........robbed against Shannon Briggs though

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward foreman was a little over the hill in those days.mind you hes the only grandfather that i no of to be world champ i think he was 45 .he was a 45 year old fighting 25 year olds

  • @leatherface70 "World Champion" means nothing nowadays with all these alphabet titles.

Moorer was completely schooling George Foreman not losing a round, picking him off at ease. His problem was that he closed the show trying to fight like a champion instead of playing it safe. Credit to Foreman, his breadbin defence meant he conserved energy. Moorer was gassed and never recovered from the late knockdown

should be Holyfield, robbed vs Valuev

  • lewis isn't the best off top of my head he's easily behind Jack Johnson,Joe Louis & Muhammad Ali all 3 would have beaten lewis every time lewis was a boring fighter also when you look at legacy you have to take into account public sentiment which is really all it's about ticket sales lewis was the start of boxing's decline he ruled when there was no decent young talent coming through & obviously inspired no-one lewis killed boxing there's his legacy!!

  • Foreman needs to stick to selling grills

  • That's bullshit. Tyson would have rang his bell before prison. Stupid report

  • @artofcutproductions, ah, good old Tyson and his fans. "Could have, would have, should have..."

    But didn't.

  • The thing is, I think Foreman would have beat Lennox or Tyson when he was in his prime.

  • 0:47 Right there, this idiot cut from the interview to Foreman's commentating in the Lewis and Tyson fight. I think George was just getting into the moment, he knows Lennox isn't the best of all time.

  • @crowley0312 Yes He's the best till' now , Fellow

  • @crowley0312 He quite clearly is by miles better than any American heavyweight fighter, Lennox Lewis the real champion makes all the Yanks before him who held that belt look like nothing.

  • @POLChelseaFC Did Rahman and McCall look like nothing when they knocked the fuck out of Lennox?

  • @crowley0312 Yet who bested them in the end?

He came back and conquered them like they were nothing!

  • @POLChelseaFC Who relied on freakish size and over-length arms his whole career?

I hate how Lewis fans like to think those loses never happend.

I also don't like how Lewis never gave anyone rematches, yet it's fine that he pays fighters he lost to in their prime to lose to him when they're shot.

Lennox should be remembered as he was when he left the ring: Getting booed.

  • @crowley0312 Being remembered as the BRITISH heavyweight CHAMPION!!

Who beat a prime in form Vitali Klitschko beat his face into a pulp that he was that bad that he actually HAD to quit because the cut was actually that bad lol!

You see you can throw all the punches you want but if you take the cleaner more powerful shots it doesn't go for shit!

George Foreman will even tell you the same thing.

  • @POLChelseaFC Lennox smacked Vitali in the face during a clinch. He was constantly throwing dirty punches and the ref was to afraid to get between them. Vitali didn't quit, the English doctor stopped the fight.

Foreman has called nearly every champ after him the greatest at some point.

  • @crowley0312 Haha now you're trying to think of any excuse to discredit it, taking advantage of his long freakish range etc Vitali does that too!

Manny Pacquiao fights in the clinch at times aswell I guess the P4P best fighter is dirty Evander Holyfield does it so does Andre Ward and many of the TOP number 1 guys of their division fight from the clinch, it's a fight and boxing to some not all are out there to jab jab run/clinch after a punch like Wladimir Klitschko.

  • @POLChelseaFC Range is literaly Lennox's first and last line of defense. He's total reliant opon it.

When the only reason you won is by a dirty punch... Well, you didn't win IMO.

  • @crowley0312 Suggest you search up Lennox Lewis fights with Frank Bruno, fact is even in the Olympics the guy was steam rolling over people just fucking people up, he's a smart fighter he isn't like the Klitschko's he doesn't have a better jaw than Vitali, one thing I will say of Vitali is his chin is the BEST chin in the whole entire history of the heavyweights before him, that guy is a freak with the amount of punishment he has sustained with it!!

  • @crowley0312 lmfao every 1 has a right to their own opinion but are you being serious? lewis vs rahman first fight was a lucky punch lewis didnt take the fight seriously seconds before the knock out punch lewis was laughing at him. now getting knocked the fuck out was the 2nd fight they had LOL

  • @SuperChalkster It's a champion's duty to defend their title and show up ready to go. According to Lewis fans, Lennox made this mistake three times. Some champion.

  • @crowley0312 Lennox was a coward and a bum. Even Tyrell Biggs battered him in the Olympics

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward tyrell biggs was 24 and lennex was 18 wen they foght as pros lewis destroyed him in 3 rounds

  • @leatherface70

Tyson Is Not Biggs` Toughest Fight

October 12, 1987|By Sam Smith, Chicago Tribune.

Cocaine and alcohol are baffling, powerful and exciting. You can never outdo that. So I have to do everything within my power to overcome these urges and temptations. ``I don`t put myself in bad situations,`` says Biggs, who still attends alcohol and drug abuse counseling sessions.

What?......When he was a washed up drug addict you mean?

    Typical Lennox Lewis!

  • @crowley0312 lennox didn't make the mistack 3 times because he bet klitschko got paid and retired champ if you care about judges score cards watch figure scatting

  • @leatherface70 Lol, that is probably the most stupidest thing I've ever heard. He fought Vitali, got his ass kicked, got lucky, and left the ring getting booed. He'll be remembered as such.

  • @crowley0312 thi does not change the facted that lewis at 37 won the fight fair and square

  • @leatherface70 How is repeaditly punching your opponent in a clinch fair and square?

  • @leatherface70 your argument was that biggs battered lewis .lewis was a kid fighting a grown man. wen lewis was 24 he was a pro for 2 years tyson and ali were world champs for 2 years.most 18 year olds are still in high school most 24 year olds have graduated collage got married and have kids

  • @crowley0312 Lewis gave klitschko a shot and klischko couldnt handle it. weather he was winning on points or not he lost the fight period. the fact of the fight being stopped to save his eye sight was a lucky escape imo and many others because the punnishment he took in the round before it was stopped was unreal. i honestly couldnt see him being the same after that round the fight was going in one direction after it. perhaps you should watch the last round of the fight again.

  • @SuperChalkster He couldn't handle it? Looked more like Lennox couldn't. He was super scared by the end of the fight. And every punch he threw was dirty. The cut was a result of smacking Vitali during a clinch. Lennox punched vitali 10+ times in the gut during a clinch and the ref just stood there. This is one of the most pathetic wins ever... In fact, it isn't even a win IMO. The fact this fight scared Lennox into retirement says as much.

  • @SuperChalkster i dont think lewis got ready for the altitude in south africa he was breathing like a horse in the second round. rahman was there longer .this was a mistake on lewis part

  • @crowley0312 most important WE KNOOOW IT !!! ALI BOUMAYE

  • Lennox is top 10. Not the greatest, but certainly better than Mike Tyson. He beat better fighters and then when the time came, he beat up Tyson really good. He was also a yr older than mike before people wah wah about "tyson prime" b.s You'll never prove that he would have ever beaten Lennox Lewis so don't bother. Good big fighters fucked up Tyson many times. Would ahev been nice to See George Foreman and Riddick Bowe get at him, but Mike never fought them.

  • ali is the greatset boxer of all time

  • ALI IS NEVER BEEN KNOCKED OUT , LEWIS DID

  • I died a bit when he didn't mention Smokin' Joe Frazier at 0:23

  • stylistically, lennox vs ali would be awesome!

  • Once a fighter has reached a certain level I dont think anybody can truly pick out one heavyweight fighter who is the greatest of all time because there are so many variables that you would have to consider.

  • Not the best ever but maybe in the Top 10

  • The greatest fighter ever was Tyson in his youth - Lewis was no match for that 21 year old sensation - Tyson put himself around the wrong people which led to his decline and downfall..he clearly wasn't exchanging with Lewis..it was a one sided fight with Tyson getting hit again and again

  • @yellowlght Well how come Tyson's team paid Lewis not to fight???

  • @yellowlght Tyson avoided the likes of Holyfield for years and every good fighter he fought beat him. Ali is the greatest heavywieght, infact greatest boxer of all time.

  • yep lennox was the best.

  • 12 mad Americans.

  • I've heard Foreman call Frazier, Larry Holmes, Muhammad Ali, and now Lennox Lewis "The Greatest of All Time". I believe this guy just likes to talk, perhaps making up for the time he spent being a mute in his first stint as a boxer.

  • @bu3oday haha couldn't have put it better

  • @bu3oday He also said that he was terrified of Frazier and Norton, and lucky to win against them!

  • @carmodifire being scared makes you stronger a tiger thats cornered is most dangeris foreman scared hed be very dangeris

  • @leatherface70 No, I think he was being polite. He always was saying stuff like that.

  • @403766 -.- so what? foreman fought very great competition

  • @403766 he fought ali and frazier........what would you call them?
