  • Agh! My name is Megan! You must associate my name with 'hate'!

  • i loved the video it was great i understood what you where talking about. dont let the stupid people comments get to you. there just jealous.

  • For some reason this reminds me of 'Sunscreen'. erm. yah.

  • there's nothing wrong with fat plurals! ;D

  • I dont think the word bed would be a person I think it actually would be a bed. beed<--queen size.

  • 0101010011010101

  • I like your imagination.

  • Simple country youths are analogous to naive city kids, the former inexplicably firing more appreciation triggers in naive minds. People who grow old in the countryside aren't simple folk by any stretch of the imagination. They tend to be cunning and twisted, yet stupid, those who resist this trend attaining a state closer to sainthood.

A rhetorician like you will appreciate that these aren't moral judgements on my part. No, they're the best adjectives I can think of to describe my subjects.

  • no they wouldn't.

  • you are officially one of the most interesting people i have discovered on youtube yet.....thanks for your videos

  • Azrienoch: Part time journalist. Full time POET.

  • Well done....more to come, I hope.

  • Wow, I tried hard to understand you cause your cute...but cute itself is a word that would probably get stepped on unmercifully, for being what it is..."cute"... I'm actually glad words are not people.

  • Did the fuck rebel say "zeit heil?" what? I knew it! the word FUCK is a nazi!

  • What about racism in all of this or maybe, religion? I wanna know puh-lease!!!

  • wow I wish you could have done this with your new mic. Great stuff.

  • If words were people...hmm... everything you said sounds like something Murakami would've written. Which isn't a bad thing.

    Interesting video.

  • Incredible! This one and the poem about the two dots are my favorites of yours so far.

  • "If there were too many words around, nearby words loose their meaning, and in extream cases die".So i got this love letter from a boy named Greg...and it just went on and on ... and ON....and on some more...by the time i got to the end of it, he had said so many things...that it all just lost meaning...like it wasnt about what he really thought, but how long and articulate he could make the letter sound...if he just would have said one or two lines of the whole thing,.it would have ment alot...

  • @NikkiLoree thus there were so many words around, that they all just lost there meaning...

  • That was strangely deep and meaningfull. D':

  • Az ur awesome! i love those buildings.. u did a great job. =]

  • I agree with you, if people didnt care ,the words would not have conjunction. So when people care about each other their words have cohesion? Depending on the meaning in that country (FLAG), for instance in china the word LION may have a different meaning than in America or the UK.

  • In the city of Dallas Texas Ya'll is standing proud and Happy. I heard he was doing well from Houston to Georgia. Step off you word Nazi. I like my southern draw. : )

  • lol - I've friends in NYC and Boston that say "ya'll"

I'm kinda with ya on that.

  • Very nice Az. The visuals and sound effects are great. I admit to being distracted by ya'll vs y'all.

It kind of feels like Schoolhouse Rock for adults.

  • Odd. I don't remember trying for or claiming any sort of analogy, just wordplay.

  • Yes, I must not. Tell us, what is wordplay, O great one, and how does this not count? Please tell us, because we're all too stupid to know simply because you say so, and you, as our all-knowing and powerful God, would know.

Fuck off. You're wrong, and that's all there is to it. There is no analogy, so it didn't fail. But apparently SOMETHING failed, because you say so. What is it? I failed to play with words?

When you imply you're the smart one, I don't believe you.

  • "then you don't know what wordplay is"

I'm gonna take a stab or poke or prod.

    Play with words?

  • @triumphdeschillens

    Don't forget he's a massive fag.

    LOL

Bet ten bucks you could get a one two K.O. just by ripping out his fucking piercings.

  • How long did it take the make the word buildings?

  • I believe there are too many words that are meaningless. Or- is it the people from whom the words come that make them lose their meaning?

    Hmmm.... ;)

    Good job!

  • Brilliant and artistic video. Very nicely done.

  • Does the bianry code on your arm mean anything?

  • I love that the word fuck is the one making all the ruckus. I imagine fuck would be a really strong woman with the ability to use her anger over whatever her cause is for positive in spite of being a "four letter word." Perhaps that is where she gets her anger - from being marginalized as a "four letter word."

  • Speechless - (aka Bob)

  • Brilliant.

  • This was an awesome video. I added it to my playlist of exceptional videos. Fived and faved.

I'm from the small town by the way, I love the word Y'all. It is strange that the Old English had the word Ye, but now, after all this time, only the word Y'all comes as close.

    Truly a great vid, Azrienoch

  • love it!!! great work!

  • I am not smart enough for this...

  • Brilliant use of words visually, Stunning....

  • It's great that you've done something with some artistic content (besides words, of course) that keep people hanging out and wondering what you are going to do next.

Kudos to you! And I'm waiting for what comes after this - !

  • Wow. Nice outside-of-the-box thoughts.

  • If only some people could elevate themselve to words.

  • comment deleting poophead.

  • U tryin' to approve use of the N word or somethin?

    j/k...

  • I like words I do. =}

If I could be any word I would like to be the word `finite`. It's a great word.

  • flowers for algernon words?

  • If words were people, would they worship thought as their god? Would translation be their devil? Would alliteration be considered a form of homosexuality? Would drinking too much lead to being misspelled?

I got a million of 'em!

  • Haha, those are awesome.

  • back for seconds, cause you're just that watchable. i missed the subtle but completely rad sound effects at :12 and :29 the first time <33

as amazing as your videos are, i still think you should market that voice. books on tape maybe?

  • <3333 I needed that trip. Thanks!

  • ¡Palabra! Mot! Wort! λέξη Parola 単語 Palavra 낱말 слово 词 WORD! :D

  • Binary pyramid on your arm? Do tell...

  • Yes, please, do tell..!! Screen to small to decode it =}

  • i'm really happy to see a more story like video...it's been a while, you started going on more personal-opinion-like tangents, and as entertaining as those are, i think i like these story telling videos better

  • umm..i have no words. seriously.

  • Beautiful piece of work. Thanks very much.

  • Great, thought provoking video :)

  • If Wordsworth were where words were with you and words that would with Wordsworth will words with him weild, where would you will words to be?

Would it be in this world?

  • "Ya'll"? Come on. You know better than that. You + all = y'all.

  • I refuse to think less of someone just because they're misspelled.

  • Well put :)

  • Point taken, but even on a second or third viewing, the misspelling is pretty distracting.

  • All those white people said the same to Rosa Parks on the bus. Ya'll is a revolutionary. ;)

  • Fair enough. I remember reading direct quotes in my middle school social studies text books, e.g.:

"Ms. Parks, I'm afraid that I find your insistence on sitting in that particular seat a tad distracting. Please, let's take a few more trips around the block to see if I become less bothered by it, allowing me to fully enjoy this bus ride." -- All Those White People. Montgomery, AL. December 1, 1955.

  • What if they were intentionally misspelled?

  • What's in a name?

That which we call a rose

By any other name would -

Still be as snooty and aloof

  • ignorance is bliss

  • You are amazing!! AND cute. If i were a word, I'd just be a ! Perhaps two in fact.

  • 1:50 zieg hail

    LOL

  • Cant agree more.

  • That was weird.

  • Oh ... oh, oh. Oh. Oh.

    Yo -

  • mmmm

    i like this

    a lot.

  • If words were people, Azrienoch would be "awesome".

  • I don't know how I ended up subbing you, but I'm glad I did. Your stuff is always very entertaining.

  • Is this an upload from the past or does your hair grow ridiculously fast?

  • I like this video. It is one of your more creative with the analogy of words as people. I live in Saint Louis and work in a suburb where I see white-flight and a lack of community feeling because the inner-city communities are slowly dying. Its like it is every person for themselves. Great video dude. Big fan.

  • brilliant! like all the rest.

  • Fuck

  • Love this. Aw Az, I miss you.

  • Miss you too!

  • WERDS ARE PEOPLE, TOO!

  • Binary tattooed onto your left arm?

  • fuck yeah

  • im speechless lol

  • out of all your videos this one is my fav

  • brilliant...

um is it just me or did your hair grow really fast?

  • Super fast.

  • Love It

  • my mind just...blew up...that was really interesting

  • I like the visual image of a big city being a dictionary and over population being a serious problem. I like the pace and tone found in the sound, I like words becoming the art used to describe what they would be if they were something other than words. Cheers 5/5!

  • deep

  • I like this very much

  • this was amazing :D

  • This is anything BUT a fail. Please make more xD

  • azrienoch i want t-shirts of you.

I will research putting your face on a t-shirt.

  • Wow Az, really good job.

  • Great idea. I'd be even more excited if you'd only used type and abstract type treatments rather than adding the drawings, animated or not. That sloppy house was pretty sloppy; also 'minimalism' seemed to have much better sound, a shame because I think there's more to this one than that.

I hope despite all that you decide to make another installment someday.

  • The sloppy look is just the style I've been doing. See my art on facebook. The image I did that inspired this is there, "A smalltown word named Jim goes to the big city." Sound has always been a problem for me, and since I keep getting ripped off with microphones, I stopped caring a while back. Anyway, so thanks for the criticism, but I like it as is, and any future installments will retain this quality.

  • well done

  • if words were people, people would be words. trivialize boston from me when you get there... or was det baltimor... well, some big time dictionary, anyway.

  • Love this. One of your best.

  • great job, y'all!

  • ohsoawesome. :]

  • Wait, if words were people, why would buildings be made out of words? That's just impractical.

  • Az-can I call Ya Az-That was really well done. You really should include the number of hours it takes to creat these labors of love, in the side bar. Good job.

Now if words were people, would they go to war? would a war of words still sting as much? Could words kill? or do more than hurt? Could they cleave letters off, by just being curt?Could be they're cannibals that eat their own words. and spit them out when they're dirty or worse. If words were people, would we better mind our words?

  • I love "ya'll"

  • fucking brilliant

  • If I was a word I would be Olive.

  • hell yeah. im a small town word and i love it. Id lose my head being a big city word.

  • like

    pickle

    or potluck

    or bake sale

    or covered dish

  • Your a genius!!! This is pure gold!

  • I have a dog )

  • love yur vids and u. u have to be one of the few smart ppl on here.

  • If owrds were people, would dictionaries be concentration camps,

    Or,

    Nurseries?

  • If words were people.. the bible would be quite... crowded..

couldn't think of a mucho expensivo word

  • "Expensivo" works. It's expensivo.

  • I have noted the hills are wavy! Again, Great job!!!

  • that was good, I am enjoying these videos you've been making lately, they are very intelligent and make you think.

  • I am Jim = You. Ha ha Anyhow, awesome videos man. I've been subscribed for a good while. Not disappointed at all!! Cheers!!!

  • Damn, You are smart.

  • pretty cool, az! I think the late george carlin would have liked this! He loved words too! I was wondering, what software did you use to make this mini masterpiece?

  • I like your binary mountains on your arm. If words were people and people were words, I wouldn't want to read the novel entitled Earth as it would be too many words, yet the novel entitled moon may be a bit too short.

    Thanks again for the books.

  • this is a really dope video, man.

    glad i subscribed.

  • I've always loved your nac for words and editing. YOU ARE NOT VIEWED AND SHOWN ENOUGH ATTENTION.

  • I agree. Let's change this. ;)

  • I love this

  • Masterfully executed. Which program did you use?

  • Thanks, AfterEffects CS3.

  • Oh nevermind, I'm watching the Reverend's video right now and you answered it there.

  • Be sure to catch the magic trick.

  • Ooooooooooooooooh. Now THAT was a card trick. Damn, I'm gonna have to rethink this whole atheist thing. What are you?

  • I'm Jesus 2.0

  • I love the editing of this and how you made a social environment out of words. Very nice.

  • Az, this is wonderful! ^_^

If words were people, books would be like separate countries. And the question would still be asked, "Can't we all just get along?"

  • Thanks Steven.

  • Two of my favorite people.

  • gnarly job bro haba,ba,ba bartel do

  • I liked this... especially the part about names, being that we are called, what we are not.

  • Nice vid, I spent about ten minutes pausing the video and seeing what all the words were. I always thought it was "y'all" though? What's up with that?

And I got my books today, thanks!

  • Excellent. I had a box waiting at the apartment office and I was dreading that something got sent back, but it was just a thing for spricket.

  • Awesome video! But it's y'all and not ya'll. I think I would be the word y'all if words were people.

  • Oh, yes, let's discriminate because someone doesn't look conventional. Typical city scum.

  • If I were a word I would be = fail.

  • If words were people they would all be dead.

  • chomsky

  • Oh fun 8D

  • I particularly liked the "bad" words business.... Interesting.

Though, what if people were words?

  • If people were words I'd be a pronoun.

  • If you were a pronoun, you'd also be a verb.

  • Great typography. I'd like to see more from this series even though this wasn't my favorite video.

  • truly brilliant,or am i high again?

  • Awesome work! Really enjoying the text animation. Looks amazing. I know how much work goes into that kind of project. Great job Jeff. Cheers!

  • How much crack have you smoked?

Ohhh loaded question. Quick run from the fallacy gang!

  • Only the word ''word'' is truly sexy.

  • LOVE it. You rock.

  • Right now I'm having one of those rare YouTube moments where after the video finishes playing, I sit here and ponder all the layers and meaning of what I just witnessed.

    Man, I love these moments.

  • This was great, Az. Awesome animation, and clever narrative.

The pauses between the "if words were people..." sentences slows it down, I think. I wonder if it would be more exciting in a "slam poetry" style delivery?

But I really liked it. I'm impressed by the 3D rendering and anthropomorphized movements of the words. It's how you can really tell what the "Fuck" is doing in front of the word-crowd from its up-raised "F" and movements. Loved! ★★★★★

  • *amazing how

  • Thanks. As for the pauses, the tone needed that speed. Could have done it fast, but it would have sounded like a rant, and that would go against the sort of ponderous nature of the thing. Plus, going too fast doesn't leave room for any thought or laughter.

  • Remember Dance Monkeys Dance, Ernest Cline? That's the pace I was thinking of... But I know what you mean.

  • I think Az is right re pauses. Slam poetry has its place.

It's Zen: the silence of a pause contains and creates meaning.

  • Let's leave the slam poetry for things like Punany (name is Bertha) and Vajayjay (name is the same as the word), please.

    /fun vid, Az

  • Where were the grammar nazi's?

  • Actually, the crowd cheers at the explicitive rally are from a speech Hitler gave in 1938.

  • The Matrix seems to have ejaculated on your arm.

  • Your typography videos are getting better every time. I really like them, and your abilities are improving. Impressive. Keep up the good work!

  • You are a clever guy. Well done.

  • Ignorance only gives the illusion of happiness.

  • I don't think their happiness is a matter of ignorance, but freedom. With fewer words around, they necessarily can mean more.

  • But with fewer words you have fewer options. To explain truly complex and deep ideas you would have to invent new words. Which leads you down the path of eliminating the traits you endorse... The key is not fewer words but in learning to optimize which words you choose. Much like writing in a box with a 500 character limit.

  • No.

    (See what I did there?)

  • Yes

  • Outstanding work as always.

  • Your last sentence made the happiest clique.

  • Don't you know that contractions require a verb? Neither "you" nor "all" is a verb. The "contraction" you made is unnatural, corrupting, and threatens the sanctity of contraction itself. It's mere coinage is an abomination to God and for that, you will burn in hell!
