the story I heard is simply it made very little money and couldnt satisfy the 60 grand a year to broadcast on sky.

also i belive they got a hefty fine from ofcom because they it was hard to descern between adverts and actual content. e.g when they used to leave the song details runnning on the bottom of the screen during ads. i think thats what finished them off.

Apparently, I've heard, all their hopes were rested in the last album. If it got a huge amount of success and a good income for them, they would carry on. But it didn't get as big as they needed it.

Such a great band! It's a shame.

yeah managing Hideous records, touring with the band, home life and working another job was just too much for them all to deal with having hardly any money coming in due to them still being relatively underground.

That and the fact Jamie hates touring, they just went on hiatus for a while, with a reunion looking more and more unlikely, seeing as Jon and Guy are now starting a new band up.

Unfortunately, was bound to happen someday. I think everything rested on the third album. From what I hear, they couldn't afford to live on the band, as they have families. Stuck with part time jobs, and a music industry where you need to be fairly big to make any profit...that third album needed to be the big one.

It's not for lack of effort...I've seen them in more magazines this year than any other year they've been going.

It's a shame that, once again, we've lost a great British band.

Hiatus is a way of the basics of an album without having to spend money, the label can't support the entire album, so the band goes on hiatus, to write songs, and the label pays for the production...

It's a shame if they do break up though, probably the only Post-Hardcore band worth listening to.

Although Reuben seem to have a similar raw grunge style that nirvana had i definately wouldn't call them the nirvana of their generation, at ALL! Nirvana was dirtier, rawer, moodier and careless! I absolutely LOVE nirvana, and i love reuben, they're great live, but i don't see much comparison to be honest.
