This sonata sounds deceptively simple, but to play it with the right feeling is not at all easy. This young lady feels the essence of Mozart - this sonata, rightly played, IS the essence of Mozart. A great pianist like Gould, for instance, did not capture it - even though I greatly respect him.

Her name is Yuja Wang.

She was born on February 10th, 1987 in Beijing. She started her piano studies at age 6 and later went on to study at the Central Conservatory of Music of Beijing. She currently lives in New York, and she is a celebrated concert pianist. In fact she is up there with the top pianists like Martha Argerich and Vladimir Ashkenazy. Check out videos of her playing Mendelson and Cziffra's arrangement of flight of the bumblebee. She is an absolute musical phenomenon.

The tempo is in Allegro. If you read the actual composition the tempo is suggested in Allegro. This tempo is like moderato which is incongruent to the actual K545 Sonata.

This girl is good but should listen to Wolfgang's suggestion on the tempo. I think it is quite disrespectful not to play it to Mozart's considerations.
