  • but you have to stick it into the cradle. you still have to stick something in...

  • Induction. HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • Does this works with the ipod 4th gen???

  • Come on Apple... It's 2011!! Make this a standard "built-in" feature so that any case can fit over the phone!! Everything should be wireless by now..technology moves too slow for me lol :)

  • @LightMike4u

If you had inductive charging built into the iPhone, it would have to be thicker, that, or it would take forever to charge.

  • thats like the power mat LOL

  • Just bought it whilst it was on sale for 10US$. The induction docket doesn't seem to work for my 3gs. BUT the upside is that the spare usb docket on it with the iphone usb docket connector practically acts as a wall charger. So on sale, this is far cheaper than the apple chargers at 30US$. Not sure why the induction doesn't work though.

  • Not as cool as it seems. In order for it to work, you have to replace your everyday iphone cover with that special "power receiving" case. The case is a bit too clunky and not protective enough to want to carry it around all the time. Which means, in order to use the device, you have to swap between covers. Not good. Easier just to buy an extra usb cable and wall plugin.

  • Does it work for iPods?

  • @Muddy2715 Nah, read previous comments

  • if only the charger was built into the table then that would be something

  • @0neofthem they do have chargers that are built into a table, extreamly exspenceve, but they do (resource, e3)

  • technically, you do still use wires though....

  • I want it!

  • Just a very very cheap crappy version of the "Powermat".

  • I don't see how this is any different from a regular ipod dock. And you're forced to use some proprietary case. And can you even sync to itunes with this? And sure, the case doesn't have a wire ... but the actual product has a wire. So it's not like you're eliminating the amount of wires. And how would you manage to use the phone while it's charging?

  • @lesliekwan80 thats a very good point there sir.

  • @lesliekwan80 u could use speaker? rite...? i don have i phone i have ipod touch

  • this plus wireless sync from cydia would be awesome!

  • Yes, because it's so inconvenient to plug in a cable. You're just replacing one wire with another, the one that comes out of the charging plate. I don't see the big deal.

  • @LoneTortuga I find I often forget to plug my iphone back in. For this I would just have to remember to place it in the same spot which I do anyways. Its a plug in once and forget thing.

  • when he was on the phone with tha person how did he get the picture to be right next to there name

  • is there one for ds light

  • does it work with iPod Touch?

  • @DemonOfRazgriz89 No, and don't try it or you could fry your touch. They specifically stated iphone 3G/3GS.

  • coooooool

  • What is that cable attached to the unit running along the desk? Is that not a wire..?

  • @jazzytey Or perhaps that's wishful thinking. I guess the "wirelessness" is that there are no wires running to and from the iPhone.

  • @jazzytey Thank you Mr. Obvious .

  • @jazzytey you think?

  • @DemonOfRazgriz89 I should clarify. I was wishfully expecting the wireless to be of the charger itself, i.e., no cables at all going to an A/C outlet. My second comment was supposed to express my disappointing realization of what the actual wireless aspect of the device was.

  • Looks like a waste to me... I'd buy either a dock or a second cable to tape to my desk before spending all that money on something like this.

  • seems like a giant waste of 50$ to me.

  • I've seen ones that charge up to three devices at a time... What I want to know is -how-. Microwave sensitive batteries that come with such a unit? Or does it do something using existing batteries?

  • @Spiritrunner6 Induction charging from the base station to either a specially designed battery, or in this case, to the small docking unit on the bottom. I don't know what part of the EM spectrum they take up, but I imagine it's not the microwave spectrum. From what I've read of patents, it's typically quite low frequencies.

  • @Gazarethster All I cn say is; That's friggen sweet!

  • The mic was on mute haha :P

  • holy crap! why didn't i see this before! i am so buying this! wow again....FIRST!

  • @ironeli101

Dude! Where have you been? Apple has had this product for like 2 years now.

  • @BlackBerryMafia but it's way cooler when it's from thinkgeek, as is everything ;)
