My DX-375 uses 2 Cs; eats them with a vengeance. I use NMiH , which go for about $10 (15lb) a pair at Home Depot. Few months back, made the mistake of letting it run as the batteries faded and died, but it didn't revive when I installed fresh ones. I left them out for a day, no change; same for 2 day, a week. After a month, I was ready to salvage the speaker and toss the rest, but after one last try, it came back like new. So, if anyone's stuck with a dead DX-375, try a month with no batteries!
I have seen the d cell battery holders before but never got round to using them. they are a great idea. I need to buy new recharegable batteries as all mine are worn out.
