i had one just like this one till me and my friend wrecked it into my camper it hit one side busted into 20 pieces on the other side we wreck it the day i bought it was a waste of 50 bucks and 1 day of my life
Great looking plane and great flying too. I busted mine pretty bad and tried modifying with xmods, but xmods just didn't seem to have the torque...runs very hot. I gave up and overhauled the entire plane. I ended up putting in 1 brushless motor and new wings, rudder+elevator with all new electronics...cost about $50 for mods from unitedhobbies. does like 50+ mph now and takes off in about 1 sec. see my favorites
Nice! I bought one of these a few weeks ago and I've been looking around to see if anyone has done this, I guess so! They are great in stock configuration but awefully clumsy if I may say so, I'd love to have mine handle like yours...By the way, how'd your buddy make out with the orangeish one he built?
With all you changed you almost made it a new plane. =D This thing is far too big for a thrust vector plane if you ask me. Adding a rudder was a great idea.

No way in fucking hell that thing looks like Fat Albert. Only Fat Albert ever is a true C-130. All that would be is a cheap ass Aero Commander painted in FAA colors. 1/5 >_>
well modifying the estes planes is illeagal. but what the hell i modfied mine. they actually have a good cheap brand. cost way less thatn the regulars
thats a lie about the 30,000 rpm motors, my plane does the same thing, i have to tigth the propelers, and it's stock, and youre plane does not fly like 30,000 rpm power. any way, your flying skills are exelent, nice flying and nice adaptations you did to youre plane
Well, if they are not 30k rpm motors, then Radioshack lied to us. See how the wires are sticking out the bottom of the wing, yeah, well stock has no wires showing, so tell me those are stock motors.
@srtwrxsti I know this is a very old comment, but quick comment...first of all, nice flying...
These are 30k rpm motors, but that does not mean you're gonna get 30k rpm. 30k rpm is with no load, so if you put a prop on it, you're probably dropping into the low 10k ranges or even lower...
@srtwrxsti bull shit it has no wires showing... mine does... and i need some help finding propellors... I am in a pinch because i have not enough money really to upgrade or anything, i was just looking for the propellors that go with the stock motor, any help? thanks
yo how did you actually get the x-mods motors in? my stock motors broke when i crashed the thing and i'm currently switching them out for x-mods 30rpm motors like you guys did but the x-mods motors turn the wrong way and push the plane backwards... so how did you guys tackle that problem? new plane, props, or something... any help would be appreciated! thanks
if your motor are going backwards, check and make sure the red wire is atached to the red wire, and black is atached to black, if not change them around, if they are right still change them around. Any time the wires are switched it will make the motors turn the opposite way.
i crashed mine a while back, hit the ground left wingtip first, brike the middle of the left whing in half
