  • Despite how good this is, you know some pictures are not of Belsen? I know one pic was of Buchenwald (Elie Wiesel is in it) and the Band of Brothers liberated Kaufering IV, subcamp of Dachau.

  • @Awaketonightanna Yes. I Know. Apologies for that. Had trouble finding suitable footage at the time - although there is some Belsen footage around on Youtube which I could have pilfered. Not the point really tho.

  • Almost as shocking as the photographs of Hiroshima

  • God, how can human did such horror to fellow human...damn.

  • This is absolutely sick and I like your description. Only a survivor could actually tell you what it was like.

  • LOL, sad pictures from victims reduced to skeletons, original from 1945 and than the patriotical heros from the Army from Hollywood. Remember the puresuit of the jews began in ´38 and the liberation was 7 years later. If the oil-supply would be in danger they were there in ´37.

But whatever every liberation is good, just the video is corny.

  • 10 000´s in the safety dead ! Have you know that you poor little ami and little britain dwarfs ??

  • @finsterwald181167 What the hell are you on, dude!??

  • Kill all Nazi's

  • @Funkstar124 I know everyone is talking about how the SS should have been torn apart and so forth, but I agree with you that if we did that, we'd be on the same level as them.

But yeah, really good video and music, I'm currently researching a novel which contains a section about the liberation of Belsen and this has given me some good ideas. All we can do is pray that a country will never lose their humanity like this again and do this to innocent people.

  • @Jazzyjadz The best of the story is that the most labourcamp people in the east have want go with the germans ! That´s the reason why the camps in the reich like belsen was collapse-the germans have bring them in the west that they have the war end by the allies ! The fear to be punish from the bolshevists that they have worked for the germans was so big and do you know what the amis and the little britain brits have do ?? They have 100 000´s send back in the sovietunion-

  • Nice vid and song.

  • why didn,t the british soldiers who liberated belsen on that day leave the survivors rip those cruel gaurds eyes and hair out. if i was a british soldier that day nothing would have given me great pleasure than seeing those guards suffer at the hands of the survivors. r.i.p & god bless those who suffered.

  • @thesoulcrew . I thinks lots agree but I think the full scale of the horror only became more apparent as the first days went by. These camps were generally abandoned by the Germans who knew full well what they were doing and so ran for it.

The fact that we didn't allow others to do unto them as they had done to those in the camps is what sets us apart from them.

  • @Funkstar124 ummmm what about an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth . what these cruel bastards did to another human being is beyond belief. i hope every one of them are rotting in hell.

  • @Funkstar124 no, actually in some camps the prisoners did beat the guards to death while the americans looked on. we executed nazis as much as they did us during wartime.

  • @thesoulcrew, You should read about the liberation of Dachau by the US Army.

Not all troops were as willing to let it go unpunished.

  • @thesoulcrew you dont want to go down to their level. they are animals (and thats giving animals a bad name) these camp guards are stoking the fires of hell right now and forever.

  • @thesoulcrew Understandable you could think that, but that would only have put the british on the same level as the germans ( i never use the capital level when i say germany ) the germans will have this guilt for a thousand years.

  • @thesoulcrew Actually, there were cases of liberated prisoners lynching and beating their former guards to death. At Dachau, the Americans were so shocked that they shot some Nazi guards; it became known as "The Dachau Massacre". The Americans also forced guards (and local citizens) to clear diseased bodies without protective gear. One commandant was forced to lie among corpses, spat on, and then handed over to the prisoners.

  • @Goodiesfanful Karma is a bitch:)

  • Most of this is not Belsen

  • @BlackCountryPuddler -That's hardly the point!! I had difficulty getting Belsen footage so had to settle for shots from the other camps and Band of brothers. The music track I wrote although may be called "Belsen" , the tribute applies to all who suffered under the Nazis. Thanks for the observation though.

  • May all of the Victims lay in peace, and Anne Frank and Margot Frank...Even though their bodies have been thrown in a mass grave...*tear*

  • the ss guards should have been left for prisoners to tear apart. anyone who participated in this terrible crime should have been punished by the prisoners who lost there loved ones. may the victims of the holocaust rest in peace

  • This is what separates us from people like them Jordy123pordy. We have compassion and consciences and a soul. The fact that similar things happened in Serbia not long ago show that this sickening side of human nature still exists and won't go away very easily - no matter how horrific the atrocity. All we can do is fight it. And this - we will.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • NE PAS PERDRE LA MEMOIRE DE L'HORREUR ABSOLUE!

    Shalom!

  • @Funkstar124 I am with you brother,or sister.God Bless you too.We are still grieving for all these innocent people, just by watching this documentary.May they all continue to rest in heaven, and they are.

  • @Funkstar124, Read about the liberation of Dachau.. Even civilized soldiers can reach their breaking point. I agree with your comment, but you should know its not always that easy or simple.

  • @Funkstar124 the americans were equally guilty of 'war crimes'. also, upon liberation many prisoners were too weak to do much and killing guards wasnt what they were thinking.

  • americans recorded at the Dachau dissident camp that the jews made up only 12% of the total registrations while the records indicate that the jews were only 23% of the Auschwitz registrations. The IRC recorded that around 270,000 people in total died at all of the dissident camps almost all from malnourishmnet and diseases which indicates that less than 100,000 jews died. The vast majority of the deaths were caused by the Allies when they decided to bomb all of the German supply warehouses.

  • @ForTheArticles This is a typical holocaust denier's guilty post. Naturally it was all the Allied fault for bombing innocent Germans. Notice that the shortage of supplies caused by the horrible allies bombing the warehouses didn't turn the Belsen guards or the villagers of Bergen Belsen into dying skeletons. They were all fat and well fed. I was in Bergen Belson as a British soldier about four weeks after it was liberated. The final solution of the Jewish question was German policy.

  • @jordy123pordy Similar things happened in some camps, but these could not have been established as war crimes without due process. There were camps where Nazi Youth were executed by firing squads.

  • Kes,seeing it on your screen yesterday I thought I'd stop by & have another listen.Brilliant.

  • if i was in charge i would have made to whole german population eat them..might as well whent that far

  • Dear Funkstar, I hope you did not think I was been critical.

Well done on the music, it is excellent, you are obviously very tallented.

  • Thanks a lot for the comment. Happy New Year yo you and your family.

  • Sadly this film gives the impression that Bergen concentration camp was liberated by the Americans - when in actual fact it was liberated by the British

  • Well spotted Whitbywatcher. Forgive my error. It was indeed the British and Canadian forces that Belsen was surrendered to by Himmler (who was responsible for al concentration camps). The film is representative of the freedom fought for by all involved in the liberations and I wrote the music in this film to reflect the sadness and finally the relief of those who were left that their ordeal was over - at least for that moment. Obviously the scars would be with them for the rest of their lives.

  • @Whitbywatcher ya no...It was indeed liberated by the Americans...watch the documentary on the holocaust(the last days)..American Soliders are talking about when they liberated the camp!

  • @LovenLifeForever1 No Whitbaywatcher is correct The camp was liberated on April 15, 1945 by the British 11th Armoured Division. 60,000 prisoners were found inside, most of them seriously ill, and another 13,000 corpses lay around the camp unburied. The scenes that greeted British troops were described by the BBC's Richard Dimbleby, who accompanied them:

  • is there any movie describing the liberation.I want to see how they got out (jews) if Germans respected them after the liberation

  • I'm sure there should be somewhere. I wouldn't know anyone who may have such footage except maybe the History Channels etc.

As a matter of interest, I went to Berlin in 2006 and was shown the monuments in tribute to the people lost but it somehow seemed very inadequate to me. Even the German guy I was being escorted around by agreed.

  • picture 1:53 whats happening there?

  • I take it you're referring to th guy in the parachute harness? I believe they experimented on people when simulating loads of things like lack of oxygen, cold, heat and de-pressurisation. There's nothing better than to test the body's reaction to various extreme conditions than a living breathing human being. Sick Huh?
