Mr. Michael Santiago "The Voice of the BSG:TOS Cylons" told me in an email. I got his email address from IMDb Pro. He told me they used a vocoder called the 4000 (there isn't any...but only EMS has vocoders called the thousands). The saxophone (which he didn't clarify if acoustic/electric/ or acoustic-electric, if there are such just like an acoustic-electric guitar) is what he told me is the carrier-wave.

And now that he's told and I've re-listened...it does sound saxophone-like to me.

I remember when i saw this as a kid. It kinda reminded me of Star Wars, and if it was, Bond would be flying an X-Wing(since his laser is red) and the other guy is in a TIE Fighter(Since his laser is Green[well it's blue actually] but what the hell, it's hard to tell with this poor quality so i'll say it's green) and it kinda makes the different sounds that the X-Wing and TIE fighter lasers do.
