I'm a proud owner of a Kindle fire. One of my best purchase so far. I have a DSLR so i don't care about it not having any camera. It's not an iPad replacement, and never intended to be so. One thing that can make this perfect is external memory slot since I use this to watch movies on the go, and 8GB is very restricting.

@svantiii About 3 hours maybe 4, but it helps to lower the strain on your eyes if you lower the brightness. The E-Ink Kindle's alright too but it's frustrating trying to read with it in mild darkness because of it's screen :(

@ALLgenre89 It depends. Ipad has more apps but is more expensive and it is bigger. The kindle fire is more portable than the ipad, is cheaper, and is better for reading (in my opinion). I would buy the kindle fire instead of the ipad as it is more practical (price-wise and because of it's functions).

It's so hilarious watching all the anti-Apple sheep come out of the woodwork on any article about a product that might compete with an Apple product; that alone shows Apple have distinguished themselves from the mass of crap. I have to say objectively speaking, this tablet looks good. It's no iPad, but it has an appropriate price.
