I won't argue there. Italian politics are disgusting. They are just as corrupt as the next. However, as far as changing governments, from what I understand it isn't done because a term is up. For example, in the US, after the 4 year term, a new Presidential election is underway. Every time out, it's a 4-year period. So in most countries it is still called football or the way football is translated to their language (in German it is called Fussball, Fuss = foot and Ball = ball). And beside USA I only know Japan where it is called soccer. In Japan but ony because of the strong influence of the American to Japan. Most ppl learn the english term football.

I won't argue there. Italian politics are disgusting. They are just as corrupt as the next. However, as far as changing governments, from what I understand it isn't done because a term is up. For example, in the US, after the 4 year term, a new Presidential election is underway. Every time out, it's a 4-year period. But in countries like Italy & Canada, some others, governments fail due to a "no-confident" votes by their Parliament. This is what causes all the government changes

Right, the word itself came from England. But in England the sport was called football from the beginning. Damn, they invented football. So in most countries it is still called football or the way football is translated to their language (in German it is called Fussball, Fuss = foot and Ball = ball). And beside USA I only know Japan where it is called soccer. In Japan but ony because of the strong influence of the American to Japan. Most ppl learn the english term football.

Also very logical, when you consider for how long Australia was a British colony. Canada is another story, they are also mostly influenced by the American English vocabulary. And yes it matters. Because though English invented the word "soccer", they call their sport football.

From what I can see most people have a problem with American football just for the fact that it is American.
