  • I wonder that they even had sex to procreate (if they do). They could just make test tube babies. I mean, how can one avoid feeling SOMETHING during sex?

  • Retard below

  • Ah, ya liberal morons! Take your touchy feely emotional philosophy and shove it where the sun don't shine. Burn that Monin' Lisa! It was over rated art anyway, the same way most art is. Bullshit on a piece of paper and if your name is well known, the liberal dump shits will purchase it. Heh. Madonna shits on a plate you eat it. Or that lady gag gag. Her, MJackson the Beatles all of them SHIT! SHIT FOR BRAINS! Don't bother to message. You will notice I have NO friends here> I make sure of that!:)

  • The idea of humans without emotion is impossible. I don't think anyone would find living worthy because they couldn't feel what's special about it. Why would you live when you don't hurt or enjoy? The idea of this makes me cringe.

  • Errol Partridge looks like Vladimir Lem From Max Payne 2

  • They shouldn't of chosen Christian Bale for this because he shows emotion (such as 7:00 disgust) when he's not supposed to. Should of gone with someone like Steven Segal

  • @mjordan1998 but thats the whole reason they chose him he gains feeling by not taking his probium.

  • @mjordan1998 because you are so good at making movies; "GO MAKE ONE!!! AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH"

cool story bro, just sayin bro, umadbro?

  • he said he had the ability to feel and didnt know it, theres a different .I also believe that he didnt feel at the beginning but even if you had no emotion you can still rationalize consequences of ones actions. He didnt want to kill his partner, but will if had too. There so many sociopaths in the world like ted bundy and john w gacy, but because of the consequences of these actions keeps them from acting on them, but still feels no empathy for people, its the aspect of going to jail not remorse

  • @recklesshabitat

I know he wasn't feeling at the start of this movie. Someone said he was, but I'm sure he was not. The reason why he started feeling is because he accidentally dropped his morning dosage. Then he attempted to compensate for it by visiting the building that gives out the supply; but it was closed due to terrorist activity. So he had to go without the morning dosage; THUS, he began to feel.

  • 6 ppl are probium users like siad on the first pt :D

  • Reminds me of The Giver

  • Boom headshot..

  • I AGREE, THEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO LIVE IN SCANDINAVIA

  • I get what you're saying though. Christian Bale asked the question in a non-emotional way; while Sean Bean (name?) asked it in a emotional manner.

  • How does Christan Bale know that faggot had emotion in the car?

  • @FerrariSorry

you can see and hear it....

  • @Oblfreak

I don't get it, Christian Bale also changed the tone of his voice while under the drug. When Sean Bean said: It does? I don't get how that is implying he's emotional. Not like Christian Bale wasn't changing the tone of his voice under the drug jajajajajajajajaj. I know you can see it at the beginning of the movie, but while in the car Sean Bean doesn't seem to be acting "emotional."

  • @P0rtugueseRedM00n

Christiane Bale asked a question when he was under the psychosis of Prozium.

  • @FerrariSorry But Christiane Bale feels since the beginning of the film, that is explained at the end (when the "father" tells him that everything was a trap, and that he always felt, without knowing). He was feeling even under the effect of prozium, that's why he had such a good intuition.

  • @P0rtugueseRedM00n

This may be true, but I thought Christian Bale started feeling after he broke his Prozium morning interval. He went to the destination for refilling; but it was closed. He went on without it and started feeling then. He wasn't feeling at the beginning of the film.

  • @FerrariSorry Prozium had only some superficial effect on him (perhaps in memory) see, even here in this part 2, you can guess he had some kind of sensation (check at 2:15 ) and you can also see that after he killed his colegue that he gets affected (at 7:59 and so on)

  • @FerrariSorry sean's character questioned his own authority that's why

  • @Tsumefan2

    Yes, I see now!

  • @KurtsTwinSister faggot

  • @K0MBATICUS me? what did I do?

  • Why does Borimier always die in his films?

  • @DavidUmstattd His name is Sean Bean, and for the record, he didn't die in National Treasure. :P

  • A heavy cost, I pay it gladly

But I being poor, have only my dreams

I've spread my dreams under your feet

Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams

  • @jmccuen

I love this quote, but what is it from?

  • Moral anarchy is the way to go.

  • look at jurgensen he is there 0:43

  • The T symbol in the chamber is remarkably close to a crucifix - Coincidence? Also Prozium is remarkably similar to Prozac - Coincidence?

  • lol they have emotion in here, unless of course in the car, "Cleric" was just tired and didn't feel like talking, but the other guy, he was feeling sympathetic at 8:40 , you could see it in his eyes he felt kind of bad :/

  • @Kigorusan the black guy doesn t take the prozium though u see him at the end laughing and mocking the cleric with dupont in the office before the sword fight

  • im going down swinging.

nobody will ever take my bible from me. lol

  • 8:43

"I hope your as PLEASED to be assigned me as I AM the Replacement."

WTF, I wouldov shot that Black guy then and their.

  • i dont get why he smiled lol

  • Fim is inspired by real life. They have little filings so motivation speech is needed.Leaders saved their filings so they understand more.A lot of people have filings in secret.Generally its based on 3rd Reich where some culture and filings were denied and they trained elite of new humans without normal filings.Even children used to send their parents to the death. And prozium is based on prozac.Christian played years ago in film about very similar 3rd Reich but in this movie everything is more...

  • @RemekMM also looks like a muslims society

  • @661Sunshine Becouse every totalitarian country uses some similar sociological techniques...

  • @RemekMM ya pretty much lol

  • @661Sunshine hmmm that's not fair...muslims are very compassionate (other than the crazy ones you see on tv), generous people.

  • @dendara100 ever been in a muslim society? i have and i can tell you that it's very opressive and it is the reason why our family has moved out. we are not even aloud to express ourselves freely!

  • @661Sunshine i am a muslim, but i don't live in the middle east...middle eastern and asian countries tend to be readical for some reason... where i live, it's very relaxed, everyone is kind to everyone...i'm curious though, where did you live?

  • @dendara100 I lived in Iran 10 years ago with my family. I believe the situation has slightly improved with time, but there is still a lot to do...

  • @661Sunshine wow, iran is intense, i hear that from some people, as is the dead centre of middle east...but places like Morocco are quite liberated, they are improving slowly...

  • He smiled get him!

  • He smiled get him!

  • It does?

  • Prozium. Prozac. No difference.

  • lol no emotions they shouldnt of clapped

  • Sean Bean you are one fine specimen of a man.

  • Despite how many thumbs downs I'm gonna get, this totally answers the "why doesn't God end world hunger" or "why does God allow this" questions. If we were forced to believe in a God then there would be no point in us being created in his image.

  • @ 0:43 , the guy stands up rather quickly, showing agreement with the orator. Is this excited state however not an emotion? Of course it is...silly directors, the audience cannot be fooled

  • @lakid87 That guy is the leader of the rebellion lol

  • @ProfessionalGam3R but that doesn't change the fact that it's damn near impossible to create a film where the central plot requires "no emotion" like a sage -according to stoics...b/c there are natural instincts we possess that we call emotions, such as fear and excitement, biologically, its an increase in dopamine levels raising the heart rate, physically, we call them emotions...i tend to psycho analyze shit when im medicated (420)

  • @lakid87

Watch the movie again and try to figure who he is:-D.

  • @lakid87 If you watched the movie you find out that man is actually the leader or the resistance, aka he feels.

  • Can society even exist in this world?

If every human was emotionless than every human wouldn't care for the human race, and thus no one would cooperate or contribute to society.

  • at 2:13

    that statue holding the globe

i thought they were also supposed to destroy art like paintings and statues

doesn't that count as art, as feeling???? idk...

  • The message of the movie is quite clear isn't it? To live in a world without empathy, a war Republican's wage everyday against the idealists, a war where feelings are secondary to power.

  • Happiness is worth all the pain and suffering in the world. End of story.

  • sean bean dies at the beginning of every film he does

  • @Lateral0Thinking yeah, what's up with that?

  • @jukio02 : "people wont let it happen. unless... there is some apacolyspe event..." Search on YT and Google: EMP attack !

  • i wish i can create a dystopia, but instead of all the crazyness. it would be a happy place.

  • @jukio02 you mean a utopia? lol

  • @BrOoKiIeBaBeH actually i would rather have a dystopia, i change my mind

  • I don't think Libria is flawless, but it is workable. Not quite as bad as Oceania or USSR, even.

  • i prefer the idea of no emotion

  • Wouldn't be very hard to be an actor in this movie. You don't have to worry about your emotion or tone. Just monotone with a blank look on your face and you're good.

  • Ironic that during the entire movie, climactic, potentially emotion-inducing music is being played...

  • Does anyone know the name or style of the technique the guards are practicing?

I have taken some kickboxing and ju jit su but I really like those movements. Is it tai chi or kung fu? Anyone? Thanks.

  • @papasitoman it is called gun-kata.. mainly it is a technique invented by the producer and the choreographer of equilibrium ;)

  • If its illegal to feel then why with the whole load of emotionaly provoking propoganda and powerful, charismatic speeches ?

  • @ramenisgood4u even the most powerful empires in the past were hypocrits... it's all about control.

  • @ramenisgood4u ya. thats what i was thinkiing too. when they stood up and cheered, clapped hands, werent they feeling emotions there? maybe its certain emotions. cause ive notice they show some emotions in the movie. must have been the easist acting job they had so far

  • George Orwell and Karl Marx warned the world, If no one stands ups. Then theres no hope.

  • love this movie, but i do prefer to hav emotions and horrible wars than this :P

  • -I find it funny, that while society says and take drugs to have no emotion, they still do emotion like-things, getting married, having children, etc. But I suppose this could be that they have to reproduce. Never the less, still an epic movie. =)

  • did you all know that this movie was shot at the same cenario of RESIDENT EVIL (the first movie)?

  • Its fluoride.....lol

boy if this isn't already happening now just more and more micromanaging both the right and left taking away our basic freedoms and hijacked by major corporations with secret societies....

Peace be with you and God Bless

    -T-

  • @ALPHAandOMEGA44 are society is nothign like this, i dont think it will ever get to a point like this. people wont let it happen. unless... there is some apacolyspe event, and were force into these type of societies to survive. then maybe...

  • trust me when the faults of mankind fall on you, yould wish for no emotion. for the future of mankind a society of like this is perfect

  • @ hurleyOC

Yea cuz there was a world war 3 and not many people survived

And the ones that did survive blamed the war on human emotion cuz of like anger and sadness so now if they dont have emotions there wont be any wars ect.

  • i dont get it its illegal to have emotion??

  • well guess we have to choose

either be unhappy for all eternity

or live and enjoy our selfs till we destroy each other

    HARD CHOICE

  • @rosen00000 Its not a matter of being unhappy, because that istelf is an emotion. So you wouldnt be unhappy or happy.

  • And don't forget people, you can also buy your dose of prozium with the great taste of vanilla, chocolateand and others,at your local market. :-).

  • this movie was amazing, I don't think it got its proper credit

  • Ayn Rand would be proud.

  • they cud have found a better actor to play the bad guy, he wack......

  • this would not work. our whole life is full of all sorts of feelings. curiosity, happiness, etc. without these we would stop to marry, have children and move on/ develop new things

  • @Felidae08

In Serenity (a Joss Whedon movie), there was a planet where everyone was given calming drugs so that everyone would stop fighting, and they eventually stopped doing anything, so they just died of starvation.

  • I have only a couple of hangups in this movie. Sometimes someone looks like their having an emotion, but no one punishes them for it. Those guys clapping, wouldn't that count as excitement? They were even whistling. Other than the times when it looks and sounds like someone is speaking with emotion, my only other hangup is that they bleed smoke. Thats about it, other than that, this is probably my second favorite action movie, right behind The Dark Knight. Not the 2nd favorite movie, but still.

  • yeah right, lets kill everyone so we can have no war! no dissent for the government and so-called elites living it up elsewhere more like.

  • If the cost of living in an emotionless world is losing Sean Bean, then count me out.

  • Apparently gigantism and pomposity aren't emotionally inspired traits.

  • i've often pondered which world is better. a world with love, and hatred; with mercy and cruelty; with things like praise and insult, hope and despair, laughter and tears, and even the extremes such as pleasure and pain, healing and murder, marriage and rape, generosity and starvation. or a world without such things, a world of true peace but at the price of our humanity.

  • if only society was this wonderful

  • I prefer GTA : 9 than this boring shitless world

  • how could that black cleric "laugh" (sry, dont know the exact word in english to describe what he did) at 9:05 if he has no emotions?! o.O (sry for any bad english)

  • I kinda understand the whole plot

In the future all forms of feeling are illegal,

reminds me of communist china how all forms of democracy are illegal.

  • VALIUM + PROZAC = PROZIUM :))))

  • This is like a mixture of Orwells 1984 and Bradburys Fahrenheit 451!

  • Dammit I get so sick of Sean dying in films! It pisses me off!

He's is a stone cold FOX!! therefore he should not die in films. period.

  • @Katgirl1331 what kind of fox? a Firefox?

  • @killeroreo214 Your teasin' me right? Stone Cold FOX meant he's really sexy and I hate how he dies in many of his films

  • @killeroreo214 A Mozilla Firefox ;)

  • God, my mother LOOOOVES Sean Bean. I myself love Christian Bale!!! Great movie, has epic eye-candy for both of us. lol.

  • Rings of 1984

  • and the guy at 2:24 played in Red Line :D another good movie :X

  • the first guy that stands up at 0:44 played in Armageddon (1988) :D

  • haha its funny cause the guards look like daft punk

  • Sean Bean dies in a great many of the movies he's in.

  • Emotion is forbidden.

Which explains the motivational speech, complete with inspiring music.

  • @dirkson There is no emotion, there is peace.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

(There is no chaos, there is harmony.

There is no death, there is the Force.

It makes sense doesn't it? Almost like the Jedi Code but in a bad way!

  • @dirkson

It's called brainwashing and conditioning, the people need to be lied to and convinced that they truly don't feel emotions, it is oxymoronic on purpose to expose just how flawed that mentality and the means to carry it truly is.

  • everything these people are doing is rooted in emotion. if they felt nothing, they would just succumb to deathhh.

  • @surgerryy the drug obviously does not fully suppress emotion because some of the chemicals that cause emotion are required for normal function

  • First guy to stand up at 0:44 looks like the leader of the Underground.

  • @liveforHimalone it is

  • @liveforHimalone yeah thx for the spoiler

  • so cool!!!

  • Taye Diggs in the house! What is the betting this turns into a buddy comedy?!

  • the problem is that my dad was never good on or off zoloft. it didnt really matter, only so much u can take before u feel like ur going mad, when ur dad dies, then 2 weeks later u get laid off so that company can save less than a third of a point in stock, u lose over half ur income and u cry urself to sleep cause u realize that u cant provide for ur family anymore, and u pay all u have to send ur kids to a private school, im surprised he didnt kill himself.

  • fuck this movie i can't beleive some ppl would want to live like this reading the comments lol u guys are stupid.

look up Jacques Fresco if you wanna see a real way society should be done. architecture as well. the end.

  • Completely agree with you. War is never going to end, even if we complete cut ourselves from our emotions.

  • i can't wait till a drug like prozium exists. i'm going to take it everyday

  • @hereandnow6002

lol why. they already have shit like that dood, makes u commit suicide, have fun with that. it's called xoloft, and there are a bunch more just like it. look up the kevin underwood story, all pills are fucked man. dont' even eat tylenol if you were smart .

  • i had been on zoloft (it's not xoloft) for years on a high dosage and i didn't lose any of my emotions.

A person without emotions can think more logically and be more productive. Emotions just get in the way and complicate things.

  • @hereandnow6002

do you know about kevin underwood, and zoloft . ppl who take pills for anxiety and stress are pussies, i was diagnosed manic depressive, i dont take pills there are far better ways to deal with it.. ppl are just suckers for the pharmacy companies. seriously bro , glad you're off zoloft now.

  • @hereandnow6002

if we didn't have emotions say goodbye to creativity, music, inventions, seriously buddy you know nothing about the human brain. i've talked about this with my neurologist friend this morning. and dood, if we had no emotions we would be slaves . total slaves. no more human advancement.

  • only ppl who dont know or cant deal with their own selves decide to take drugs. U can be logical and more productive without eating chemicals

  • if you were to order to kill your own parents?! ...can you do that?!

  • How can this be a emotionless society if their flag has the Cross on it. Religion is full of passionate emotion.

  • The hell you talking about, it's a cross. Where does it say 'this cross relates to religion'

  • A T for tetragrammaton actually. not a cross literallly speaking; however it matches in shape to symbolize the religious, faith-like devotion demanded by the TG in this case and by many religions and other organizations or movements today

  • @Ambrosha385 Yep, granted on all counts. Still this is not enforced nor the focus of this movie at all.

  • @ShadowMk3 The fact that religion tries to control everything? But they also relate it to Hitler and the Nazi's

  • @SIDeltaSI Religion tries to control the evil of the human heart, the flesh, the mind ect.. Evil people follow religion, evil people often control religion, but then again evil people often control anything that is to be controlled. How does that sang go again? Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely? Religion, and "God" are hardly to blame, only ourselves and our nature, something that will never be controllable by our power alone.

  • its a movie. cant be perfect.

  • Christian Bale is HAWT in this movie <3

  • I prefer the faults of mankind than this. I would rather have life, with all its horrible ups and downs, than this. Its human determination, human emotions that made us the race that rose to stand above all others. However, I fucking love this movie, one thing that I do admire about this society, is its architecture. I mean come on, is that freaking epic or what?

  • AMEN TO THAT!

  • @Nights1re I believe it was human intellect which allowed humans to become the predominant and prevalent species on Earth; in any sense the subjective human aspect was more detrimental to the progression of humanity.

  • @Nights1re well thats the nazi world hu?

  • @elmreros Well if those buildings are as you said "the nazi world" then that doesnt change my view on them :P. I still think the buildings look cool. And yep, I still prefer the faults of humanity than being stripped of individualism.

  • @Nights1re i know dude nazis made awesome stuff!! i totally love my volkswagen and i totally like "freeways"!! haha so yeah i understand if u like those buildings

by the way i dont think humans rule the world... because humans have feelings and the ones who rule it seem to have none.

  • @elmreros That's not how the "Nazi's" built things, and if so what.It looks great,a mix of post-modernist technocartism and european functionality.

  • @Nights1re Awesome Architecture,I agree.Much better than the abysmal mess that is the brick, wood and stone used for construction in so called "modern areas"

I also agree that Human Emotion is a good thing, and sometimes too is conflict.I would rather sally to war and die than live in an eternal state of oppressed peace.

  • @Nights1re If someone tried to do this to Earth.... people would die off very quickly. Without human emotion there is no love... and without love... the race ceases to exist; no heirs.

  • @wkunzelman1 easy with ivf

  • @Nights1re

Yeah, kind of odd that their architecture inspires emotion.

  • @Nights1re ya, id have visions of my own, i wish i can design my own city like this

  • @Nights1re : I agree, an imperfect society is perhaps the price we pay for having the freedom to feel. Yet, there is beauty even in imperfection. Emotions are truly the flavours of life - without it, we're just a zombie world.

  • @GhostStanza yes but dont forget that emotions are also the seeds of death

  • @clipmaster30001 : Very true, and I agree with that. Emotions are irrational, sometimes for the better - yet sometimes for the worst. The scene where he saves the puppy was , at least to me, a symbol of the power of compassion. In other words being able to embrace emotion other than one's own. In that sense, I would like to believe that having the freedom to feel from both end of the spectrums is better than never feeling at all.

  • @GhostStanza i agree with you. emotion is not evil, and anger and hatred are not disease which cannot be controlled by psychology and medication. it is our personal responsibility to control our emotions to mak sure we don't cause any problems.

  • @GhostStanza It might seem like a silly comment but I can understand what you mean by the beauty of imperfection. I have a blue and gold macaw who has what is called a "rogue feather" on her tail. It looks more like hair than a feather. But it is what makes my Kellie unique and I love her for it :-)

  • @GhostStanza We have an imperfect society because society isn't taught how to communicate and how to handle emotions. I am an instructor of interpersonal communication, including how to handle emotions.

  • @arnicaherb Agreed. Emotions are fine but when you let them take over then thats when the wars and so on. :P

  • @GhostStanza Words of wisdom right there!

  • @Nights1re you say that now because youre not in an area of war or genocide. perhaps your view would change if your life was at risk?

  • @SKApocolypse :D Actually I have been privvy to quite a few deaths in front of me (and not just those that were on a hospital bed. ^.^) , and on top of that, have been homeless before for an extended period of time, forced to beat the crap out of people for my survival. While this is not the worst anyone has ever gone through, I have still kept that view. -shrugs- Shit happens. When you truly understand that statement, you sort of get through stuff easier.

  • @Nights1re fair enough. i like turtles

  • You know...in an odd way, this movie reminds me of Fahrenheit 51...where they burn the books and all other sources of idealism other than their own.

  • Government should be run by people who are best for the job. Not by where they come from/how much they earn.

Maybe if this was actually carried out, we would have a better run world.

  • the movie is about the underground,,

  • a little bagua in there? :o
