The idea of humans without emotion is impossible. I don't think anyone would find living worthy because they couldn't feel what's special about it. Why would you live when you don't hurt or enjoy? The idea of this makes me cringe.

@FerrariSorry Prozium had only some superficial effect on him (perhaps in memory) see, even here in this part 2, you can guess he had some kind of sensation (check at 2:15 ) and you can also see that after he killed his colegue that he gets affected (at 7:59 and so on)

In Serenity (a Joss Whedon movie), there was a planet where everyone was given calming drugs so that everyone would stop fighting, and they eventually stopped doing anything, so they just died of starvation.
I have only a couple of hangups in this movie. Sometimes someone looks like their having an emotion, but no one punishes them for it. Those guys clapping, wouldn't that count as excitement? They were even whistling. Other than the times when it looks and sounds like someone is speaking with emotion, my only other hangup is that they bleed smoke. Thats about it, other than that, this is probably my second favorite action movie, right behind The Dark Knight. Not the 2nd favorite movie, but still.

I have only a couple of hangups in this movie. Sometimes someone looks like their having an emotion, but no one punishes them for it. Those guys clapping, wouldn't that count as excitement? They were even whistling. Other than the times when it looks and sounds like someone is speaking with emotion, my only other hangup is that they bleed smoke. Thats about it, other than that, this is probably my second favorite action movie, right behind The Dark Knight. Not the 2nd favorite movie, but still.

the problem is that my dad was never good on or off zoloft. it didnt really matter, only so much u can take before u feel like ur going mad, when ur dad dies, then 2 weeks later u get laid off so that company can save less than a third of a point in stock, u lose over half ur income and u cry urself to sleep cause u realize that u cant provide for ur family anymore, and u pay all u have to send ur kids to a private school, im surprised he didnt kill himself.

i had been on zoloft (it's not xoloft) for years on a high dosage and i didn't lose any of my emotions.
A person without emotions can think more logically and be more productive. Emotions just get in the way and complicate things.

Evil people follow religion, evil people often control religion, but then again evil people often control anything that is to be controlled. How does that sang go again? I prefer the faults of mankind than this. I would rather have life, with all its horrible ups and downs, than this. Its human determination, human emotions that made us the race that rose to stand above all others. However, I fucking love this movie, one thing that I do admire about this society, is its architecture. I mean come on, is that freaking epic or what?

@clipmaster30001 : Very true, and I agree with that. Emotions are irrational, sometimes for the better - yet sometimes for the worst. The scene where he saves the puppy was , at least to me, a symbol of the power of compassion. In other words being able to embrace emotion other than one's own. In that sense, I would like to believe that having the freedom to feel from both end of the spectrums is better than never feeling at all.

@SKApocolypse :D Actually I have been privvy to quite a few deaths in front of me (and not just those that were on a hospital bed. ^.^) , and on top of that, have been homeless before for an extended period of time, forced to beat the crap out of people for my survival. While this is not the worst anyone has ever gone through, I have still kept that view. -shrugs- Shit happens. When you truly understand that statement, you sort of get through stuff easier.
