That is actually dumb of the pilots .. Not that much of responsibility what they have there. A storm like that should always be tried flying around. Well it looks like theres no way around a there so .. But still insane !!
that is 1 intense storm!!!!, i would love to see one like that here in adelaide!!!, no doubt we have them, but knowing when they are coming and being about to capture it is a different story... that storm doesn't even look real, or that its been sped up somewhat!!!. i know its reall, thats awesome!!
That's a pretty active cell. Most every Spring here in Oklahoma, we get pretty strong electrically active storm Cells much like that one with active LSPS that would induce an epileptic episode, it's absolutely ridiculous but it is also very, very beautiful. I've heard the stories of the massive storm systems you folks have over there in Australia that also share with ours that absolutely devastating "thunder blast" that seems only 100ft. up from the ground. Nature IS awe inspiring!
That is pretty insane, but lightning strikes airplanes every day and nothing bad happens....but still, i'd be writing my will and praying to god while downing numerous whiskeys!
OMG is it safe to be flying into that?!?! I would have seriously thought I was going to die if I was on board that plane. Never seen anything like this! Wow!
Me and my sister and parents were flying home to England from Toronto on Saturday and we flee through a lightening storm! We gad been in the air about 3/4/5 minutes and the air hostess said over the tannoy "the captain is switching the seatbelt sign on as we are approaching turbulence" even though the sign didn't come off! We didn't really get any turbulence due to it though. It was scary and close though all the same!
lightning is not a big deal for flying airplane. And as the plane will gain altitude, the storm will be underneath of the plane. so no big deal! pilots are well trained for that.
That plane is most likely about to land at the Brisbane airport, and that storm is most likely 100km past Moreton Island. Good view of the storm heading out to see though
wow what a beautiful storm...i bet it was a breathtaking view from inside the airplane, yet not as comfortable for the pilots to fly under such conditions...great clip
If there is a lighting then the airlines are cancelled and the plane can not go further. But it seems here that the storm is mild and the plane can go pass !
Awesome view for the passengers, but he was clear of it.They would never fly into that on purpose unless it was a military hurricane hunter.
