This works. If it doesn't work, here's some tips.

First of all, this usually only works on diamond/pearl

Secondly, instead of waiting 12 seconds, just wait for the timer to go around about 6-8 times.

Thirdly, search for something like Empoleon lvl. 9 and under or something like that.

Ok, so I was using the gts on platinum and when i traded a syther with a metal coat hoping someone else had a syther with a metal coat but no luck so I took it back, but when I got it backl it started evolving. I was like WOAH!!! So i realized that maybe it would work for others too, I gotta Machoke to evolve and thats about it. Someone help?

A way easy way to not get your pokemon taken is to put either Dialga/Palkia lv. 9 and under. the GTS wont accept those for trade or offer. You can also put a pokemon that for a pokemon that needs to be traded to evolve. once you do that, do a stupid trade like pichu for starly or something, just do a simple trade. After that go back to your offer and take back the pokemon, it should evolve after your pokemon is back. That's how I got Dusknoir, Tangrowth, Porygon-Z, and others.

This is a neat trick, but what's wrong with getting the Pokemon the normal way? It's not THAT hard, just requires some time and a bit of money...

even though this is blatently obvious, before you put up your pokemon for cloning, check that there isn't a trade already up. You do not want to lose an ev'd or shiny to a normal.

When you beat the Elite Four, Pal Park will be opened, and you can transfer Pokemon from your GBA games by inserting your GBA game in the dual slot and catching your Pokemon back in Pal Park.

Or you can just insert your GBA game after you've beat the Elite Four, and Pokemon from the old regions will start appearing.

I'm pretty sure that Nintendo doesn't let you trade a Dialga or Palkia at a level lower then 40 so a safe way to do this is to ask for a Dia/Pal at level 9 and under. Never lost a pokemon yet like this ^^ Just fyi : O
