I'm totally making the funky face right now. That face where you look like you just smelled thirteen bags of chit...That's where I'm at right now. It's ugly. That's what James'll do to you. Cause it's a mutha...
absolutely Timeless! when they listen to this 200 years from now, they will still be mesmerized by the arrangement and the incomparable skill of the musicians.... and the mastery of the Godfather of course!
Fucking James Brown. People will be listening to him in a hundred years, unlike Mozart. How many people do you know that listen to Morzart. a bunch of old folks.
James is as timeless as all of those. He is inFinity.
Hey, he was not a Republican. That's a myth. He was campaigning for Democrats in the 60's. Sure, he also campaigned for Republicans in the 70's - but as he said, he never endorsed a party, he just endorsed particular candidates.
@IkeDyson71 A long time ago I heard some conservative talk show guy say that James Brown was a Republican. I forget now who that radio guy was. I do know tho that those guys get a lot of facts wrong. So I am happy to hear from you that James Brown was never actually a registered Republican. That does make me feel better.
But I still feel bad that James Brown was a wife beater. Is that a myth too?
No - I doubt that the "wife beating" was a myth. Too many of his women have claimed he hit them.
On my video, "JAMES BROWN Soul Brother Number One", you can see him campaigning for Democrat Hubert Humphrey in the 1968 election. Then, in 1972, he campaigned for Nixon, because Nixon had called a lot of Black leaders into the White House to talk about "Black capitalism" - although that's not in the video, though...
James Brown died of pneumonia, but I wonder if really he died from a broken heart. I know his reputation as a positive role model and positive force in society really meant a great deal to him. And he said he felt really bad about his reputation being hurt by the prison time he did late in life. And also there were the allegations of him hitting his women. One woman even said he seriously threatened to kill her. Maybe all of that broke his heart.
Well, we couldn't know for sure, but there could be some truth in what you suggest. His wife (the one he really loved), died in surgery whilst haveing more cosmetic stuff done to her body, in 1996. His eldest son died in a car crash back in 1973. It all takes its toll.
But, personally, I think catching pneumonia at age 73 is what done it. Travelling to so many couintries around the world for all those years, you're going to ctach something at some time...!
Is this the extended version? Funk. Like a kick in the ass. Like a Stubblefield riff. Like a girl. Like lovemaking. Like dancing on a Soul TRain line. Like..living.
BADDDD!!!!!THERE WILL NEVER EVER BE ANOTHER HE IS THE INNOVATOR THE CREATOR OF THE FUNK LONG LIVE THE GODFATHER. THE ORIGINAL RAPPER!!!
ITS IN MY COLLAR AINT IT FUNKY YES SIRRRR!!!!!!!THIS BRINGS BACK SWEET SWEET MEMORIES OF MY DADDY AND MOMMY WHO ARE NOW BOTH IN HEAVEN WITH JAMES!!! KEEP IT TIGHT UNTIL I GET THERE!!!PEACE!!!

@RynoZ Once upon a time it was only hip hop but that's extended to almost every genre of music. Usually these days played at 10,000rpm lol
