  • Aww the pug in this looks like my brindle pug cross :)

  • What a goof on extravagance!

  • I hope the dogs scratch their eyes out.

  • I have a chihuahua. The shelter only gave me to me because I'm a dog trainer. He had separation anxiety, food reactive, dog reactive, child reactive, special dietary needs(I make his food myself), & was a classic example of what happens when people buy a dog without understanding that they aren't toys and can't be thrown away. Chihuahuas can be wonderful dogs. But you have to treat them like DOGS. How hard is that? If you are ignorant, you can learn. Start with Jean Donaldson's Culture Clash.

  • Girl in the leopardskin dress has cracking legs.

  • that is soooo funny but if that was true cruel watch awesome doggies thanks this video was made by my daughter she has cancer and she wishes to make it viral

  • that is soooo funny but if that was true cruel watch awesome doggies thanks

  • DOGGIES! SO CUTE! :D

I don't think they like those headbands in stuff though :(

  • This film was intended to be distributed virally online and was not shown on TV :-)

  • DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THIS WAS SHOWN ON TV? :)

  • tat's so funny!!

  • ohh....so this is where Paris Hilton gets them

  • stupid and offensive. Pet is a friend, not an accessory.

  • @cellchild well your not a nice guy or girl

  • if you guys look in the end it says "not just for christmas"

and by the way i love it

  • please ADOPT a DOG and please NEVER buy.

  • @MsYappyDog This video is ridiculing the very stupid women you're talking about, dontchathink?

  • I think this is mean

  • I love, how Harvey Nichols have made this, it sure cheered me up, because i've seen people like this in HN stores, and I shop in HN.. ALOT. It's just a bit of fun for christmas. Cheer the fuck up everyone. It even says in the video discription, Dogs Trust wasn't involved. BUT, they support it. Is that not enough for you whinging arses who think nearly EVERYTHING to do with animals is cruelty? Get a grip. .. But on the upside, Well Done HN, This sure cheered me up :)

  • yes, it's tongue in cheek, yes, it's mildly amusing. The problem is that there are very very stupid women who shop at places like Harvey Nicks who think dogs are accessories. Paris Hilton, anyone?? It might be humourous but it's extremely irresponsible. Go be a volunteer at Dogs Trust and then tell me "get a life, it's christmas". Abandoned dogs who are put down in their hundreds every week is not something to smile about. Bet HN didn't put any money in the Dogs Trust coffers, did it?

  • The advert does say "Not Just For Christmas" - Claming that this encourages people to buy pooches as purses is like saying the RSPCC advert encourages the beating of children. Where is the Christmas spirit...and a sense of humour?!

  • some people think that animals are just accessories... these people just have a brain to walk to the shoppings...

  • i want a dog! :D

  • cute dogs

  • Well I cant find any on the website?? :( What kind of business is this!! False Advertising! I wanted a pug in blue :( You've killed my 58 secs of actual hope for a happy Christmas!

  • I don't know what's made me smile more the advert, or the tripe people write about it being cruel and the wrong message etc... firstly.. if you have ever seen a filmshoot involving animals.. if you have not..don;t comment.. because the first and only issue is the safety and comfort of them all, and if the vet or animal officer's say no.. they don't get to be filmed.

So get a sense of humour, put the Dail Mail down, and loosen your knickers... it's xmas..

wonder if they come in blue????...lol

  • They aren't selling them on the website ;(

  • The people who take this seriously are just thick.

Funny to see HN having a dig at the kind of people portrayed in the ad when those same people are part of their consumer base. Good for them.

  • Is it just me or is this ad’s message saying... "Harvey Nichols, our customers are narcissistic one-dimensional twats"...?

  • Cute dogs; but i dont like the advert :/

  • People need to stop taking this stuff too seriously. That being said what a stupid advert and the firm that did this ad should never be hired again.

  • Why are some people calling this animal cruelty??? If anything its promoting people to look after their dogs by saying they are not just for christmas.

You people really need to get a sense of humour....maybe harvey nichols sell them :)

  • I just clicked on the video because I saw the pug xD

  • Just waiting for the animal abuse comments to roooll by.

  • Hmm.. Looks expensive. Think I'll just stick to Asda (':

  • @petujaymz why is she on a computer. she should be in the kittchen

  • I love the message your getting across which is then made pretty obvious by the end of the advert but omg i want to shoot the person who came up with this idea for an advert in the face. Arrrrggghh!! Dogs should not be in bags!

  • I love this advert so much, cute little dogs and a good message for potential dog owners at the end (in a roundabout way) x

  • this is quite cruel.. but its also showing how dogs are great..

  • Ppl need to chill out and get a sense of humour ! It's obviously a play on the slogan ! The dogs wouldn't have done it if they didn't want to and vets were consulted and the dogs trust also DID Get money from this advertising campaign . So hush ya selves!

  • Lets see what we have here... A HELL OF A LOT OF MORONS THAT NEED TO SHUT UP ... this advert is what we normal's call a 'JOKE' it supposed to be humerous and stupid! Nobody is actually going to try and wrap up a dog!!! Furthermore, its not animal abuse to train a dog to sit on command and wear some antlers! Its just a fricken ADVERT!

  • I have 3 dogs, one of which is a rescue and actively support campaigns against puppy farms and pet shop puppy sales. However, I haven't lost my sense of humour or grip on reality. The idea that even the dimmest chav half-wit might rush out to buy a dog purely on the strength of seeing this tongue in cheek ad is even more ludicrous than the humans depicted in it. As to suggestions of cruelty, does anyone seriously suggest the dogs taking part were beaten into submission?

  • @Treworga WELL SAID

  • I find it so funny how angry you all are. You can’t force a dog to do something a vet and the owner haven’t agreed to. So be careful whom you’re calling cruel. Plus surely it brings attention to the Dog Trust slogan, which is good right? Tis the season to be merry and this has made me so. ☺

  • Disgusting, Never going to shop there again that's for sure. Only a trash store could suggest dogs as accessories, Anyone with a nice big dog (Mastiff, Rottie) bring it along and let it lift its leg in the store!

  • @DogDayDreams Really, you're never going to shop there again? better cut out most food chains, most high-street fashion retailers & most sports brands too - as they are cruel to animals FOR REAL and cruel to people FOR REAL. The dogs in this vid are very obviously well cared for little pups, and if you want to get upset over them being in bags go tell Paris Hilton.

  • @comesoutinthewash

Yeah like Mary Bale put a cat in a bin and said 'it's only a cat' Same mentality

  • How much did they pay DDB UK for coming up with that, I wonder? However much it was, they should now match it with a donation to Dogs Trust, together with a grovelling apology for bastardising the sentiment behind their "Not just for Christmas" slogan.

Plagiarism aside, the theme of this irresponsible advert does nothing to enhance Harvey Nichols' reputation.

  • a day in the life of paris hilton and probably some hollywood peeps

  • PETS ARE NOT TOYS!!!

  • @wojtekpapuzinski Exactly.

  • Hahah!! Wonderful. Brightened up my morning.

    (from a dog lover, btw)

  • Extremist, that is a joke, I eat meat and live on a smallholding. I have just had lots of experience with unwanted animals through stupid people seeing things like this whch inturn encourages them to buy the animal. Seen it and got a t shirt. Get real to what is happening.

  • Great advert and it gives a positive message that dogs are not just for Xmas . So all you politically correct losers , get a life !

Well done Harvey nicks , we shop there and STILL will

  • PETA would be thrilled.

ANIMALS ARE NOT FASHION ACCESSORIES YOU TWITS.

  • @ChiliPeppz It's meant to be humorous. Lighten up. But, just in case you're unfamiliar with the concept, wikipedia does feature a nice and informative article on jokes.

  • @limitedrapture I see. In that case someone should stuff you in a small bag, and fasten it tightly around your neck so your head is protruding out while the rest of your body is constricted. Oh and just for the laughs, how 'bout we record it too, then everyone can look at you and share in the lols. Moron.

  • @ChiliPeppz Well see, now if I were as big of a douchebag as you, I'd take your comment literally and be forced to point out just how unlikely it is to even fit me into a small bag.

    Get over yourself.

  • @limitedrapture If you can't contruct an intelligent response then it's best to just keep quiet. Calling names? Really? Oh and sorry, I assumed you'd at least be able to understand that I was referring to the bag being small relative to your body size. Aren't you clever.

  • @ChiliPeppz Excuse me? You called presumably everyone that enjoys this video a twit, then you call me a moron but you have the audacity to berate me calling you a douchebag?

You're either schizophrenic or of such a low level of intelligence that you clearly can't even remember what you've said in your own arguments. Either way, its sort of wrong to keep arguing with you, so at this point I'll just let you go on your merry way. Enjoy your uptight misguided hate train and have a merry Christmas.

  • @limitedrapture I stand by what I said about people who find this kind of rubbish amusing, however you called me a douchebag for having morals and caring about living creatures. Perhaps your new years resolution could be to start thinking about the way animals are treated. Dogs don't belong in hand bags - not even for a joke.

  • @ChiliPeppz Thats sounds alot like a sleeping bag situation!

  • I wouldn't let it ruin your day y'know

  • great vid totally put me in the xmas spirit - thanks Harvey Nic's

  • some people take this waaaaayyy too seriously.

  • @butchbabies nothing wrong with the care shown to the dogs in the clip, its the daft people that buy them, then dump them on charities, thats if they survive the canel

  • You lot need to take a chill pill.

    It's wicked.

    x

  • Dogs are meant to be your pal not a FASHION accesory!

  • Comment removed

  • @pigman61 Are you serious!? Anyone can tell they're not being serious - LOL funny and obviously taking the mick out of Paris Hilton etc. Well done Harvey Nics! I for one will be shopping with you again along with everyone else who can take a joke.

  • Comment removed

  • @GimmeHopeCapello oh I am very serious, I know from evidence that these sort of promotions and marketing lead to the increase in unwanted animals. That is not me talking that is hard fact, the micro pig trade or instance. Animals even in fun should not be used as a marketing tool, because some people are stupid enough to be taken in by it. Ask the sanctuaries, so I think HN are wrong in using live animals to promote their clothes even in jest

  • @pigman61 See, you might be an uptight extremist, but at least you understand that it was a joke.
