It was heartbreakin: A great gig but the whole band was in tears because Alan Thompson had learned his mother had died about half an hour before showtime.
JM wanted to pull the the gig but Alan insisted that they played.
We all ended up in the Philharmonic pub with JM holding court, magic and tragic.
