  • anybody want to debate the advantage of streamlining, the same body [ A Varna design]with Sam Whittinghton ? went 82 mph at Battle mountain,Nevada. So can you imagine a purpose built motorcycle, with full body, doors.Done right, streamlining can double the mileage and or range of electric's.They banned streamlining in racing, because they were going too fast and the technology in brakes, handling were not to be.

  • wait is that CAR?(1st time is see it)

  • "World record bicycle sprinting speeds currently around 90 miles per hour."

in 2006 maybe but in 2008:

The world speed record for human-powered vehicles was set by Sam Whittingham on a fully faired recumbent bicycle on September 18, 2008 with a speed of 132.5 km/h (82.33 mph)

  • @SyntaxTerr0r oops i'm stupid, i read kph in place of mph ':)

  • make mine a convertible!

  • This is no longer the World's Fastest Bicycle

    .

91.5 km is now the record for 1 hour from a standing start

  • First of all. It is not a bicycle. Bicycles have no windscreens, no body, etc. It is just other vehicle powered by human muscles. And how this stops on a red light? The same as a kayak with sail is not a kayak.

  • @ DupczacyBawol

    In my dictionary a bicycle

    is

"vehicle with 2 wheels, one in front of the other pedalled by rider"

  • One-Hour World Record - Francesco Russo & Eiviestretto (by Damjan Zabovnik)

    @ watch?v=jKrx77pNcHc

    is worth watching

    .

At Dekra Test Oval, Klettwitz, Germany, 2nd August 2011. Francesco Russo set a new one-hour world record with human powered vehicle, named Eiviestretto. He covered 91.556 kilometers.

  • who thinks that that is bicycle, he is fuckin stupid!

  • thats not a bike thats a ground jet liers!!!!

  • do you need a license?

  • @RhysonXbox

    no it'a a bike ;)

  • @SeanCopyright i think it was a joke

  • thats not a bike

  • @lovesvag69 It is pedal-powered and has two wheels. By definition, that is a bicycle.

  • kind of looks like a dick :o

  • thats how fast i go on a avrage day

  • World landspeed recordholder Fred Rompelberg (268 km/h on a bicycle!)

  • wtf?!

  • @upcycle true

  • no its the worlds fastest gigantic tampon

  • take note the fastest bycycler hit 162mph

  • @dade356 Yes but it wasnt really the bike it was drafting behind a car.

  • It's the worlds fastest SHOE

  • I have a Mini 40 Mile Busettii bike and it runs 50-55 miles on one battery charge. I also tried my friends Vortex Mountain bike by Busettii. It ROCKS ! Can get up to 32 mph top speed, and on one charge that bike set the new record of 86 miles. Hope it becomes a big hit. In California many people like Busettii because they cost around $1700 but can go 50--86 miles on one charge depending on model. Maria in Cali

  • @maria271011 That's awesome! I would like to know more about your bikes. You have any videos of them, pictures, or other info? please post/share. thanks,

  • wtf.. what is this thing? Is it a bicycle on the inside and someone is pedaling it? wth man.. thats got my mind all twisted lol

  • @JameZCody its a two-wheeled recumbent (something like a catrike musashi) with a fairing over both bike and rider

  • I want to chase a recumbent bike with my roadie

  • they shud put wheels that come down on the sides to steady when he apply brakes, not a instant brakes just a slow down, then at least he woldent need to use the wind to stop.

  • LIVING PROOF THAT RECUMBENTS ARE THE BEST TYPE OF BICYCLES

  • @nick408sjf except for going up hills.

  • and I thought the world record for HPV is 130km/h....

  • @aphididae depends on the category it is.

  • There's a car following that motorcycle to film it ..... and it's going faster than it

  • The 81 mph speed was through a 200-meter timing trap after a 3-mile run-up, on a straight (closed) road at relatively high altitude. The 58 mph speed is the world 1-hour record. Really different feats!

  • acually the fastest was 81mph

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • BMX ??

  • how is this a bicycle?

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • @Theshamham how is it not? it has 2 wheels.

  • @Theshamham It has 2 wheels and he's peddling. What else do you need?

  • If the bike had breaks then the cyclist would use the breaks right?

but if the person braked then bang there gonna brake a bone because all the weight being draged behind would fling up and fowards at the same time so it fould flip over and the bike will break and u will brake

  • since most commutes are 20miles or less

this would be perfect in our freeways

it would ease traffic and cure rampant obesity and $ave billion$ not buying oil

but first we must ban cars !

  • please view the world's simplest transmission for bicycle.

Watch : UNIQUE BIKE CRANK ( 2- SPEED)

  • It must be really hard to start it alone hhee..

  • How?

  • If you put a Schubeler ducted fan on the back of one of these you could go to work in it and not even break a sweat. google shredair fan

  • The crew crashes and he must continue peddling forever.

  • @TUBEORATER nah.. he cud just stop peddling and coast, as friction on the wheels and from air resistance continue to slow him down. Then he can find something soft to brush into or just gently lay it down when he is down to about 1 or 2 miles per hour., in this case probably plenty slopes with leafy bushes to brush into.

  • @upcycle From 80 miles an hour, that's very hard to do, they took out all break gear to slow down resistance, but in the recreational version of these, there is "landing gear".

  • @TUBEORATER L M F A O! ahahaahahaha

  • this is what the olympic bicycle should look like

  • @neverbackdown827 Thats an interesting comment, and you have a point. This type of bicycle is illegal in velodrome racing, and genera bike racing.

  • Уебаны

  • looks funny^^

  • In a word, AWESOME, that a bicycle can achieve those speeds, Great vid TY!

  • got ot put motor on that and go even faster lol

  • Officially, Fred Markham went 53.4 miles in One Hour, not 58 miles as this video says. His distance was a world record in 2006. Its since been beaten 4 times in the past several years by both Damjan Zabovnik (54.4 miles) and Sam Whittingham (56.3 miles)

  • Hahahahahaha wtf is that...If a traffic light is red what is he gonna do...??? Pray...???

  • i wounder if lance armstrong will ride that bike....

    ahahaha

  • so if i made one of these and paddled down the high way, will the police fine me?

  • well, do vehicles going down the hwy require a licence plate and vehicle registration? On some hwy's in the USA it is required.

  • @upcycle I believe its Federal Law that NO Civilians, (Hitchhikers) Mopeds,Bicycles etcare Allowed on the Main Highways.

  • @855h0le depends on the highway, out west, this isn't the case

  • @iraqifreak No . If you are paddling down the road the Navy may pull you over . If you were peddling over the speed limit you could be fined by the police .

  • @iraqifreak probably, like that episode of CHIPS where a wind sailer gets on the state highway and gets pulled over.

  • @iraqifreak Speaking from experience YES! I have my ticket mounted and framed. In Japan a man built a bike of carbon fiber and et al. Doing about 100 mph down Mt. Fugi he hit a rock and his bike broke into a thousand pieces and he skidded about 100 ft. I bought a big sproket for my front (60 teeth I think) and the smallist for the back (12 teeth) Pettling looked like slow motion and couldn't start off in first gear. Have fun!!!!!

  • Do you want to see THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for Bicycle?

Watch: UNIQUE BIKE CRANK ( 2- SPEED)

  • so how does he stop?

  • usually they have no on board brakes... to stop, they stop peddling and slow down with wind resistance... and when they are at about 5-10 mph some crew on foot will grab the bike and stop it. Also note that the bike will be kept upright by crew when stopped. And crew mus remove shell opening from outside.

  • @upcycle If there are no brakes on this bike, that is pure stupidity. A brake and level adds about 4 oz to the weight of the bike, and you never know what might end up in front of you. Riding 50mph+ into a deer or dead bird with no brakes would qualify the rider tor the Darwin award.

  • @wuhlei fall is the only way unless he ll find a narrow gap between to cars....hahhahahaha

  • @SOTIRIS7777 The next invention will be a round rubber seat so he can roll out while its moving. lol

  • @wuhlei with his brakes.

  • agagaagagagaggagaagagga

    bs

    p.s that is bullshit

  • @GordonFreemanism Its real just not practical.

  • OMG my stomach is hurting im laughing that hard LMAO! LOL xD

  • i honestly did 80kmh on my 10 speed racer about 20yrs ago holding onto my mates utility was the scarey thing..this thing didnt look that stable either ..SHHHHITTTT!!!!!

  • if Americans call Petrol Gas , what to they call Gas then, Gas here in Australian is LPG which is liquid petroleum gas. Whats the record for a conventional Bike I thought it was only around 40 MPH,

I don't beleive anyone has exceeded these speeds yet.

  • if Americans call Petrol Gas , what to they call Gas then, Gas here in Australian is LPG which is liquid petroleum gas

  • It's actually gasoline not gas though that is used as a short form of the name. A little misleading as gasoline is definitely liquid.

  • A fanny here in the UK is not what you guys call it in the States!....

  • @ESCAPEDCONVICT01....Why do you call cigarettes "fags"?

  • @j brooks 111.... why do people people call not eating 'fasting' if the day goes by so sloow?

  • good one...

  • look up the history of the word "faggot" only recently it means gays

  • I was not talking about FAGGOT....I did mean fag as a cigarette without the reference to homosexuality. I will look up the history, but wanted to just throw something out there for discussion. In reference to the GAS as apposed to PETROL comment.Who knows why we Americans call it that. 

  • I assume after this ride his balls were sore for 1 week :)

  • @schl0tte Why? Because of the tight fit in the cabin, or from the seat? Don't they use bench seats?

  • @schl0tte it's a recumbent bike, no pressure there...

  • @schl0tte they don't sit on a bike seat its almost like sitting in a ferrie seat

  • @schl0tte no, unlike uright diamond frame bikes, on recumbent bike you dont sit on your balls.

  • @schl0tte He rubbed his balls vigorously with slick 50 before embarking on his voyage.

  • @schl0tte he must have no balls :))

  • He cant stop or he will fall over. he needs help!

  • You call that a bicycle?

Looks like a yeti shoe to me?

  • @RobertsDigital

    yeti shoe. LOL!

  • I wonder could the bicyclist use a shot of adrenaline through an IV the same way you use nitrous in a car....

  • it would be a similar effect i guess...but more like running a shot of nitrous on a rusty civic from the 70s. people cant handle a lot of adrenaline for more than a few minutes without getting screwed up.

  • first i was like.. "uhm.. thats not fast.. "

and then.. " oh crap, theres only human power in there!! " o.O

  • It just shows you the importance of good aerodynamics and a bloody strong cyclist. It would have been great to have seen a live speedo (MPH) on the screen. An amazing effort all the same.

  • people had to stop him and get him out

  • ive seen videos of bikes like these. they have brakes. they stop at a designated place, where people hold it up while they remove the tape. (they use tape to seal the seam between the base and the top part)

  • [SwissNYCkelz]

"I would rather eat my wheaties and think about riding that death trap figure it's 100% styrofoam..."

Carbon fiber, maybe a little Kevlar. Styrofoam is too heavy.

Riding in one of these is like pedaling an armored bullet. If you fall, it just slides while you sit inside and rest up. It might not even hurt the bike any.

  • it would scratch the paint if you fell o.O. dont worry, whoever said he wouldnt wanna ride it is probly a SUV owner.

  • i drive a pickup and id love to ride this thing, but i drive a pickup for a reason, i work on a farm in NE in the summer, pull haul and drive through thick clay mud that no car would ever make it through, and live in wyoming in the winter and cars dont do well in 2 ft of snow, but the suburban bitches that drive suvs need their heads pulled out of their asses, they dont need it and theyre giving the rest of us that do a bad rep

  • very true. i see nothing wrong with driving a truck/suv if you need it, even if that need is merely frequent towing, tho a lot of sedans could handle most common towing jobs. but yeah, the 'suburban bitches' that buy fatass SUVs to be 'safe' should go get run over by one of them, and see how they like it.

  • yea a sedan is not going to handle the towing jobs i use my truck for, or the roads. I tow 15000 lb fertlizer trailers during planting season and haul 5000 lb pesticide bulks in the back while spraying chemicals. Damn snobby stuck up bitches, hell a good sedan is just as safe as a suv and since they dont know how to drive one anyway, and since they have a high cg the dumb bitches roll em.

  • well yeah, you seem to really need a truck. but theres people that use one to tow a sub 1000lb boat...you really dont need a chevy tahoe for that. btw, do you have a gas or diesel truck?

  • gasser, im lookin for a diesel, way WAY more efficient than gas but then id have to plug it in all the time in the winter and starting it would be a bitch in the -20 weather we get here

  • well, ok, that makes sense. i kinda have a theory that people that get gas trucks/suvs get them for show, since diesels r better for those purposes, but i guess diesel is kindof a pain as far as cold starts go.

  • and really really expensive, around here people get diesels for show, wyotechs main campus is here so they like to blow black smoke all over town

  • oh, ok. so i guess my generalization doesnt work...damn.

  • most places have gassers to show off, but like i said i live in the town of the best diesel school in the nation, so they like their diesels

  • yeah, diesels seem to have every advantage for truck purposes, except for cold starts. i know they make some diesels with spark plugs used for cold starts. sounds like a good idea to me. it works like any other diesel when its warm, but it should start with no problem in cold weather too.

  • yea that would be nice, glow plugs work but you still have to plug your block heater in when it gets too cold, definantly have an advantage, as long as they have the right injectors turbos intakes and exhaust, the guys around here push too much diesel through which gives more power but also wastes a ton of diesel and blows it out the exhaust and comes out it a cloud of black smoke, cat makes an extremely efficient diesel called the acert series, check it out

  • huh, so they run it really rich? people do that with gas engines too. and i didnt know cat made small engines...thought they were only into the massive stuff. but im more into smaller cars myself. got no need for a truck. only reason i care is cuz i kinda like anything with wheels.

  • cat runs them in their ag tractors heavy machinery and semi trucks, dont think they have any for pickups, they make some pretty small ones for their ag tractors but their ag ones go up to somewhere around 600 horse, im in mech eng so i like anything with wheels too

  • why the hell do people keep calling PETROL gas?!

  • @ESCAPEDCONVICT01 because its gasoline, which is a refined petrolium product

  • why do you only have shit 95ron petrol in the usa?

  • @montg2perfection yep 91 octane gasoline at the pump is the highest, you can order whatever race fuel you want but its gonna cost an arm and a leg, we have 85,87 and 91 octane gas plus ethanol blends

  • i use 99ron, shell v-power, its a bit more expensive but its good

  • @montg2perfection i run 87 unless im pulling then ill fill up with 91 and reset my tuning, i dont waste my money on shells gimmicks

  • because we live in America...we think petrol is just as odd

  • Gas is made from petroleum.

  • that looks cool to ride but once you hit a crask you can get injuerd fast

  • No, the frame of this shell should let you skid to a (relatively) safe stop

  • its probaly going down hill

  • So?

  • probably not. 58 for an hour is reasonable. the land speed record for a human powered vehicle is above 80mph.

  • @holeshotholm417 well it isn't, wouldn't count as a world record if it was

  • it could be downhill, but like nolanpoepoe, the record is 84mph or so, i believe, and they had to find a road with less than 1% slope, which means pretty darn close to flat. so i dont see y they couldnt do 58 on a flat one too.

  • UDO. (unidentified driving object)

  • hahahha

  • Das Bike wird noch schneller wenn die Oberfläche so Dellen hat wie ein Golfball. Die Dellen bilden Luftwirbel und die erzeugen nicht so einen Luftwiderstand! (it´s germany) ^^

  • I want one!

  • Eso no es una bicicleta,; el record de velocidad de Eddy merch lo consiguio con una bicicleta de carreras normal y solo han conseguido batirlo por 10 metros despues de tantos años

  • I did 200 km/hr on my bike, but the sudden stop at the bottom of the cliff pissed me off a bit.

  • haha thats so fkn ugly

  • its purpose built... not built for style but built for aerodynamics and speed... alot of engineering isnt pretty either but it serves its purpose... thats the point of it

  • 53.75 what? miles? mph? km?

  • i would poo myself

  • Thats right he is peddling and it is a recumbent bicycle, of course at the extreme end with a top class rider. Probably 5 gears starting at a bout 110 inches. For more on this kind of world records check out "worlds fastest bicycle, battle mnt.

  • You're so stupid.............

  • no shit , cowboy ?

  • ummm so how doez it stops with out tipping over? o_O

  • i think wen the speed gets low the rider can release to little stabilizing wheels from the side :)

  • training wheels?

  • hahaha

  • no that would create drag so theres no point

  • no that would create drag so theres no point

  • If you hit something.....your DONEEE! no training wheels or anything.....you loose control, you loose the bike

  • but all you do is slide on the shell till it stops. Maybe the shell will heat up but you can shift your weight off the hot spot.

  • Amaziing how great these bikes are when you consider the record set recently by Chris Boardman on a racing bike was just 30mph.

  • but Boardman's was a bike, I define these as human powered speed machines. Steering ability is several inches, very delicate on one as fast as this, and if you fall, end of bike.

  • is that even a bike

  • brakes?

  • that looks more like a high tech supercar

  • what happens when you have to stop??

  • sum1 has to catch ya ;P

  • on the front there is a toilet in it^^ and the back a mini bar.

  • I'd love to see the interior and how it works...great stuff :)

  • this doesn't look like a bicycle!!! I think it is motorcycle lol!!

  • It have two wheels and is fully human powered thus it is a bicycle.

  • I know man but how would u know if there is something that makes that bicycle faster than the regular one, cuzz it is soo fast and that is impossible lol!!
