@jayrod2 We've heard that flowmasters arent the best flowing muffler out there, but that doesnt matter when you get the awesome sound the flows produce. This car isnt raced, so switching mufflers just to get a few extra horses isnt worth the hassle, or worth blowing the money we the people dont have these days...
that thing doesnt lope as much as I thought it would for how big that cam is, but then again flowmasters drown out a lot of the tin-y lope sound that you get with a big street cam.
Nicely done!
I'm putting a Howards solid cam in my 466 Ford. 244/254 @ .050" 294/304 total and .588/.605 lift on a 112 lobe. Rpm range 2400-6200.
Thats a big jump from the 219/227 @ .050 262/268 total .540/.554 lift HFT cam thats in my 390 right now. But a welcome jump nonetheless...
The car has never been to the track.... Some day im sure it will see the track but only an 1/8th mile at a time...... Thats all we have close by is an 1/8th mile track :(
Thank you, my father painted this car about 15 years ago before he sold it to his good friend Don and it still has that show quality finish.. The camsaft is about PERFECT for the street with this particular combo. and he loves it.. I am building a 4 speed 71 SS nova for myself and will be running a solid/flat tappet 275 @ .050" .580/.580 lift cam in my 10.5:1 360ci sbc w/ ported iron bowtie heads, 1.5 rollers, super victor intake, race prepped holley 750, complete MSD etc. should be sweet
Im sorry i do not know the vacuum reading.. however I believe your 750 will be fine.. i did an intake swap( from an iron bowtie to a super victor) on a pulling truck with a 383 that dyno'd at 545HP(with the iron bowtie intake) with a holley 750 HP series carb.. id say he probably gained another 10-15 after the intake swap
Arent the Flowmaster 40's terrible flowing mufflers? Esp. for an engine of that caliber?

I noticed that you added the SS 396 badges to the front fenders and grille. Why not at the back?

Do you know the vacuum reading @ 499hp/6300 rpm? I'm just wondering how the 750cfm Holley handles that hp.
I'm building very similar sbc stroker with AFR heads and solid roller cam etc. And I'm wondering if my 750cfm Holley is enough to support that 500hp.

28 spline axles don't like 500 hp. Be careful with that beast.
