Great exercise for beginners who can't do full pull ups and want to increase their strength and also for advance people to overload at the end of their normal set. The egotistical negative comments left on this page are left from sad people who don't realise that the eccentric phase of an exercise is actually when you are building muslce anyway so they should be included in your workout.
i allways try to do pullups coz i hear it's great with detailing the back, and right now im tryna add detail, but i cant do them, i get like 8 reps and im fucked, with just my bodyweight!
Good video; I think even an advanced person could do well with these, perhaps adding weights or lenghtening the descent time, such that they clhallenge their muscles.
Nirose9 some people have got to start somewhere!? Negatives or Thunderbirds are a pretty decent starting point - don't you reckon? Certainly helped me so thought I'd post it for non-bar experts not like yourself!
Hey i Dont know if you read this but Im trying too improve my pulls up to 20 im hitting 10-11 as of now im training to be a marine officer and need tips to get up to 20 i heard a pyramid scheme works good with pull ups any advice would thanx
The biggest mistake people make is they train to failure. You want to do multiple sets, stopping 2-3 reps shy of failure each time and rest for max 5mins between sets. Try to do this everyday. Google HFT "Hgh Frequency Training"! Another tip is to have your palms facing away from you. This works your grip more which is what tends to fatigue first! Hope that helps?
FizzycalFitness...I really enjoy your videos and they're such a great inspiration. I'm slowly trying to get away from weights and go strictly body weight. I read the book, "The Art of Expressing The Human Body" by Bruce Lee and he says its good to do "Both" . I've seen Metaphysics from the Bartendaz and he touches NO WEIGHTS ! Awesome. Which is truly best ? Both or just strictly body weight ? Also is there a formula to developing pull-ups ?

Plus concentrate on narrow grip! Once you can do loads of those switch to sholder width or wider!!!
