  • Dugongs & Manatees are Sirenians. There are only 4 species remaining in the World. 1 Dugong and 3 Manatee. Save Our Sirenians.

  • he doesn't have wings! (because that is silly.)

  • There is a rumour that old sailors used to think manatees were mermaids and actually kiss them. And do something else to them...

  • Man pokemon lied to me. That things is ugly as fuck(but cute in a weird way) nothing like Dewgong.

  • GO POKE`BALL.....yes, i went there.

  • They're not mermaids, they're duGONGS! :{D

  • Dugong! Dugong! Its the cow of the sea sea sea! Dugong! Dugong! Also known as the Manatee!

  • @anonymusbob101 It doesn't have wings, cause that is silly. Doesn't live in a tree, that would also be silly.

  • Dugongs are manatees.

  • @bigbobsbeltbuster - Not really. They are close relatives. The difference is most easily seen from the shape of the tail: a dugong's tail is forked like a dolphin's tail and the manatee's tail looks a bit like a paddle. The dugong is also smaller and is found around the Indian Ocean from the Red Sea to Australia. The manatee is found in North and South America.

  • @zuidwijk So... they have different names depending on where they are from. Oh, ok.

  • @bigbobsbeltbuster - ehm... no, they are two different species.

  • @oldstock1607 Im a dugong/black person,and i find that very offensive

  • Dugong dugong its the cow of the sea sea SEA! dugongs, dugongs, also know as the manatee. It doesnt have wings, (cos' that would be silly), it doesnt live in the trees, (that would also be silly), compared to the dolphin (its very close cousin) its quite UGLY, (so very ugly)! x2

    i got the lyrics right

  • compared to a dolphin its quiet uglyyyyy (so very ugly) :D

  • Dugong! Dugong! it's the cow of the sea sea SEA! ♪

  • He looks like a grazing cow!

  • These sweet things are often killed and eaten by the native people of Australia. They catch them with a rope and then drown them. This is just wrong.

  • it eats sand... what a boss

  • Dugong, dugong, its the cow of the sea, Sea, SEA. Dugong, dugong, also known as the manatee. He doesnt have wings because that would be silly, doesnt live in a tree that would also be silly. Compared to the dolphin hes a very close cousin. He's quite ugly! So very ugly!

  • isnt he cute, munching on that grass..

  • Seels evolve into Dewgongs :)

  • Cool :D U was diving ?

  • it's quite ugllyy!!

  • @owmyears that's ignorant - it looks very cute to me

  • @kingcletusthecatfish It's from a song. But yes, it is cute! :D

  • Are they friendly like manatees?

  • @DeathtoALL991 Oh yes. Not playful and inquisitive like dolphins, but certainly not aggressive.

  • @DeathtoALL991 /watch?v=YXm1ICO8Nec it'll explain your question it weird but explains it

  • It's basically a big fleshy lawn mower.

  • Now I see where they got the idea for the Dewgong Pokemon from

  • are they smaller than manatees?

  • @iridetigers - on average, yes, dugongs are smaller than manatees. But this particular one is a large male of nearly 3 m length.

  • @zuidwijk thank you very much

  • <3 dugong awareness (:

  • I wonder how difficult it would be to choke one of these to death.

  • thanks zuidwijk, i was wondering what the difrence was between the two. The dugong ( or the manatee I dont know hich) is my favorite animal

  • dugong dugong the white cow of the sea

  • We must save these beautiful animals. i think 4 people pushed the wrong button how could you not like this

  • *slurp slurp*

  • Dugong used BLIZZARD. A critical hit! Its not very effective.....

  • @mackawack12346

    That's... Disturbing...

  • they have wiped them out. only 1 Dugong to see.

  • Look at me, living free

Free and clean amongst the Sea People

We look for pirates and search for gold.

Life is an adventure with the Sea People

They don't ever conplain, they don't call me fat.

They don't make me do homework or nothin' like that.

This is the way life was meant to be. Laughing and singing,

    Sea people and me.

Sea people and me, you guys.

  • dugong dugong its the cow of the sea ea eaaaaaaa

  • Also known as the Manatee

  • @flyboy2000008 - actually, they are separate species. The manatee lives in the western hemisphere from Florida to the Amazon, and the dugong in the eastern hemisphere from the Red Sea to Australia. You can tell the difference from the shape of the tail, the dugong's is split, like the tail of a dolphin.

  • @zuidwijk Plus the Manatee is roughly twice the weight...

  • @zuidwijk in a novel by Jules Verne.....a dudong tried to kill a dog

  • eh si es verdad el manatí es una cosa y el Dugongo es otra

  • who would hurt these amazing animals along with its cousin the manatee?

  • You are so lucky to get to see a dugong in the wild! I am jealous. It looks like a vaccuum cleaner when it is eating.

  • It's the cow of the sea! ;D

  • @ChrisUlf it's the cow of the sea ea ea

  • Lmao. sailors in the 1800s use to have sex with dugongs.

  • well thats not healthy for a sailor or for a dugong (i love this bitchis)

  • Om nom nom nom nom nom nom!

I don't see how anyone could have the heart to kill something like this. I could down a deer or most fowl any day, but animals like this are too amazing for me to ever consider hurting them S:.

  • Haha his mouth is all wiggly :P

  • It doesn't have wings. Because that is silly. Doesn't live in a tree. That would also be silly.

  • @EnigmaEvocative Compared to a dolphin, it's very colse cousin. It's quite ugly, so very ugly.

Actually. I thing Dugongs and Manatees are really cute<3 They look so clumsy, but still very kind. :''3

  • its a mermaid!

  • These are mentioned in the Bible several times in Exodus and Numbers. God instructed the Israelites to use sea cow/dugong skins to cover the Tabernacle. That would have required MANY skins and made a lot of meat and oil available, too.

  • God's a bit of a dick, eh?

  • On dirait qe le lamentin, broute la végétation ! C rigolo......!

  • c'est ça!

  • aw it looks like sharks.. hhaha their tails..

  • haha he looks goofy :)

  • dugong can get extinct easy cause they got no natural defenses..they r slow..not so gud eyesight..and my nickname in school is dugong it it gets kinda annoying..

  • there is more of that in indonesia and southeast asia it's endangered

  • yupe....dugong is a nice and cute creature....

  • Its such an adorable and peaceful creature. Those two fishes seem to be his friends lol

  • Yeh! It really looks like a beautiful little mermaid =) just like in the Disney Cartoon )) lol

  • This animal was what probably started the whole mermaid nonsense, lol.

    >;-)

  • It actually was the animal that historically did start the mermaid nonsense, thus Dugong, along with the Manatees order name, Sirenia.

  • yeah sailors who went out to sea would be fooled by Dugongs, sailors used to beleive that they were mermaids by how they acted, like poking their head out of the water for a while from a distance then going back underwater

  • They were covered with seaweed as well, which could account for the hair. Silly sailors. Come on, how does one mistaken a human between a large gray sea animal? XD

  • yeah but the thing is, when you go so far out into sea, you get a bit delirious, your mind isnt all there its an easy mistake from where we stand, but out there a marrage is very confusing

  • is it white? ir a brownish color?

  • it is a brownish color

  • Aww he's so cute :)

  • ive heard of dugongs but never really seen what it looks like.. in palau .. my uncle told me that when they die you could hear them crying and real tears are coming down. but in the islands they call it the sea cow

  • it sthe florida monsterquest sea monster

  • they are buetiful but what is the diffrence between this and manatees

  • Tail shape is different

  • beautiful creature.

I dont care what colour your skin is. No one should be allowed to kill them.

  • you are so lucky to have seen this while diving!

  • i am naming my kid Dugong once i get one

  • hell yeah :)

  • i hear these things have tear ducts. And can also cry.

  • i have never seen or heard about this animal before...but wen i was a little boy i hear folks of my island ( Maldives ) talk about a seacow they see on occasions. i wonder if still this creature is living in Maldivian waters....

  • Japanese government and U.S. military will build a base in Ginowan bay, Okinawa Japan.

    Dugongs are living there.

Japanese government and U.S. military will slaughter them.

  • dugongs are the shit. look at that guy!

  • The Dugong looks like our local newscaster here in Manila by the name of Jessica Soho.

  • hahaha

  • i saw a dugong here in phils..

  • it looks like harmless.. and i think it s smiling!!

  • There are 2 dugongs at the Sydney Aquarium at the moment - very cool

  • dugong is actually originated from the malay word duyung which means a mermaid.....

  • tat duggong is very cute hope nex time i can see a real 1!!!

  • i thought they were extinct.

  • Endangered, yes, but not extinct - you might be thinking of Stellar's Seacow which has long gone where the dead crabs go.

  • these are sposed to be the original mermaid or something.. like thats where people got the original idea from (cos of the tail and that)

  • I have been there! :d it's so cute ;d

  • Very nice :)

  • so cute!

  • oh my gosh that is so cute >:[[

  • We must save them!

  • XD

I thought it was cool. I just liked how the mood of the song seemed to flow with the mood of the vid.

Try "Nude" from the in rainbows album. See if that works.

  • I reccomend (to those who have it) playing Radiohead's "Pyramid Song" while watching this. It has a really nice effect.

  • You're right, that was really cool.

    That's a good song.

  • ive neva seen a dugong

  • Now who will escort me to the debutant ball?

What about that young dugong from macon?

  • If you want to see how the Australians treat these animals search dugong hunting in youtube and see if there is any differance in the way the Japanese treat the whales and yet the Australians are leading the world in stopping the Japanese whaling. Greenpeace and WWF take a look at this and tell us why you are only targeting the Japanese

  • dude im from Australia there protected here u twat the only people that are aloud to catch them any more are black island communities

but i don't beleave they should be aloud to use modern technology like guns or motors to catch them

  • How can an animal be protected if one section of a population is allowed to kill it especially if they are the only ones that eat them. Hopefully now that there are two Dugongs in Sydney Aquarium there will be pressure put on our government to protect them from all sections of our population. I am an Australian and if trying to protect the dugongs means been called a twat the so be it

  • Did anyone know that my government (american) and the Japanese government were going to cause the death of 50 of these awesome creatures?

Yep, to fill in some of the ocean that has their only food source in Okinawa.

    For an air base!!!

  • ??where you got the movie from?

  • I made it.

  • these dugongs are rare... u so luky!

  • I love these guys, you're a very lucky person to have experienced thier presence.

  • nice i was under the impression that they were all extinct. thanks again. Just rare then?

  • quite rare - this one is easy to spot but it has few potential mates

  • I was in Marsa Alam last week and saw the dugong twice! An amazing experience! And loads of turtles too. Wow.

  • there was a question about a dugong on my A level biology paper this summer.

  • what do they eat...seagrass?just like cows eat grass?never seen this animal in real life before...

  • thanks so much zuidwijk!!

  • Dugongs are so awesome! Dugongs and cuttlefish=my favorite underwater friends!

  • good to see no idiotic tourists pattign it away like crazy

  • good video... went to marsa alam in october, dived abu dabab 3 times but unfortunately didnt see the dugong.. seen lots of huge turtels tho... really nice diving in marsa alam

  • Actually, snorkeling is best to find the dugong. Also, it rustles up a lot of sand, so it can hidden in clouds and you could be 8 meters away and not even see it. Keeping an eye on the other dugong spotters is easiest.

  • what place is that

  • Abu Dabab bay (sometimes spelled Abu Dabbab), near Marsa Alam in Souithern Egypt, on the Red Sea coast..

  • usually theyre shy how did u see them?

  • u lucky bastard u got to film and see a dugong! lol

    very nice

  • We met him when we dived there too. Nice film. We just took a few photos.

  • Very nice :)
