just a thought, if you lined your 55 gal drum with a 55 gal trash bag, took the toilet paper out of their individual packages and then placed them into the barrell i believe you could store alot more rolls in the drum without having to squish the rolls, may be worth trying

Why not food saver the toilet paper?, it's less than half the size and them storage bins aren't cheap.

Those barrels might more useful for storing fuel or more nasty stuff you don't want in the house. Might I suggest some simple 35 gallon totes from Walmart? They stack very nicely. Just a thought.

I used heavy duty tubs with a gasket seal and lined them with a trash bag, packed the rolls in out of the package so they fit better. Then I put them out in the garage and sprinkled a few moth balls around them. So far, so good. I figured I needed the space for food in the house where the temperature is controled. TP doesn't care about the temps! lol

I got my stuff different, I have 10 acres of land and made friends with the surrounding land owners, I own a hill and made an hidden bunker in it, I also got electricity hook up to it, underground wires of course with a RV park a lot closer to the road to make people think I am living in it. I have like 10 gasoline generators and a little cave full with gasoline. For food I keep them in drums like yours only nonperishable's. and it my family place so we have a lot of stuff and more caves/tunnels

@houndsman03 cloth comes in all grades and types and is safely washed the normal way one washed diapers-- one washload-- using ordinary detergent. . Also the reason people get red noses using tissue paper is because of the microscopic wood pulp splinters. It just seemed silly to stock up on entire drums of such a thing unless you have unlimited space. We hadn't even known about "preps" so it was all a surprise to us. Preparing for emergency just makes good sense especially in this day and age

Be sure to check the # of sheets. Most tp comps are downsizing the tp rolls. A lot of them are at 88 sheets for a reg roll. The Paseo is 400 for double roll. Angel soft is 150 for reg roll was 175 a year ago. So if you buy now you will save at least 50% after they downsize and raise the price. It will keep forever and provide insulation if you stack it up the wall. I have @2500 rolls of tp based upon 150 reg. Invest now and save a fortune and be prepared.

Try Lime and Outhouses..Once water stops flowing and the treatment plants back flow Lime is going to be worth more than any paper product..It's cheap now. Heavy long distance infrastructure for lime transport. not so much...You wanna invest in the Apocalypse..Seed's and fertilizer..cheap now. Way expensive post meltdown. Toilet paper is a Pretend concern somthing you can use even if things are okey dokey..

Some other forget items are tampons, vitimans, advil, salt pepper spices sugar,condoms, bar soap, razors.

Don't forget an extra spark plug for your generator, and extra tires and tubes for all you bikes

Get the large and tightly condensed restaurant bathroom rolls of toilet paper, one case of these is more toilet paper than you got layin there on the floor and it takes up 1/10th the space.
